Directly reading a forum post in a video delaring it as your own "research" without crediting the source is pure laziness, not false inspiration.

Come on. It's just straight plagiarism.
These aren't ideas he's copying and misattributing them to himself.

He's copying sentence structure and content and changing words. It's blatantly obvious.

Is this new ?I Did not notice last time I checked his twitter

That probably has nothing to do with this. He's been tweeting a lot, ranting about comment sections that complain about the "proper way" to review a game

I disagree. How would he remember line by line the HD rumble part? Even the structures of the other reviews would require a amazing memory to even remember the key words used.

Good point. You're right, I forgot that example.

Unless its the old photographic memory plus cryptomnesia. Happens to the best of us. /s

Filip's review of Bayonetta 2 on IGN is still up for me it seems. Which is really weird. I thought it got taken down?

It's actually his preview article that copied someone else's review article. The preview was removed but the review is still up.

So this one is a bit of a grey area because they worked together, and maybe he got permission, but I think Filip might have ripped off another IGN staffer's review of Octopath Traveler in his Op-ed piece.

Seth Macy's review, July 12

Philip's Op-ed, July 17

They worked together....for the love of God!!

FYI it's looking more and more likely that most of Fhis work published on IGN has editorial copy in it sufficiently derivative of previously-published work that it is a significant ethical breach and will need to be removed.

We are moving on it as fast as we can as a Senior Editorial staff.

There are complications. Including challenges around removing review scores and the way out site CMS works (which is why Dead Cells unfortunately displayed a "0.0 Disaster" score for a time).

A final decision hasn't been made but I think the most likely outcome is all of his work will be removed, and we'll decide from there what we need to do in terms of replacing the back-catalogue of critical content we owe game makers.

Hey, it's a reasonable thing to do. Good luck with that, and too bad about all the extra work that you have to do to scrub your site.

What a completely shitty situation. Man, I can't even imagine the headache this would all be.
