Cool, so no actual response.

Do you want players to have that freedom, to match the Coaches ability to up and leave for another school, or not?

Or do you just don't want players to choose to go to Alabama?

Is Ole Miss trying to come up with whatever dumb mascot every couple years so people give up and let them go back to the rebels?

Cool article from The Athletic on the rehab process for ACLs now and how UGA is getting players back so quickly. Zakir White and Azeez Ojulari had ACL injuries in senior year of highschool and are now fully participating 8 months later.

Gist of it being that they allow swelling to go down for about 10 days post injury and do some other exercises pre-surgery to build confidence etc. And then post-surgery it's obviously a lot of rehab but something called an Eccentron has been used there since Murray's injury and which Gurley credits with his quick recovery. They also do a lot of martial arts training in rehab as well as jumping tests that measure weight distribution on landing which helps to indicate healing by how much weight they're putting on it.

I'm assuming most big programs have something similar in place, though UGAs head athletic trainer (Ron Courson) is supposed to be one of the best.

I blew my ACL/MCL out in high school my sophomore year. Took me 14 months to come back. It blows my mind how quickly these kids come back now a days.

Terrell Lewis just fucked up his knee, and the staff still thinks he might could play in the postseason.

Shit wild.

Did they do the surgery the day after the injury? That used to be the norm.

8 month recovery time still blows my mind.

It was two days. MRI the day after, then surgery. Knee looked like a ballon. Then they had me in rehab the day after surgery, I passed out when they took my bandage/brace off. My leg was all the colors your leg isn't suppose to be.

So, I'm getting in season form by reading Season of Saturdays by Michael Weinreb, which is currently a buck on Kindle.

It's not half bad, though it's not what I was expecting. I was hoping for more of an in-depth look at each of the games, but Weinreb instead uses the games as a jumping-off point to discuss topics around them, like the infamous ND/Michigan State tie to talk about how Alabama not being integrated likely cost them the national title that year, or Rutgers 6, Princeton 4 to talk about the early origins of the game and how the forward pass helped tame it. Apparently the forward pass was the second most important invention of the 20th century!

I will also note with slight distaste that Weinreb is a Penn State fan. He doesn't sound like one of the delusional ones, at least thus far, but he does mention Penn State in context of him growing up and watching them play.

It's just me, or the last episode of the podcast not actually available? (I'm on Apple)

This is as good a place as any to ask this question. I need a decently priced glass/ceramic flask for... reasons. Any recommendations in particular? I've done the plastic flask thing before and wasn't a fan.

Hey All,

Still working through tableau site, my entire team was out last week so I was slammed at work. Ill probably put out the good doc for the pick em this week and it can collect data and then hopefully I should be able to ingest all the data into tableau for easy viewing and tracking.

So basically testing your code in prod. That's the only way to go.

Our idiot fans keep betting on us winning it all, so it's never worth to just throw a hundred bucks down

Have they seen how brutal the schedule is?

Which brings up: how the fuck did we get Wisconsin three years in a row?

While I don't bet on anything sports related because it's so damn random most of the time, Michigan is a team I could easily see going all the way. If Patterson plays well, which I am sure he will then you guys have the defense and playmakers around him to easily make a run.

I'm not sure why Patterson playing well is a sure thing. He has potential but he hasn't shown much so far in college to indicate that he could take a team all the way.

If he plays well, we will be very good good. Still all 3 rivalry games on the road is extremely tough.

These are my thoughts, I have yet to understand the enormous amount of hype surrounding him.

I didn't say it was a sure thing, I said I assume he will. He could fall flat on his face just like Dwayne Haskins could do or anyone for that matter. I however feel he has a higher chance of being successful than not while at Michigan.

Heh. So the big 10 is more like the SEC than I thought

No it's more like almost any person caught for a DUI for the first time 99% of the time is going to have a plea accepted by a Judge. We could check that Judge's history and I guarantee you he has accepted a plea to reduce charges almost every single time from a first time offender no matter who they are. That's just how that shit works, which is annoying but it is what it is.

After the QB play last season there's nowhere to go but up. Any sort of competent play from the O-line and QB combined with the D is going to be nice.

Shea's shown enough that Michigan fans should be excited. He ain't finna win them a title, most likely, but he should still be successful.

I'd be curious of the race of those people.

Cause that ain't true in my experience.

Yeah unfortunately race is probably going to play a factor sometimes which sucks and I would prefer any Judge that has that mindset to be impeached but we all know that shit isn't happening.

Interesting comments from Lane on Saban changing his approach to playoff practices last season (which I think had everything to do with our defense being so depleted by injuries that he had to take it relatively easy on em in preparation for the faceoff with Clemson).

Also, glad to hear Ale Kaho seems to be starting off on the right foot with us. We really need the depth at linebacker.
