The deal could come as early as today, say sources familiar with the matter.

NBC News said:
Michael Cohen, President Trump's former personal attorney, is discussing a possible guilty plea with federal prosecutors in Manhattan in connection with tax fraud and banking-related matters, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell NBC News. Those sources stress no deal has been reached but do say the potential deal could be reached as early as today.

The plea could have significant implications for Trump, who has blasted Cohen ever since his former fixer and his attorney, old Clinton hand Lanny Davis, began signaling this summer that Cohen might cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. When reached by NBC, Davis said he cannot comment on advice of counsel since there is an ongoing investigation. Cohen has previously denied wrongdoing.

Mod Edit:

We dont know if this means he will talk though, could just be guilty plea.

If this plea deal doesn't end with the Trumps behind bars, I hope its not on the table.

Trump is a fucking traitor that should be behind bars for the rest of his life and his family and business stripped of all their assets.

It's likely everything they have is due to their service to the Russian state and Russian oligarchs.

Surely you can't plead guilty, then get pardoned by that orange cheetoman?
Trump's hope was that he'd plead innocent, get found guilty and then he'd be pardoned.

He's going to be found guilty either way. Whether he's pardoned or not isn't the question- it's whether he cuts a deal to mitigate his sentence, and what the contents of that deal would be.

If the deal involves spilling some beans on Trump, he's not getting that pardon.

Waited and waited for the pardon but it didn't come, that pardon is reserved for junior. Michael is not family.

I wonder if he owns an Ostrich jacket?

Maybe Meuller's been trying to take his time because he wants the midterms to pass in the hopes of a democrat speaker of the house, so when he yoinks the entire Trump administration we don't have to worry about President Ryan.

New CNN article:
https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/21/politics/michael-cohen-plea-deal-talks/index.html

"The details of the plea are still being negotiated, the sources cautioned, and talks could fall apart. The US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York is investigating Cohen for potential bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance violations. If talks fall apart, federal prosecutors are expected to indict Cohen.
As part of the plea deal under discussion, Cohen is not expected to cooperate with the government, one source said. However, by pleading guilty both Cohen and prosecutors would avoid the spectacle and uncertainty of a trial."

How can you get a plea deal and not cooperate?

That doesn't make sense right.
