GameStop had an offer here in Sweden where I got 500 sek for the reaper version (basically 50$) like three months Ago IF I bought a new game. So I did.

However i never had the time to pick up the necro expansion.. is it any good? Necro was my facorite in d2.. is he something Close to him?
Well, there are no corpses or curses in D3

Nor Enigma so

Yup I'm due for another Era break. I can't deal with the disingenuous posting anymore.

Aw, that sucks. I always enjoy reading your posts.

I wish Era did more to discourage this epidemic of low effort dismissive posts. It seems like every thread about Switch third party titles is full of a bunch of easy, essentially copy/pasted complaints about price or performance.

I get it. $60 is more than a lot of you want to spend, but saying it over and over is just killing the possibility of more interesting discussion.

Sorry its not a "hot take" to wonder why a game released over 6 years ago costs a full $60. You can think its a reasonable price given the content but its also not unreasonable to think thats a crazy ask and have no interest in paying it.

I thought the game discussed in this thread releases this year?

I have never played it. Last I played was Diablo 2 way back in the old days. When my character dies, do I lose all my stuff in this game?

Diablo 3 originally came out in 2012. I bought it day 1 for $60, it didn't even work and was a pretty terrible game for a while. I bought the PS4 version which was great and much more enjoyable than my PC experience but also pricey. I personally have no interest in playing D3 again and definitely not at $60.

It's not disingenuous to say this is a hefty ask in terms of price.

:(

I'll miss your posts again if so.

Though I definitely do understand why.

It is becoming noticeably more of a frequent occurrence of disingenuous posting like you said. Across both the DOOM Eternal and this threads as just 2 very recent examples.

This place is just too negative for me. Reasonable grievances, complaints, and discussions drowned out by sheer hyperbole, brought about in many cases (not all) by users who have no real interest in the topic at hand but simply enjoy wacking the hornet's nest. I'm just done with it. So many great users here (like you) drowned out by those who love taking every discussion to the extreme. I just need both a break and a severe reduction of time spent on this site when I resume posting. I'm too old for this shit. And I'm not blameless either; I've said my share of nonsense I'm the past, but I'm trying really hard to have a more sensible attitude on this forum and threads like this aren't helping me.

*slightly overdramatic, impassioned rant over. Apologies.

Pretty much. If it's a day-and-date release then it's "lol $60" next to the 'objectively superior' versions on other platforms. If it's a port it's "lol $60 port".

Very boring and trite all round.

Edit: and they just keep coming lol. Tofer yup I'd expect no less. Or no more might be more apt.

Exciting news. Seems that Eurogamer was right after all.
Will probably pick it up if it runs well. Never played any of the extra content.

Technically, the complete game, as in everything in this package, is a year old, not six.

That aside, the age of a game is utterly irrelevant when it comes to pricing. The "right" price for this and any other game ever is whatever the company thinks they can get for it on Day 1, and here, that's $60.

At full price, they will assuredly get existing D3 and Switch fanatics, as well as people entirely new to both. That's an entirely new audience that's largely price agnostic. Charging anything less than $60 to them is leaving money on the table.

Once that subset of the audience is exhausted or if the game flops cause of the launch pricing, the price will come down, and they will snag folks that are more price sensitive or willing to replay D3 at a lower price point.

It's not difficult to figure out why the pricing is what it is, and it's also fine if you think it's too much for you. These are not mutually exclusive.

If you have no interest in this game, "especially" at 60$, why are you even posting in this thread ?

Might it be because you are just disingenously complaining about how its overpriced, to derail the thread from actual discussion ?

The game you bought in 2012 is not the same as the game today though, there's so much more content. I do agree for those thinking of double/triple etc dipping then yeah $60 is a lot but it's a Blizzard game and I always expect their games to be on the expensive side.

Seriously. I get that we don't have much to go on yet besides the price and the fact that it's Diablo on Switch, but ... There has to be more fun and interesting things to discuss, right?

Like, it looks like you can have a fucking Cucco as a pet. That alone has me seriously considering a double dip.

Anddd the thread is a mess.

Jesus it was supposed to be good news.

Ever since this was rumored, I was expecting the backlash over the pricing. The same happened with Skyrim Switch, and that, as anyone could've easily predicted, was successful.

This will be too. As will GTA5/Overwatch/(insert your fan fav game here) Switch at $60 if they ever actually happen.

Activision should continue the trend of bringing their best catalog releases over to Switch. Next up: COD Modern Warfare Remastered, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved, King's Quest: The Complete Collection.

Nice. Diablo III is great nowadays and the more people being able to enjoy it, the better.

I confess to being slightly alarmed at the exclusive content mentioned in the headline, but it's cosmetic stuff only, which is completely fine. A nice bonus for Switch owners to make up for the wait. And it wouldn't really make sense to dress like Ganondorf in the PC/PS4/XB1 versions anyway.
