Fitted suits look good but I'm not spending hundreds of dollars just to look fancy. I can perform my job equally well in jeans and a shirt. I know that many offices prioritize looking like you're good at work over actually working, but fuck that imo.

Suits are a great leverage tactic. Any time someone comes to work wearing one, our managers assume it was because they were interviewing elsewhere.

Being on time, not speaking in profanity lading slang, eating with proper utensils...these are condemnations of blue collar workers?

I think perhaps your opinion on the individuals that work such professions are too low.

Too low? I live in a community defined by its blue collar pride. I know what's it's like to have to work so many hours you're too lost with too much to do to be on time anywhere but work. Or working two jobs. People who have so little money after so much work that considering a fifty dollar suit is just not an unjustifiable expense, but an unaffordable expense. Whose manners at the table are rarely the kind that consider what kinds of knives are the best for what kinds of foods, and lord knows barbecues are hand food first and foremost. And yes, who swear like their ability to communicate depends on it.

And they're every bit as professional as any one person can be.
