Am I the only one who thinks you cant just change pricing at the last minute? A TON of thought goes into pricing not just "oh shit people are mad ok lets lower it"

Welcome to Nvidia being a shady-ass company that will crank up the price of its GPUs due to lack of real competition. (Sorry AMD, those glorified space heaters aren't competition)

I don't care how much it costs, as long as it's available.
Then you should hope for $1200 to be real, I think that would really help with availability ;)

If the price rumors are true I might just get two 1080tis :P
Don't do that. Seriously, multi-GPU for gaming is dead.

So is it true reference cards generally aren't as good as third party?
This used to be the case due to the cooling. But it might change with the 2080ti.

I just got a $7,000 check from my insurance company for a totaled car.....this is gonna be tempting. Might just buy a 1080 ti and a new cpu instead to take advantage of the price drop, though.

Where are people gonna be buying their discounted 1080/1080ti's from anyway?
Shouldn't that money be going into a ... car?

Yeah this is like a few years back people were thinking sony changed PS4s price last minute to undercut the xbox one

This stuff is decided like half a year in advance

Still pretty happy with my GTX 1070, but curious to see what they got.

Are any of these $1000+ price rumors rooted in reality though? Seems pretty fucking steep, even for many enthusiasts I'd say

Especially when you're beholden to investors. How pissed would they be to find out you ditched howevermuch in profits because some people on Resetera were a little angry?

$1000 price tag for the 2080 Ti has been shown in leaked product listings. I think the even steeper price of $1200-$1300 is a newer price that appeared on another supposed leaked product listing. But then I just saw another rumor that Nvidia might have changed their prices last-minute due to a lot of negative reactions from all the leaks this past week, so we'll just have to wait!

I can't wait for all the bad press they receive if this turns out to be the pricing. It would also make the decision making a lot easier.

Reviewers rarely ever review a product based solely on price. They're enthusiasts too and usually pay whatever it takes. They'll probably mention its very expensive, but its the best card available.

No one batted an eyelid with Apple's iPhone X and Apple keep upping the price every year.

Am I reading this right?

VideoCardz.com fans the flames for months and months, publishing 'insider information' about the next gen cards from Nvidia (and even tells us at the very last minute what the prices will be) only to tell us a few minutes before the actual launch that we really shouldn't speculate.

WTF?

They've had a pretty shitty reputation for leaks before the 2080 info, so I'm not surprised. They just want the clicks, they had 0 idea what the prices would be.

Mt. Whatever
If the 4K performance is there, and the cards are readily available... I'll pay just about anything between current 1080ti prices and Quadro.

Seriously. 4K is hard. Need all the juice.

At some point the prices will just be equal to the numbers on the card.

RTX 3080 $

It seems incredibly likely that the 2080 Ti will retail at 1000$, most likely 1000$+

Goddamn. I remember that the GTX 1080 launched for less; $1000+ puts this into Titan territory

and dont forget + 9900K and new 4K monitors... ouch!

The next high-end systems looking way more expensive than usual for sure

I don't buy that last minute price change rumor tbh; you don't change something so important last minute

It's almost that time again for Jenson to grace the stage with his leather jacket and constantly interrupt the engineers by trying to explain the tech himself.

Currently I have a 1080 and secured my account to jump RTX2080Ti but I expect at least %70 from my OCed 1080. If they can give something that has 16-17 TFLOPS of power, I'll gladly buy it at day 1. Otherwise I'll wait until Cyberpunk
