Sounds like checkboard rendering is going to be replaced by AI pixel prediction.

I'm a console peasant with a GTX 1060 PC so I'm not sure how it was handled on PC, maybe checkerboard rendering wasn't used in the first place. Did I misunderstand him when he was talking about resolution? Basically the AI can project pixels that the GPU hasn't finished processing, and project them accurately, basically a better upscaling?

I'm a layman. Lay into me with corrections please.

Most of the major AI applications relies on CUDA architecture. Running them on CPU would be a huge burden on consoles. I don't know if they can work with AMD to do something but I do not think so.
