What about those screenshots look unrealistic?
High end versions, sure, but "whoa definitely not current gen"? Did y'all play Mankind Divided?
EDIT: clearly when I brought up Mankind Divided I was referring to washed out outdoor daytime shots to compare to the interior neon lit photos in the OP

I love the look of this. I haven't played any of The Witcher games, but I'm definitely going to have to pick this up!
On the other hand, sometimes Mankind Divided can look like this:
Then current-gen came and took knees out from what it could have been. Shame that CDPR decided to hold back PC version so gap between it and console version wouldn't be bonkers insane.
Hopefully next-gen of consoles pack more muscle and meet what CDPR is expecting.

I love the idea of this game, but i'm not convinced yet, I want to see dark punk ingame footage.

With amount of graphics Gates TW3 spawned you could build a road from Earth to Moon and back.
That is why it's so hard.
The game is far off and if they show something that ends up getting "downgraded" when they get closer to release people will throw a fit
This happened with Witcher 3 apparently
This way they dripfeed people and behind closed doors demos get them unreasonably hyped, then they'll show them when they show them
RDR2 looks as impressive if not more so than the original Witcher 3 reveal. Different dev though and much bigger budget.
By looking super muddy at 25 fps. Im assuming those shots are supersampled from a 1080ti pc build. The ps4pro and xbox one x build will probably look great though.
Not seeing what's not achievable this gen especially after seeing these.
Think about your field of view and where those shoulders are.
Then compare how much more narrow you're seeing a FOV in a 16:9 window. Not only that, they're probably futzing with the FoV on the character closeups.
I would imagine they'd be using more powerful tech than 1080ti's to work on a game this graphically intensive and years out.
Alright that makes sense then. I knew about a companion, but never put 2 and 2 together it seems.
Its good to know they'll actually participate in combat it seems, unless the screen shot is from a cutscene.
The screenshots look fantastic, but they don't seem too far off the realm of possibility for current gen consoles (especially the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X). It'll most likely end up being a cross gen game anyways. Cyberpunk 2077 will most likely be referenced as a "next-gen" title, not for it's graphics (don't get me wrong, they do look great), but moreso for it's lively/NPC filled open world.
Based on talk we got from people who saw gameplay back in E3 Jackie will actively engage in combat and do his own thing while we do our own thing.
Outside of the IQ, which... I mean these are press shots, it looks achievable on current gen. It has some really aggressive DOF but this doesn't look impossible on an X or Pro. I worry most about the frame rate based on what we've heard about the game.
The question I have is what does cross-gen mean next generation? If Microsoft continues their backwards compatibility push shouldn't you just be able to buy it on Xbox One and then have a patch be issued to have it make use of the extra headroom on the next Xbox? Buying the game all over again seems like a sucker move to me.
