By the studio that made Until Dawn.

The Dark Pictures Anthology — a series of standalone horror games.
We are hugely excited to announce The Dark Pictures Anthology - a series of intense, standalone cinematic horror games.
The first game is Man of Medan coming to PS4, Xbox and PC in 2019.

"Man of Medan, like all the games in the Dark Pictures Anthology, is hugely replayable. In fact there is more branching in Man of Medan than any of our previous games. There are multiple endings and multiple scenarios based on the decisions you make in the game. Be careful though as all the playable characters can live, and any and all of them can die, depending on the choices you make."

- Pete Samuels, Executive Producer, Supermassive Games

Man of Medan
The story of Man of Medan starts off on a dive boat in the South Pacific. With a rumoured WWII wreck to find, and plenty of on-deck partying to be had, our group of 4 young Americans and their skipper Fliss get ready for what should be the trip of a lifetime…but it doesn't go quite to plan. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, they find themselves trapped on board a ghost ship. Subjected to unimaginable stress and terror, they must try to find a way to escape the ship and its sinister history.

Great idea and looks like it could be terrifying.

Until Dawn is still my favourite PS4 game, lol.

Through the protaganists eyes you will uncover the secrets of the mystery surrounding the ill-fated boat. Figuring this out can save their lives – but whether or not they all escape is up to you.

Smart to return to the formula that put them on the map. Very cool approach to it as well. I wonder if they're going to season pass these.

Bandai Namco wasn't lying when they said they wanted to publish more western games. That's a huge get tbh.

Really interested in this. Until Dawn was really surprisingly good when I played it some time after release. Happy that the developers stuck with the horror genre.

Graphically it does not seem to have the same level as Until Dawn unfortunately. So I presume a smaller budget due to the absence of a sweet Sony exclusivity deal.

I enjoyed Until Dawn a whole lot; one of the best blind purchases I made in recent years. I'm definitely down for this one.

Bandai Namco is randomly making a habit of swooping in and picking up devs that Sony don't (From after Demon's Souls, Supermassive after Until Dawn (granted, they made a number of poor PSVR titles with them too)).

Graphics need some sort of filter added w the human characters, its getting currently cartoony mixed with the live action stuff in a way that isnt working.

Interesting. Are they building on decima tech with this? It has a similar looks. Of course, they could have ported some of the customsied stuff they developed from working on that game to another engine.

Who gives a shit about the IP when this is a sequel in everything but name by the same devs.
Until Dawn fans.
This is literally the same thing, just with different characters/plots. Did you really want an unnecessary direct sequel?
Another Until Dawn? A sequel? Yes.
But this is Until Dawn 2
No, it isn't.

Different engine this time. Not Guerrilla's Decima Engine anymore (see Until Dawn). And no help from Sony's XDev studio.

So the Until Dawn IP is officially dead. Great job, SIE....
It was a sleeper hit, not a great hit. Disappeared from the charts immediately and we never got any sales info so I doubt it even cleared 2 million LTD. A sequel might have done better but the development history was also kinda messy so I'm not surprised Sony axed them. I presume if the VR titles did well they would have gotten another chance, but for me it always seemed obvious they would go 3rd party next

Supermassive has been using Unreal Engine 4 with their games in the past few years, even with their Sony first-party partnerships. ( Bravo Team, Hidden Agenda )

Didn't they say a few months after launch that it "far exceeded their expectations"? It seems like UD2 would be a no brainer if it made a profit.
