When Brawl showcased Pit for the first time it was as if he hadn't been missing in action for over a decade. Not only was he back but he was completely modernised - he even had a a 3D trophy model in Melee with a drastically different interpretation of the character. The interesting thing with Pit is this resurrected design in Super Smash Bros. would become the basis of the character going forward and he would dawn the exact same getup in Kid Icarus Uprising. Modern Pit completely feels like Sakurai's character and it's only fitting that he would also direct Uprising.
A few attributes were lifted from Myths and Monsters such as his darker hair colour but for the most part, this was a complete reimagining of Pit and it's very hard to go back to his older interpretation.
