I saw this posted on the Reddit page.

ttps://streamable.com/w3g46

I didn't know I was running a Moderate NAT connection until the beta ended, I wish I was able to switch to see if I can notice the difference in the hit detection. One of the reasons I always enjoyed the Treyarch games was because their lag compensation and hit detection was always acceptable and didn't have so many " I shot first, wtf how did I die" or "I go down with 1 shot" comments as I did with the other garbage COD games like Ghost, IW, AW and WW2. I did have a couple of those moments in this beta and was wondering if it was the beta netcode or maybe my netcode. It's probably both.

Also one of the reasons I am liking this one more than BLOPS3 is the lack of the juvenile garbage ass embarrassing cringe worth emote system, the armor and the camo that looked so out of place and childish in a game with that type of atmosphere.

That's the same shit that happened to me pretty often and I generally have 60 ping or less in most games. I didn't see a way to check your ping in game though.

What the hell has happened to cod? Urghh this futuristic stuff is terrible. They need to go back to cod 4, mw2, waw, blops1 style.

And the same people will still complain, oh it's getting old, they aren't doing anything new, too much world war 2 or its getting boring with modern warfare.blah blah blah. No matter what they do they are doomed.

They had the following games set in modern time.

COD4
MW2
BLOPS 1
BLOPS 2
MW3
COD Ghosts

They had the following games set in WW2 time

COD1
COD2
COD3
COD WAW
COD WW2

Following games in the future.

COD AW
COD IW
BLOPS 3

Yeah and a game being set in the past does not make a game better lol

BO4 is much better than WW2....and that was set in WW2 lol

I'd put BO2 and Ghosts in the near future category. I'd consider putting AW in that category as well (it's debatable). Black Ops 3 and 4 are future. IW is distant future.

Speaking of setting, I hope the next game is modern or cold war setting.

I miss Modern Warfare, but I want an entire design philosophy change. Boots to ground is more than just staying grounded. I miss the old map design most. Maps like Estate, Overgrown, Crash, etc. Maps based on real world environments and not some steel facility. Hacienda stands out because of that. There's no variety with the map design.

I miss factions based on real military groups too. Im interested in BO4, but I miss all of that from last gen COD games.

One thing I feel hampers the map design in Black Ops 4 is the grappling hook (as fun as it is) and the height at which you can mantle objects. Verticality doesn't mean nearly as much as it did before, and gone are the secret zones or crawlspaces. The maps also feel a lot less naturally structured. Also small. They're all pretty small compared to Call of Duty titles of yore.

I haven't caught up on the thread and I'm not sure what the general consensus is after this last beta, but I played two weeks in a row on PS4 then Xbox, and I really like the game.

I like it *way* more than I ever liked, or will ever like, WWII. I really like the focused, class-based operators and emphasis on scores and teamwork. It just feels more focused all-around, which I gather is ironic given the game's development.

All I know is that hours would go by while I was playing and I was always enjoying myself, and when I got home, I always had the urge to boot it up and play a few rounds. I hadn't felt that way since MW2 really. I'm excited for this, and will be picking it up. Can't wait to try Blackout!

Black Ops 2 is interesting since it was like, "wow, 2025, that's a bit off!" but now we're only 7 years off, 6 in a few months. I mean no duh, that's how time works. But it's interesting to see us catching up with the date of what was the furthest in the future CoD at the time. So in 2025, would Black Ops 2 be considered modern? ::thinking::

I have to agree that it's not so much the futuristic settings that I've disliked in recent games, it's the map design. BO3 was the worst, basically every map was some variation of 3 lanes. It made every map feel and play the same with different window dressing and got old really quick for me.

But all of the recent games (including WW2) suffer from the feeling that every map needs to be perfectly "balanced" and I think that sucks a lot of the excitement and fun out. In the older games, teams fighting over and taking control of favorable parts of the map made it feel more dynamic, with highs and lows. Everything just feels flat now.

i enjoyed the beta - balancing on the weapons will be interesting. quick-scope snipes still a thing tho? -_- lol
I never get this comment, either I move too fast or I've never bumped in to a quick scope sniper before.

Sure I've been killed a couple of times by a sniper but there predictable just slide and shoot, problem over

This game is kind of modern, though. I mean, I am trying to see what would be considered future. But most of the tech in this game is stuff we have now. No one is cloaking (yet), and there are no cybernetics as far I can see. We have;

Drones (AI controlled and RC)
Robots (AI and RC)
Infrared used in various ways
All the guns aren't anything too crazy (mostly just unique designs, inspired by real guns).

But yea, it's near future if anything. Definitely wouldn't lump it with BO3, IW, etc.

I played it. I just dont like what cod has become with this futuristic stuff dude. I prefer modern or ww2.

The last COD that came out JUST BEFORE this that people ARE STILL PLAYING is literally called Call of Duty WWII.

Dont be fucking stupid. Ive played the beta and its garbage.
Imagine getting this heated over a cod game.

Wish i could have tried out more weapons. Dont have a grasp of the overall balance so far. If the rest of the maps are like hacienda, itll be a pretty good map set. Missing the well designed 3 lane approach from bo3 tho

How is this a shitpost drive-by? This is a very popular opinion in all CoD communities that I visit. There is no indication that he didn't play the beta like what Liquor claimed either. To say someone didn't play the beta so they can discredit their opinion is not fair in any shape or form.

Maps pretty much sucks after COD went with Swiss cheese chaos design to stop camping. It forces everyone to run around like headless chickens. "3 Lane" doesn't mean anything when there are 3-5 random entry way / branching paths every few running seconds. It may discourage camping, but it sure removes any map flow which is why we see non stop respawning map flips. Personally, I would like to go back to the old days of maps with choke points and map flow, but I know that's not going to happen. Guess, people prefer constantly getting shot in the back more...

And in return, you can roll back on the condescending attitude to people you don't personally agree with. Fair deal? Cool.

Let me help you out. He complained that the games were all future, and then proceeded to literally type "ww2" as something they need to go back to. The problem with this obvious troll post is that this happened;

Less than a year ago. If your only goal was to come and here to just not read what he said and defend it, then you are an issue as well.

I feel like that can be prevented if the spawns weren't crap. And in certain objective modes your teammates don't push. Like there's no reason to capture A when we already have B and C. Please stop.

so what was the verdict on the pc version? I would have played this past weekend but I was on vacation and couldn't get on my desktop

Is the performance at least on par with black ops 2?
