Yeah the red backround is pretty lame. A landscape view of NYC would be great.
I have one pre-ordered but think I am leaning towards picking up the 500 million edition just shown. Wish we had some in hand pics similar to the unboxing vid Sony did for the 500 million edition.
Some UK retailers are adding a steelbook to orders of the game.
The front art was created by Marvel artist Alexander Lozano.
Does anyone know if this is the same steelbook that comes with the Special Edition and Collector's Edition, or will premium buyers be stuck with the plain looking one? Also, why is there no Spider-Man logo on the spine?

So are you saying the US Collector's Edition won't have the steelbook cover by Alexander Lozano?
I'm saying none of the Collector's Editions anywhere will have that packaged in the box, no.
I was going to get the spiderman ps4 pro,but decided not to,i rather get the newly announced see thru limited blue ps4 pro i did get the collectors instead.
Well that's annoying, I still want to have that steelbook separately but am not willing to buy the game twice for it, that is ridiculous. I was able to buy the steelbook for Horizon and WipEout separately on Amazon for a reasonable price, but looks like this isn't the case.
Thanks for the update though. Do you know when/if we'll get a look at any updated art for the Special/Collector's Edition? If I'm not mistaken it's usually a week before release that PlayStation Access gets their hands on with them, but I don't like having to wait until a few days before release to find out what these things I've spent extra money on will actually look like. I understand about the statue situation, but everything else we should know about way in advance.
Yeah I don't know if UK retailers are throwing it in on CE purchases or not. Honestly I had never seen it until it showed up online, so I'm not much help in this regard especially as you get through multiple layers of additional separation between me and retailer promos in individual countries.
Also the appearance of items on the CE Beauty Shot is updated on the website as they come in. As soon as I physically have one in hand, we'll post photos of stuff as well except for the statue.
All I really want is for my steelbook not to arrived damaged. No scratches, no dents, no marks where the paint chipped off, no large dot that draws the attention away, nothing. I just want it to arrive without any marks or scuffs. That would be fantastic.

Yea it is terrible. Wanted to change my order from store pickup to shipping because I will be out of town for a couple of weeks and they can't do it because it is not in stock....

never understood their system.
I am afraid of going to the order page almost in fear of my order getting deleted with their backwards system.

Do we know if the Pre-Order bonuses can be bought after launch? I want the Collectors Edition but it's seemingly sold out everywhere and I'm not buying it twice so I can get both...
the pre order bonuses involve getting 5 skill points earlier at the start immediately.. And then skins that you can make / unlock later game. So you are not missing anything. You would still get everything

My issue is multifaceted. Ordered in early April, before we even knew we were going to need to buy a home. Now we've moved, and I can't change my shipping address or billing address or anything on the order, solely because it's sold out. They cannot edit or change anything on their end unless it comes back in stock or the order has already shipped. Neither option is good, so I looks like I'll be cancelling.
This is why I never bought into their GCU (and gave in back in January because Amazon sucks now). I had always read about these issues with other game releases, and hesitated to put myself in that situation with an item I really wanted.
Oh well. It's just a luxury.
don't get me wrong, your situation is a nasty one regarding the game, but at least if it was going to get delivered, there is a chance it can come day before. I have had like five games or movies come day before so far in the last 12 months.
I wonder how they ship that stuff. Chances are you could delivery intercept it as long as you were on top of the tracking number when they ship. Re direct to hold at the UPS / FedEx hub, etc, as long as you haven't moved long-distance
Sorry if this has been asked already, but does the CE include the steelbook and the regular case, or just the steelbook?
Pretty sure it's just the Steelbook but I wish it was both as I love the art and look of the regular case. I really wish all CE's included both.
Yeah, I really appreciate when they do. I'd much rather the steelbook be something I put on display, and have an actual case to put in my collection.
Yep, when the package ships contact UPS/FedEx and ask them to hold the package for pickup. As long as you do it right when it ships, shouldn't be an issue. Unless like he said, you moved far away.

thought they were talking about the spider man game with the statue, pretty sure that was never stocked.
Hey jstevenson how do the three post-launch chapters work for the digital deluxe edition? They seem to be the only difference between the normal digital version and the digital deluxe so unsure if they're exclusive to that version, time limited or what?
Edit: think I've been misreading it, so am I right in thinking that "The City That Never Sleeps" is a future paid-for DLC that has three chapters, some missions, characters and suits? Which you get included in the DD version/
