neither of the things you just said is accurate, but ok, maybe the trailers have yet to convince you --- the preview coverage does contradict your statement tho
No kidding, it's as if we hadn't released something like 40+ minutes of pure gameplay footage over the last 2 months.
I see they put out the trailer that speaks to the kids with music they like to hear that almost everyone does nowadays.

With their secrecy about the collector's edition spoiling the game, I doubt the review embargo will end before launch. Because whatever can be spoiled by the CE can be spoiled by reviews as well.
Arent PS4 exclusives a week early?

Why not just get Power as it fits in with the "With Great Power" shtick Spidey has going for him.
Plus if there are Multiple Spidermen, then the part of #No One Man Should Have All That Power# would fit much nicer.
It's usually a day before when is not a game from a first party studio.

Good to hear. It captures some of the best things we know about the game so far so the marketing team did a great job.
Sony (and I guess many other publishers) tend to put guidelines of things not to spoil in the reviews. This won't be a problem.

Why was it not accurate? You're right on the previews and I'm more than happy to be pleasantly surprised by the narrative. I'm still extremely hyped for the game. This game is day one for me and I hope it will be a big succes for you and the team.
I also predicted that God of War would get a 94 on the first page of the review thread. ;)
But it works because these guidelines are a must for any publication. Look at GoW previews for example not a single one talked specifics about that early boss fight (hell most didn't even mention it at all) or how its reviews didn't mention that specific moment midgame or its result at all. Leaks like the Spiderman's once can't be stopped by an embargo date so it's pointless to delay the embargo to stop these leaks since it's about what's in the official reviews not what people leak on the side.
Not what I meant. If you send the game out, information is gonna leak even if not in official reviews. Of course this could happen just by shipping the game out as well. Embargo/release dates wont stop that.
This is appearing on TV ads, they aren't gonna have a deep dive into mechanics. There's more then enough footage out there of how the game plays.
True, but I was talking about the embargo date. Sony will still send the game early for reviewers regardless unless they want reviews to come days after release, so putting it on release date when people can easily just put it on the internet before seems pointless. What they did with GoW is the way to go. Early embargo date to build pre-orders and excitement.
yeah look - at this point, you begin reaching the point of trying not to spoil yourself. The official stuff should all be pretty sanitized and we have a large bed of footage to work from, but you'll see new bits sprinkled in.
That said, between copies that work their way off trucks, or reviews (which while you can ask them to flag certain elements, and ask them to not discuss some things... it's a little unfair to over do this because they need to be able to discuss the game and characters etc) - there will be stuff out there that we would rather you experience when you play the game the first time, and this is already the case.
So be careful (on the Spider-Man PS4 Reddit in particular), and even in here, where people have posted spoilers as "theories" and other stuff underneath spoiler buttons.
And be cool and don't spoil it for others!

Great trailer and Era analyzes too much. Good lordy people, it's a trailer no need to crawl into the weeds.
Pretty sure it won't happen with this one. James Stevenson responded to a comment regarding the day before thing and basically said that history of those games doesn't mean anything for this one.
