I play it with a controller either way. It was easily doable on PS4.

I really dislike how they misled people with that Doom 2 presentation though. The way they played during the controller part had very little to do with the controller and more with the player. They were purposely standing still and shooting enemies and not moving around all that much. I played Doom on PS4 a lot closer to their kb/m footage than the controller. Aiming is faster on a mouse but when you choose not to move that's on the player.

They do play up the *cinematic* controller style presentation, I agree, but there's a hard limit to how fast a controller can aim even at the highest setting. I own Doom and the two latest Wolfensteins on consoles, as well, (mostly to show support for games I like) and it never reached the same kind of frenetic style to me.

Anyway, I hope next gen controllers make gyro aiming a standard. Such a great feature for the steam controller.

I managed to finish 3rd game this week (Lara Croft Go). That brings me to 39 games done since beginning of the year. At the beginning of this week i actually thought to finish 4 games to reach 40 finished games but i thought that it would be too much.

During an unfortunate period of my life where I was still watching anime, I checked that out and finished it, but came out of it really underwhelmed after a friend sang its praises. There was just no tension in it at all, because Akagi was just some stone-faced guy who would never lose, so it never mattered how much the stakes were raised. I suppose it didn't help that I didn't and still don't understand a lick of mahjong.
Watch Kaiji instead. Its the same author with a variety of gambling games and its *all* tension.

Voidu has Resident Evil 2 preorder up now so be ready when their next 30% off hits to get it for what will likely be the lowest price til release.

They also have Mega Man 11 and the X collections.
Voidu is weird; some titles will show up in some regions, in others it won't until later. @_@

Grabbed TY the Tasmanian Tiger for a dollar (from russian keys shop), pretty decent platformer/adventure for aussies.
But performance? Sheeesh, for ps2 game it lags hard in some places, even at 1080p lol, so i need to reduce some settings..

Our new logo.

Have it in the next OT.

Yep Brilliant - I think I might just post this along with my stock comment whenever this happens - that coincidentally none of these folks ever respond to because all the posts are driveby:

Despite Valve getting 0% of all retail and third party sales thanks to free key generation offered by Steam?

As opposed to console vendors that already take significantly more than 30%, or every other gaming digital distribution service on PC that also takes 30% but offers far far less in terms of features, protections, stability, functionality and usability in comparison to Steam?

What is it exactly that Steam should do to justify its 30% Industry standard cut that other clients do better?

Monkey Island 1 beaten, I overall enjoyed it but the Sword Fighting was the weakest part of the game mainly because of enemies randomness at speaking out new a insult. I must've spent 30 minutes just trying to complete the Sword trial @o@
Game still holds up to this day otherwise

Just report them as such and if they are repeat offenders, just mention that.

If it is obvious enough sure, but generally I don't have the time to check and I feel that is a mods duty not a random forum goer - even it is fairly obvious to look into

Drive-by and shitposts about Valve were responded properly by the mod team for a while after SteamEra changed into PC Gaming Era. Now it's the same as before.

I'm curious about your postulation that console vendors take more than 30%. What are you deriving this from?

So I found out what Story 0.3 and Story 0.4 difference is in KARAKARA2.

Apparently its two different episodes - each featuring a new character.

I played the first one last year but I guess it had 0.1 and 0.2.

Strange way to label each episode.

On 0.4 so I guess i'm halfway done with the game lol

the teen slasher angle is kind of really bad, but i do enjoy all the set pieces and how jumping from place to place feels a little bit more involved than in uncharted

i feel like the horror b movie part really allows this game to get away with lara going from "innocent" (their words) to "I'M GONNA KILL ALL OF YOU BASTARDS" lara

i much would rather be playing a less gruesome version of this game cos i didn't know what i was signing in for, but it's ok i guess

Play uncharted if you have a console or ps now

I tried tr 2013 but I'm already married to uncharted plus tr class and legend trilogy there really wasn't room for whatever tr 2013 and rottr was

Both retail and digital take 30% plus an additional console royalty fee. There are also further charges for different services dependant on features used in certain ecosystems, eg ad space, cloud storage / bandwidth if exceeding a certain level. Wasn't too long ago all consoles were charging per patch. Some free to play games end up with additional costs, but it is hard to get exact details for this stuff. Regardless, Steam generally avoids all this by swallowing the cost itself or simply not having a charging infrastructure for some abilities offered via SteamWorks or the store.

I enjoy Uncharted's characters and the set pieces in the series are the industry's best, but just looking at the gun play in comparison to Tomb Raider's? Maaan that's a toss up for me.

Ibis Island
The "To the Moon" anime will probably be a case where I prefer that over the original game itself.
The story was indeed good in TtM. But I wasn't a big fan of the gameplay.

Just so I'm clear here...are you saying that when a game is sold on Xbox marketplace or PSN that they take 30% plus an additional console royalty fee?

Or are you saying that when a game is sold at retail, that the brick and mortar store takes 30% and then the console owners take a royalty fee in addition to that?

Console owners often provide other things depending on various scenarios, like I've been on many teams where we sent devs onsite to help various 3rd party partners.

There are also exceptions that exist as an overall concept (fees can be waived for things) , so no product is the same and it would be impossible to see without viewing contracts. Stuff like getting advertisements co sponsored by a platform holder is worth something monetarily as well.

As far as infrastructure costs, with something like Azure , internally teams are "billed" as well. Valve is unique but can't be compared directly to what other platform owners are doing as business models greatly differ.

Try the Legend trilogy.

I'm a big fan personally. A lot more light hearted, a more archetypal heroic type of Lara. You might like it.

Legend is my favourite. Underworld is quite good too. A lot of people also say Anniversary is the best (remake of 1 I think), but I liked Legend the best.

The platforming and puzzles are very fun. The gunplay is good imo if you view it in the context of the game being a platformer first.

I have a friend who is playing monster hunter world. I know this because it says he has started playing monster hunter world every couple minutes. Is this like an advertisement feature? wtf

Monster Hunter is just so good.

If you loved Dragon's Dogma, MH World is a must play. Toppling big monsters just right at the last moment never felt this sayisfying.

I want to try Monster Hunter. I'm waiting until I upgrade my PC and the game has gone down in price. What if I liked the combat in Dragon's Dogma but hated almost everything else (e.g. the story, setting, characters, towns, quests, ...)?

Story is mostly irrelevant in MHW.

You spend most of your time hunting monsters to either kill or capture, while scavenging for crafting items and upgrading your gear w/ monster parts in between hunts.

Combat varies, but with so many weapon types, it'd be difficult to not find a weapon which matches your playstyle.

You can also play around in the arena, answer other players' SOS calls, etc.

Best game

i played one of the old ones once, might've been legend, but only for a little bit (you know, besides the original on ps1 and 10 year old zky was like fuck this shit what's with these controls)

i know someone said there are lots of spiders in one of them so i kind of disregarded the series after i heard that
