Not sure this Punisher show is for me. Bernthal is great but I can't shake the feeling that I'm made to feel bad for a psychopath with guns and find him cool.
I've never gotten the point of Punisher being the main character centering a series. He's an anti-hero, a sympathetic guy who ultimately went off the deep end and is there to serve as a contrast and warning for the heroes about what happens if they cross a line.

So I heard some rumors and thoughts about

the Captain Marvel in the 90s with the War Kree / Skrulls as a background and how it would lead to an MCU adaptation of Secret Invasion. What do you think of this, plausible ? Skrulls aren't tied with F4 rights ?

I think Secret Invasion is a great concept they could easily adapt it without some of their characters in the comics. They would probably start the foreshadowing in Avengers 4 and the next phase 4 movies, using GOTG 3 as well. Not sure about Jackson's Nick Fury though but it could also concern the Shield TV series.

Would they push it as far as having the invasion explaining every event since the beginning of the MCU ?

What do you guys think ?

You can do a great series through the eyes of someone like the punisher, thing is it either has to be a mini series or run through different point of views. Vigilante a character DC rebooted to be like the punisher in the 80s was a really point to that.

Skrulls are like Watchers. They can use Skrulls and Watchers but they can't use Super Skrull or Uatu.

I think Agents of SHIELD season 5 may give us some insight here; could rule stuff out if AoS uses the same concepts, or it could provide foreshadowing...

I stared at this way too long before seeing where the hell the rest of her arm was.

With all of this handing-over-the-mantle talk, I'm secretly hoping Marvel has made a clause in the actors' contract that says they can use them one more time 10-30 years from now. Bring back old man Stark with grey hair, a beard and director of a future Shield. Old Man Avengers.

That's be cool.

So is Hela dead? If not, is she taking the place of Lady Death? Thanos is attaining the gauntlet just to impress her/it. Kinda curious about it. This shit is really a sad love story honestly.

Hela taking place of Death makes very little sense. Especially since Death, the cosmic entity, is already established in the MCU as being a being that exists.

Hela and Death are on very different planes, and this early Thanos story (Infinity Gauntlet) only works if it is Death, who is much more powerful than he is and basically ignores him.

As for Hela, whether or not she is dead is kind of irrelevant, since she's Asgardian and Surtur caused Ragnarok. But I don't think she's gone for good if they want to bring her back.

I have not been on discord much. I am not feeling too well at the moment. I'll get back surely.

We don't know.

Did we add this thread to the community spotlight waiting list?

Recently watched the Doctor Stranges deleted scenes and I wish they had found a place for them, simply because it would have helped to relate more to Stephen and see what Kaecilius was up to.

I appreciate a lean movie but at 115m Doctor Strange is the shortest MCU film since the first Thor. It had too many important characters to introduce and wasn't particularly inventive at doing it either.

There is no Lady Death in Marvel Comics. It's just Death. Hela is a person. Death is a concept. Hela is angry and petty and spiteful. Death is indifferent. They are not interchangeable because they do not serve the same function.

Unless she has an undisclosed teleportation/extremely powerful regeneration ability in the MCU, she dead.

It won't be super clear until we can frame by frame a blu-ray but on my second viewing I was looking for it and it's entirely possible she's teleporting away as it looked like she may disappear into a green cloud just before the sword hits not after.

I just learned Walton Goggins is in Antman & The Wasp.
I hope to god his role is nice and meaty. The man is awesome. What they did with Kate Blanchett has me doubting it though.

Also, I really wish they hadn't killed off 90% of all the villains featured in the movies. There are certainly more, but some of them deserve to come back. To have Red Skull be dead since phase one is weird. Ultron also had so much potential. And of course Hela.

I also miss their shorts. They were so good. Especially the Mandarin one.

I miss the Shield aspect of the universe. It's weird how it's completely vanished, more or less.
I feel like I'm wrong on this one though and they made the right decision, but I'm just nostalgic about it. I just miss looking at Cobie Smulders.

I think I might like GoTG2 more than the first. I can't fucking decide.

God, that felt good to get out.

I do think Phase 3 has beefed up their villains, they are still jobbers but you get more motivation from them and a sense of purpose other than I'M THE BAD GUY.

It won't be super clear until her dismembered decaying head is displayed on a pike the way you people keep bringing it up.

Apparently he's playing Sonny Burch, some weapons manufacturer who is originally closer linked to Tony Stark.

All bets are off when IW and Avengers 4 hit. They can just bring most of them back. I wish they gave Malekith another chance and made him closer to the comics.

I also miss their shorts. They were so good. Especially the Mandarin one.

They've talked about bringing them back, they're just super fucking busy making movies.

I hope they bring SHIELD back post A4 and have Black Widow and Bucky as agents.

Vol. 2 > Vol. 1 by a bit so no surprise there.

It's easy to forget Civil War when you're streaming a low res pirated copy the week of release while texting and reading the GAF OT.

Understandable.

In fairness, Cap and Bucky in Wakanda was the post-credits scene. Or mid-credits? I'm struggling to remember if Civil War had one or two.

At the same time, it ended on an awesome giant panther statue.

It was the mid-credits scene, the other one was Peter Parker showing off his new Gadget (Spidey-Signal) he got from Stark. The last ones (post-credit scene) are mostly funny/easter egg scenes while the mid-credits are plot relevant to the movie or upcoming movies.

Oh, right. Actually, I don't think that spidey-signal scene was in the early screening I went to.

I thought it was funny that the Spider Signal was the main focus of Civil War's post credits scene but he ends up essentially never using it in Homecoming.

Hope we get a basic non-Stark suit in Homecoming 2.

And Michelle haning from a mannequin on a rope.
Do you mean basic like without all the tech or basic as in not the one that he as in Infinity War? 'Cus I hope Homecoming 2 has him back with a red and blue suit, like his iconic look, but I hope he keeps all the tech. No tech means no Karen and I can't do without Karen.
So what's the point. How are you supposed to do spin-off's without Spider-man.
That's why it's so dumb and why their Spiderverse without a Spider is gonna crash and burn real quick. They're riding off Homecoming's goodwill without actually being able to use that goodwill.

Has sony said how Venom will tie into Homecoming?

As far as we know, it won't.

Hope we get a basic non-Stark suit in Homecoming 2.

And Michelle haning from a mannequin on a rope.

I'd be happy with the Homecoming suit with minor adjustments. Different material, slightly thicker black web lines, deeper blue, larger eyes. Landing between Homecoming and ASM2 suits.

I thought the suit AI worked as an excuse for Peter to talk to himself, without actually talking to himself.
