I get that that much detail probably wouldn't go in but damn they truncated the hell out of Manhattan after Central Park.
How about Washington Heights and Inwood?
It's one of the reasons I hold GTA IV in such high esteem, they gave us 4 boroughs and Jersey City when normally in a game you just get a Frankenstein version of Manhattan.

They have announced this Spider-Man game will be official Marvel Canon, with it's own Earth in the Marvel Universe.

I just read old Spider-man comics that he go other place and have trouble to follow a bad guy because no tall buildings around there, which is funny.

Pretty much. Not just with Spider-Man either. The typical Marvel universe is 616. Ultimate Marvel is 1610. Marvel 1602 is 311. Marvel Zombies is 2149. And so on. Like Ultimate Marvel Mr Fantastic went evil and invaded the regular 616 Marvel universe

Only thing I'm affraid of is The Lizard looking terrible if he is even in this. Always loved The Lizard when I was a kid and didn't even see the movie with him in it because I thought it was a horrendous design. Also hoping The Spot is in the game in some fashion, think he would be an interesting character with some bad ass fights.
Wait a minute, sanctum santorum and Avengers Tower? This isn't future MCU is it? I mean I know that they exist in Comic New York as well, but it feels like any non comic Marvel Media is all a parallel or tied into the MCU for the public audience. Like how the Disney XD cartoons are kinda alt universe MCU shows. And the aesthetics match.

Like, open world games usually change the city for its sequels, but Spiderman is always about New York, so how will that work in the eventual Spiderman 2? Just a bigger, more detailed New York? I am afraid it could end up stale.

If this game sells as well as everyone expects I'd assume its a lock unless Insomniac doesn't want to do it for whatever reason.

That the symbiote suit won't be in the game because it would be explored in a sequel.
I think a sequel is a safe bet as all parties will likely be interested and of course it's going to sell a shit ton so that's not a worry. The only possible problem would be if the team at insomniac didn't want to spend another 3+ years on spiderman but with how the industry works now most studios want to get at least 2 games in an IP before moving on to something else. Besides you typically don't spend all that time working on an engine and getting all the foundation parts of a game down to bail out after 1 game (if you have a say in the matter that is).
Maybe Peter will move to a different part of New York? Kind of like how Arkham Knight moved Batman to a different side of Gotham that wasn't used in Arkham City. I'd prefer if we had that added on top of the current map, but I wouldn't mind whichever way it went.
Symbiote Post-Credits tease incoming.
Eddie Brock will probably make an appearance at some point in the game, but he'll be like a nice little cameo vs a fully explored character.
Insomniac spent 10+ years on Ratchet and Clank. I'm sure they'd be down for a sequel.
I hope the symbiotes stay away from this franchise for a damn long time. I love Venom, especially Agent Venom and Anti-Venom, but we don't need symbiotes to tell great Spider-Man stories and we've had the symbiotes a little too much lately.
I'm hoping for a sequel but it makes you wonder what they'll do with the city. Like the other person said, it might be a problem if the setting has to be NY again, which I guess it does.
Well, it'll probably be a PS5 title and they'll be able to create a closer to 1:1 version of NYC.

Dude, I would love an Agent Venom game. Or at least a Standalone DLC adventure.
Wait. There's a symbiote god...? Fuck. I didn't read the recent Venom stuff, so I'm out of the loop now. Latest I know is about the Klyntar when Flash went up to space and all that jazz.
That would be the dopest shit ever. Agent Venom is fucking awesome. He'd provide a cool mix of gameplay options with his abilities. He can go undercover and do stealth stuff, maybe kind of like Hitman or something. Then in a fight, he can do all the usual Spider-Man stuff, but also mix that up with various weapons and shape-shifting stuff, then throw in a rage mode where he's fighting with raw power instead.
Throw Mania into the mix while they're at it too.
