Can't seem to muster up excitement for Slime Language knowing it's more of a label project than a follow up to BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS, which might be my favorite project from him.

I thought Tsunami was first

Really like the overall vibe of this project being similar to Hug's solo songs on Super Slimey. Just finished January 1st is nice, but Chanel and Gain Clout are real nice

Persona 5 is the Hopsin of video games. I won't elaborate on what I think that game's Happy Ending moment is.

Also did this kill Gudda Gudda's career?

Eh, Slime Language is weak.

Just gonna repost this from a while ago:
No. You mentioned basically the same issues I had, OP.

- story turned into stupid JRPG tropes I hoped it wouldn't for once making me not care at all anymore in the end,
- the last 3 dungeons were terrible and should've been cut
- some of the writing and how topics like sexual harassment were handled were stupid af, conversations and all the damn phone messaging were incredibly redundant (for the first time in a game I started just skipping a lot of the dialog, especially the phone stuff)
- combat was fast and snappy and how turn-based combat has to be for me nowadays to enjoy it, but ultimately it wasn't really engaging enough outside of boss battles (halfway through when I got the SP Recovery 3 for everyone I just put everyone on AI and used auto-battle most of the time, which made combat trivial and I wished I could've just turned off encounters and just done story and social link stuff, tbh).

Game was a huge slog ultimately, yet I still somehow kept love-hating it for 180 hours. Would never recommend it to anyone and probably won't play Persona 6 unless they shake up the formula, change the setting, make scheduling more flexible by letting you do more things per day, and shorten the main story to 40 hours or so.

I had all those issues but mostly it's that for a game with a supposedly anti-establishment message of outsiders reforming society, it sure does love to demonise LGBT people and have women be sexualised punchlines (contradicting the first arc) while praising cops.

Oh and the traitor reveal was weak.

Yeah, that's what I meant with the point about their bad handling of certain topics.

Here's a difficult question for HipHopera... what is the best Pharrell Williams beat? It can be for his own song or a collab.

I'm not doing this just because I want to hear something other than Pharrell slander after Sweetener dropped I swear.

I'm a big fan of Burgundy. I will never understand why this wasn't the album opener.

Pheww, that one's hard for me as a huge Neptunes/Pharrell stan (though I haven't been following him much in the last years). You mean solo Pharrell-produced?

EDIT: Sweetener is the Ariana album? How much did he produced for that?

He produced around half of it. However it isn't really his A-game even though a lot of it is pretty good.

Gudda Gudda never had a career, he just perpetually gets pity placements on his friends' songs, like G Herbo.

Only really messing with Gain Clout and Gunna songs on Slime Language

Sounds too much like Super Slimey
Suddenly very interested.

Tyler is going to be the heir to pharrell anyway, I think his legacy is safe.
How the fuck? For just being a weirdo?

This 6lack single is hella trash. It's on some super in my feelings but I got bars in my notebook and no hook stilo.

EDIT: and Tyler may idolize Neptunes and NERD but he'll never be the heir. I don't think he wants to be. Even if he's been influenced, Pharrell and the Neptunes were part of the pop landscape from day 1 and stayed in that spot for 2 decades. Do you ever see Tyler producing a Britney single? Hell, do you even see Tyler having a radio single of his own?

He wants to go that direction.

Like if I remember right Flowerboy was mostly stuff he wrote for people like Zayn and Bieber but having to do himself because they didn't bite lol.

He may want that. He obviously has a pretty wide open taste in music if Camp Flog Gnaw lineups are an indication. But there's really no comparison in terms of career arc. Neptunes were the biggest producers in rap/pop/r&B and then when they slowed down Pharrell was the hook man for the biggest rappers for years and years and is still working.
