This guy in particular has always been trash. The FGC constantly pushes him away whenever he tries to work his way in.
Can we please not do the whole "eSports/internet gaming media was a mistake" thing all over again? It happens every thread like this and it goes nowhere. It's a complete confirmation bias because nobody would make threads about nice people doing nice things arbitrarily, but it only takes one shitter to make us all look bad every time.

Seriously though, the real problem is other people in esports are ok with him because he's been working in the industry for so long. An example is Overwatch League caterc and analyst Monte who podcasts with Thorin regularly and even defended his usage of a homophobic slur.
So Monte tolerates Thorin, Blizzard tolerates Monte, and a large amount of people tolerate this shit because Blizzard is somehow ok with all this. Fucking stupid.

It's fine no harm done. Aspergers tends to just make one socially awkward and reclusive because of it, and while many of the GG types and gamers in general share that trait (not all have aspergers though) it generally doesn't affect your way of thinking in any way. Environmental conditions, like who you surround yourself with, likely play a bigger role there than any type of condition would.

I've been a fan of his since Summoning Insight in 2015, it has always been entertaining listening to him and Montecristo shit on esports. That said, I always had a sneaking suspicion not many people here would like him, and have actually been surprised that he hasn't held as overt of a right wing viewpoint as his demeanor would convey. Overall, he seems like your 'classical liberal' types, and remains one of my favorite people to listen to in the League of Legends community.
Don't be ridiculous. I sank well over 8 hours into League of Legends. I know what I'm talking about when I say it is objectively bad. Would be great on Switch though.

A lot of the current socio-political trends/currents synergize with and overlap with a lot of these online 'communities'. Gamer Gate being a signaling precursor to all of this cultural, psychological, ideological warfare.
Remember, games are inherently psychologically manipulative.

You can call him a piece of shit if you'd like, but none of what he's saying is surprising if you tune into his content. He's no Colin Moriarty who tries to remain somewhat tactful and diplomatic, regardless of having multiple instances of edgy tweets and messages, Thorin is full on that guy. He gets amusement out of it.
