Spider-Man Hype Check - Less than a week out

People on Era are wishing with every fiber of their being that this game flops. Too bad, Benji already told us the game's pre-orders are tracking faster than even God of War. This game is about to sell dumb copies.
Hype is below zero.
Cant say I am a huge spiderman fan. If it turns out great I might pick up a used copy when the price has dropped a lot.

I really want to play this but for once there are multiple titles I want to play this holiday season plus im in the middle of my Kingdom Hearts re-run playthrough before 3 so sacrifices are going to have to be made. I love you Spidey, but i'm going to have to pick you up in 6 months during a PSN sale.
It's as much a QTE game as Resi 4 or Bayonetta, probably even less.
The most awesome move would be a surprise PSVR mode of some kind added in later after launch.
What is it with people downplaying this game? Spiderman is one of the most popular, if not the most popular superhero right now and has been for decades and Sony is on a commercial and critical streak right now with their exclusives.

And I think you're main "problem" with the game...is that it's only on PS4, if you catch my drift? Get a grip.
Nah, I don't really have any interest in the property so it's unlikely I'll pick it up but I may grab it used next year if the response here is through the roof.
I still think it's really neat that fans of the franchise are getting something that seems like it'll be really solid. It's my understanding that that's a major rarity for these types of games.

I have about $1000 worth of spider-man comics in graphic novel form on a shelf (including the first big arc about Mister Negative), I get annoyed when I read OP titles that can't spell character right and Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive is my favorite game of this generation so far, because they nailed the traversal so perfectly (well, and because Stephanie Lemelin's voice acting kick's major ass).
Yet, zero hype for this.
My hype levels were ultra high before E3 2017. I think the QTE showing in 2017 and the dark, scripted chase scene they showed this year weren't for me. The swinging animations look completely awesome, but because spidey's moves look so cool, they will be very repetitive from what I can tell. I also don't trust Insomniac to nail a Batman-esque or better combat system.
Lastly, my backlog of really good games is long. So long, I haven't even played Uncharted 4 after buying it 2 years ago and UC2 being my favorite game of last gen.

I'm super hyped for it - since I finished God of War I've been wanting another action game with story and this should fit nicely! Plus I love Insomniac!
Me too, I have the ps4 pro bundle reserved at Amazon. Not sure why since I already have a ps4 and a Xbox one X... Between rdr 2 and this, I'm extremely excited about September and October :)
Your posts don't even make sense. I don't have a problem with the game. I'm super excited for it. You're the one who clearly has a problem with Spider-Man. I also own and enjoy lots of Xbox One games. So exclusivity is irrelevant to me.
You seem to spend a lot of time on this forum attacking the PS4 and its excellent exclusive games. When I see your name, I know there's a good chance you will be trashing something PS4-related despite its huge commercial success and renowned exclusives.
How about you get a grip? This is the second thread I've seen you talking about having a problem with Spider-Man being mentioned with RDR2 as if it's a small game, imagine having a problem with that.
It was preordered the moment "a kid from Queens" was uttered in that reveal trailer.

Hyped as hell. Probably won't be playing right at launch, unless I manage to finish Kiwami 2 in a week, but Spidey is preordered. I'm starting Spidey as soon as I finish that. Was contemplating playing Dragon Quest first too but Spidey will be a lot harder to avoid spoilers for

Spider-Man has been my favorite super hero since I was born and after arkham city came out i couldn't stop thinking about a Spider-Man game in the same style. This game looks to be just that so I'm hyped beyond belief
Probably doesn't own a X1. I would've loved to play Sunset as well, but I didn't wanna buy a console just for that one game.
Hyped, but also confused on where to allocate my time. The next semester of classes is gonna be wild for me, so time is already limited and here we have DQXI and Spider-Man coming out in a span of mere days of each other.
More than anything though, I just want to be charged for them and get it over with. Spending $300+ between two games is gonna be a bit of a hit, so I'd rather get it over with sooner than later.
