Smash Bros. games used to have the announced actually announce the name of the game, which used to be all sorts of hype, really- it set the tone for the festive celebration that the games were. For some reason, this was dropped in Brawl and 4 (even though a version of the announcement exists for 4, it was never used).

With Ultimate going back to the roots of the series, and engaging in all sorts of fan service, do you think the game will actually bring back the announcer too? "Super Smash Bros... Ultimate!" It would be so hype. Low key, this is my biggest disappointment with the post-Melee Smash games, so I hope they bring it back!

When I play Smash Wii U or brawl I still say the title in my head. So yeah, I hope they bring it back!

Yeah that would be awesome but what I really want is a brand new unique CGI opening sequence that melee had instead of reused CGI from character trailers that brawl/smash 4 had :/

Smash has always reused its previous CG for its opening movies (except for the original game), even Melee's was a full rehash of the E3 trailer.

I can't comment on the scream in the trailer but I would love it very much if they could make an unique intro for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I think it's good way to make it feel like THE ULTIMATE VERSION so we could see all stars characters in the trailer, just like Melee's.

I want it back so bad, I want them to just say "SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERS" without the "Ultimate" because I think it messes with the flow
That WiiU one is super weak.
Melee's feels weak too, all compared to Smash 64's

Yeah I just hope the Ultimate one does a better job of rehashing if they do so. Smash 4's intro had a lot of weird cuts, had scenes from trailers that had different clashing art styles, etc. Also I really liked the Melee one best since it kept the gameplay footage to a minimum and the place it was used was done well. It can be done in-engine, but I just dislike the jarring cuts that Brawl and Smash 4 did between CGI and in-game.
