The Metroid Prime games are all top tier Nintendo games in my opinion. Prime 1 and 2 would both be in my top 5 games of all time, with 3 in the top 20. They're a translation of the Metroid-style of game design into 3D on a scale that still hasn't been passed, much less even replicated. They are absolute masterpieces in game design.

Yet... they didn't Light the charts on fire. While they definitely were far from flopping (Prime 1 especially had great sales for a GameCube game), they could've done better.

With the announcement of Metroid Prime 4 coming to the Switch soon, it's pretty much a no brainer to get the first three on Switch somehow.

I've thought the Switch for a long time to be a great platform for Metroid. The system has enjoyed healthy sales of "core" games on it since it's release, and Metroid is as core as it gets for Nintendo. Without the underperforming software sales of the GameCube, and the more casual audience of the Wii, I think the series can finally shine and bring in a significant new fan base.

So I'll ask ERA - are there any of you guys out there who own a switch and haven't played these masterpieces? Would you consider jumping in should they be ported? What would it take for you to (imo this is easily worth $60)

Also I suppose, would those who have played it double dip?

Beat Prime, got to the final boss in Prime 2, and probably 2/3s of the way through Prime 3. I'd buy a switch remaster and go through all three.

I've never played a Prime game and I would absolutely buy and play the trilogy ahead of Prime 4. In fact, that may be the only way I end up playing Prime 4.

I played the first game and it was pretty damn great. I have only played the multiplayer on the second game (which was actually very fun) but I would jump at the chance to play the other games remastered for the Switch. Crossing my fingers it gets announced at the next direct but that may be a long shot.

Had these on WiiU, tried to start Prime 1 and 3 a few times and couldn't hold my interest. Not really sure why. That was a few years ago so would like to try again on Switch.

I actually never played 3, and with 4 incoming that would be a good occasion to jump back in. Also i'd gladly replay MP 1 and 2 again, i only see positive as far as i'm concerned.

I own the trilogy on Wii, but the combination of poor graphics on a modern TV and the aiming nauseated me. I really want to play them.

I've played through these games countless times and I'd be Day 1 on Remasters

They, especially the original, are superbly designed games that hold up to this day, and still are a standard of environmental level design that very few games can match or even get close to reaching.

I bought prime 1 on the GameCube in 2007 cause I thought og shit it's Samus from Smash bros not even after 1 hour in I was lost and confused so I rode my bike back to GameStop and traded the game for Sonic Heroes .( I don't regret this, loved Sonic Heroes)

So yeah I'd like to try it again and will probably end up using a walk through 100 million times.

Of course, I only played half of 1 and a tiny bit of 3, I would buy a collection to prepare for 4.

Haven't played them because I never owned any of the platforms where they were released, so I would be very interested in a collection/remaster.

Nah. I'm just not interested in 3D Metroid, I'd buy a collection of the 2D ones in a heartbeat though.

That doesn't mean that I think they shouldn't do it though- seems like a no-brainer to me to warm people up for MP4.

I have beaten each game of the prime trilogy at least 5 times so this thread is not directed to me, but I love this series so fucking much that I can't hold myself from replying. Yes! I would buy a remaster in a second, it is my most anticipated game on the switch. The ability to play this amazing trilogy on the go, the other game on the go I want is RE4, so please Capcom, you have released it on every machine anyway release it on the switch too.

I´d buy them as soon as they were available. Such amazing games. Blows my mind that Nintendo does not want our money, as I´m still waiting for Prime trilogy, Windwaker HD and Twilight Princess HD to be released on Switch, and I know I wouldn´t be the only one that would buy these gems.

In for a bundled trilogy.
Out if they go full Nintendo and sell them for $60 a piece though.

Listen, I own the two original games on GC, played Corruption (didn't buy it, just finished it for a review and returned), then as soon as Trilogy came out I imported it from UK, then bought Trilogy again digitally on Wii U. I still own all that shit, and yes, I would buy the remasters. I don't even know if I'd play all three games through properly because I've just played them so many times, often just partially and then came back to them later because I was already at the time burned out on them a little bit. And still, yes, I would buy a remastered collection. Possibly for a full price. Possibly even in a non-remastered state, just polished a bit and upscaled. Not individually, unless they were like 10 bucks a piece, and the collection would probably need to be on a cart because the space on Switch is scarce, but... yeah.

I know you asked for other people's opinions but I still had to reply, sorry.

I would be dipping in again.

I have the original 2 on GC. Then MP3 on Wii. Followed by Trilogy on Wii. And then I bought the digital download of Trilogy on Wii U. If the Trilogy hits hits Switch, I'll be buying again.

Shut up and take my money.

I own them all individually and the trilogy and I would still buy a HD remaster on Switch, these are classic games.

Time is right as ever for an HD remaster, so yes. Only ever made it about 50% through the first one.

Give me some QOL features, dual analog control option, and obviously the HD upgrade and hell I'll double dip!

It's crazy that it's 2018 and we still can't play a single proper Metroid game in HD. Nada. None. Let alone the Prime trilogy!

The answer should be "Yes, but by the time it's announced I'll have already played them."

Because you should get on that shit right now.
