What's the origins of this meme?
The laziest person in this industry of lazies: Filip Miucin.
I get that that much detail probably wouldn't go in but damn they truncated the hell out of Manhattan after Central Park.Looks like they cut out Harlem. Not the best look, tbh but maybe a mini-version of it is still in the game.
Was also hoping to see at least some of Queens since that's where Peter Parker is canonically from.
How about Washington Heights and Inwood?
It's one of the reasons I hold GTA IV in such high esteem, they gave us 4 boroughs and Jersey City when normally in a game you just get a Frankenstein version of Manhattan. When is a Spider-Man game going to let me go to the best parts of NYC? Aka Brooklyn and Queens.
They keep failing us in that regard.
4th difficulty mode: I don't feel so goodPlus, possibly a fourth, more difficult option as Bryan let slip during their Twitch stream!
Spiderman, but not in NY? Blasphemy.
And why the hell would you want Spiderman in a place he can't swing?
They have announced this Spider-Man game will be official Marvel Canon, with it's own Earth in the Marvel Universe.
That's very cool and Marvel are clearly happy with the quality of the game to do that.
Yup. We also got to use the Marvel flipbook logo which hasn't been given to a game before
NOT COOL, MAN. NOT COOL.
Aaany chance you can tell us what designation your Earth is?Yup. We also got to use the Marvel flipbook logo which hasn't been given to a game before
LA Is SPiderWoman turf, and she can flyCan sequel set other place that has no/lack tall buildings to swing around ? like L.A. ?
y u do dis

Seriously, it's so effective.
As a non comic fan...different earths? What? So all these spiderman timelines all exist?
Well, it didn't hurt to try finding out sooner, haha. Definitely reading that of course, and gonna try and get myself those variant covers too!
Pretty much. Not just with Spider-Man either. The typical Marvel universe is 616. Ultimate Marvel is 1610. Marvel 1602 is 311. Marvel Zombies is 2149. And so on. Like Ultimate Marvel Mr Fantastic went evil and invaded the regular 616 Marvel universeAs a non comic fan...different earths? What? So all these spiderman timelines all exist?
All realities exist and they each have their own different numerical designation. As a non comic fan...different earths? What? So all these spiderman timelines all exist?
Doesnt the MCU actually have its own number too like Earth 199999Pretty much. Not just with Spider-Man either. The typical Marvel universe is 616. Ultimate Marvel is 1610. Marvel 1602 is 311. Finally, some other person with excellent taste!
Nope. As you've said, they exist in the comics. All forms of media in Marvel and DC influence each other.Wait a minute, sanctum santorum and Avengers Tower? This isn't future MCU is it? I mean I know that they exist in Comic New York as well, but it feels like any non comic Marvel Media is all a parallel or tied into the MCU for the public audience. Like how the Disney XD cartoons are kinda alt universe MCU shows. And the aesthetics match.
I wonder what they can do with a sequel in regards to the city?
Like, open world games usually change the city for its sequels, but Spiderman is always about New York, so how will that work in the eventual Spiderman 2? Just a bigger, more detailed New York? I am afraid it could end up stale.
Maybe Peter will move to a different part of New York? Kind of like how Arkham Knight moved Batman to a different side of Gotham that wasn't used in Arkham City. I'd prefer if we had that added on top of the current map, but I wouldn't mind whichever way it went.I wonder what they can do with a sequel in regards to the city?

I think a sequel is a safe bet as all parties will likely be interested and of course it's going to sell a shit ton so that's not a worry. The only possible problem would be if the team at insomniac didn't want to spend another 3+ years on spiderman but with how the industry works now most studios want to get at least 2 games in an IP before moving on to something else. Besides you typically don't spend all that time working on an engine and getting all the foundation parts of a game down to bail out after 1 game (if you have a say in the matter that is).
If this game sells as well as everyone expects I'd assume its a lock unless Insomniac doesn't want to do it for whatever reason.
There was a rumor claiming (could be fake but spoilered just in case)
That the symbiote suit won't be in the game because it would be explored in a sequel.
I'm hoping for a sequel but it makes you wonder what they'll do with the city. Like the other person said, it might be a problem if the setting has to be NY again, which I guess it does.
Well, it'll probably be a PS5 title and they'll be able to create a closer to 1:1 version of NYC.
It's a nitpick for sure, I mean this line of thinking just doesn't work all the time.my only nitpick for this game is no other marvel hero guest characters. you have avengers building, dr strange home etc but they'll never show up in game. I mean, if the game universe already acknowledge that these heroes exists. event like prison breakaway should alert Avengers at the very least.
I hope the symbiotes stay away from this franchise for a damn long time. I love Venom, especially Agent Venom and Anti-Venom, but we don't need symbiotes to tell great Spider-Man stories and we've had the symbiotes a little too much lately.

Wait. There's a symbiote god...? Fuck. I didn't read the recent Venom stuff, so I'm out of the loop now. Latest I know is about the Klyntar when Flash went up to space and all that jazz.I hear ya. If they do put them in they are probably drop in some of that lame symbiote god edgelord. I can go without that.
That would be the dopest shit ever. Agent Venom is fucking awesome. He'd provide a cool mix of gameplay options with his abilities. He can go undercover and do stealth stuff, maybe kind of like Hitman or something. Then in a fight, he can do all the usual Spider-Man stuff, but also mix that up with various weapons and shape-shifting stuff, then throw in a rage mode where he's fighting with raw power instead.Dude, I would love an Agent Venom game. Or at least a Standalone DLC adventure.

Throw Mania into the mix while they're at it too.
