Should have this in a few days, can't wait. Never thought I would see the day.
Doesn't it come out today? My pre-ordered copy on the Xbox store says 20/08/18. Unlocks at 11pm by the looks of it?

Deadly Premonition. The most wonderful steaming pile you'll ever play.
simplygames deliver tuesday releases on the Saturday 4 days before releaseWell base.com didn't deliver. Sticking with ShopTo in the future. Salt.
wtf
Is "Is Shemnue like Yakuza" the new "Is Yakuza like GTA" ?
Never played Shenmue as I didn't have a Dreamcast, but was always curious about these games. Now I'm afraid the very slow pace and aged graphics will prevent me from enjoying the games.
On the other hand, those pics look great. It would be cool if you could just turn down the bloom to a minimal level, just to give a little bit of depth instead of oversaturating everything.
Debatable, especially screen with cat (where are shadows?)
The realistic location design really shines. The locations feel like real places with real logic. Shenmue always wowed in that respect. It always felt like every business, or area of your home, had exactly the design that it would have in real life. The bloom looks bad, but god, it looks so crisp.
I can remember all the shimmering and unfiltered textures from the AM2 engine already. I swear you could cut yourself just watching them.
Guess no pre-load at all, huh? The game unlocks in 24 hours, that sucks.
PC. Yakuza 0 released 3 weeks ago and it had pre-load.PS4? If so, go into your Library, then purchased and you should see Shenmue and Shenmue II. Press X and then choose download, that'll kick the pre-load off for both.
Oh ps4 the preload is up.Guess no pre-load at all, huh? The game unlocks in 24 hours, that sucks.
Pre-load on Steam is up.Guess no pre-load at all on Steam, huh? The game unlocks in 24 hours, that sucks.
I have a feeling this collection will settle for scores in the 7 range. Fans of the series will rate it higher than those that are new to the series.
It doesn't resemble any other game.I'm having a lot of trouble even from the OP understanding what kind of game this is like and whether I will like it or not. I've been curious since the S3 announcement but the screens and videos make it look kind of boring and outdated. Can someone tell me what other games this resembles?
Nice, I literally just checked steamdb and seen the new update.
If you're willing to exert energy forgiving Sega's ancient design decisions while wading through Suzuki's ridiculously dense approach to dialogue, task completion, and side hobbies, then this compilation is for you. Otherwise, if you're looking for Shenmue's spirit applied to more modern gaming ideas, finely position your tank-controlled body in the direction of Sega's newer Yakuza series (now available on Windows PC).
All in all, it's surreal revisiting Shenmue on modern hardware – truly surreal. We've been utterly enamoured with what we've played so far, but we still need time to determine how much nostalgia is playing a part. The games are very playable, and the no frills ports seem sturdily assembled – but if you're from a generation that didn't experience these games in their original guise, it's difficult to determine whether you'll jive with them. They were divisive back in the day, and without context, the issues will only be accentuated in 2018. Maybe you should play some? Yes, no – we can't quite make up our mind. One thing's for sure, if you're a lifetime fan then you're going to get a kick out of replaying these.
