Woke up to the best news today: Windjammers 2 is officially a thing!
Can't believe there was a Nindie showcase that went up without me know. Also one game I've been looking forward to, Bad North, has freaking SHADOW DROPPED! The heck? I'm not even done with Octopath and Dead Cells yet!

I had never heard of it! I love the look. Pretty awesome to get to play it today.
I remember first seeing in the March 20th Nindies direct and thought, "OK, it's like they simplfied Total War real time battles to just defending houses on procedurally generates islands against Vikings. I'm in!

it was UK channel only and maybe it's just the accent but that narrator sure was overly cheery in a way that irked me a bit, hmm

Man, just about every basic fact in the WoW quick look was wrong, just like all the previous ones.
I like the dudes talking about wow at all though so i guess it doesn't bother me, but the times where Brad asks a question, gets an answer that sounds like it bums him out, and the actual right answer is what he was hoping for makes me want to waste time on an email just to relay the info, even though I know they dont care to read it and I kinda don't care that much to write it

I think if there was ever a time where you could actually get Brad to care about a WoW thing, it would be now, so...
Giant Bomb is instrumental to Windjammers 2 existing. Which makes it so ironically hilarious that Windjammers 2 is something I can see Jeff dismissing immediately.

My love of Windjammers kind of begins and ends with GB. I've played it but never really managed to get into it myself.
I just hope this doesn't mean 2 will be light on its own content... isn't this coming out this year? And they've only shown one level so far, right?
IIRC we know it's 6 levels again? And we know the one they've shown isn't the first anyway.
I'm guessing we'll see another at/due to Gamescom this week...? And then there are still a few months till it's out.

You and me both. Also I worry that them porting Season 1 locations into Season 2 means that previous unlocks won't carry over and we'll have to do them all again.

Is it though? My understanding is that the French windjamming scene and French dev, DotEmu, were the instrumental reasons for the first game. Jeff made a couple mentions of that, but there really wasn't any crossover. Reading an old waypoint article, DotEmu CEO says Giantbomb had nothing to do with it, and it seems like their history working on Japanese games and their personal connections in the industry got the door opened where others had failed previously. I'm sure some of those failures were more explicitly riding that giantbomb wave too.
