It's his job. There are laws in place.

C'mon man, I get why you're upset but you can't seriously think you can legally do something about a streamer playing with who he wants. It's literally a guy broadcasting his gameplay playing with friends, he has made his name his own company and can do what he chooses with that freedom. Don't dilute your points going down this weird rabbit hole, anyone can stream solo and nothing can stop that.

You see, this is such a garbage counterargument. We are saying "The reason why he is refusing to stream with women is horribly misogynistic and an example of sexism in gaming culture" and you are responding with "Do you want a law to force him to stream with women?" as if that was even the question to begin with!
Actually bear force one DID claim that it was against the law. That's the reason I replied, because I'm questioning his knowledge of the laws

For the size of his channel his chat is the least toxic i've seen. His mods moderate the channel agressive and his subs tend to be younger and more positive than someone like Docs chat. Yesterday i watched doc get partnered with a random in CoD and the guy freaks out about how much he loves Doc, etc. In his excitement he yells out his own channel name..within a minute there were 1,000 people in the guys channel saying everything nasty and racist I've ever seen or heard..literally some form of the N word was spammed 10 times a second.

Why are you even watching Doc if you don't want to watch toxicity? That's the dude's schtick.

Tyler "Ninja" Blevins explains why he is a dumbass

It was clear he was a dumb ass when he stumbled all over himself saying the n word. People still stan for the dude because he's popular.

Once you start discriminating against a Protected Class you've crossed over preference.

With some of the responses here I think he made the right call. Him commenting on it ironically get him in the spotlight too.

Lol at people saying streamers have to be forced to stream with others as it's a "workplace", like how men have to work with women at "real jobs".

Get off your high horse, stop yelling at clouds. You know nothing about streaming culture and it's cringy reading some of these responses.

It's a dumb question to ask to begin with, but Ninjas dumbass gave a really bad response, why not just "Its not intentional, I just play with whoever else is big in the fortnite game and people who I can click well with"? Dude needs better PR ASAP.

This is the Henry Cavill situation all over again. Ninja is well within his right to decide who he does and doesnt stream with and Cavill is allowed to not date because of fear of allegations.

Eh I think streamers are private contractors, not actual employees of Twitch. Streamers are not offered health insurance, 401Ks, PTO, or any other benefits that come with a normal job. I'm pretty sure Twitch treats each streamer as a separate business partner with the workplace being the streamers stream. They only have to follow the TOS.

Streamers are considered self employed.

Correct most Twitch streamers are self-employed in their own company.

It's time for Story Time from other streamers!

This part of the chain is just weird:

Someone hired a PI to find evidence he was cheating, someone else found porn star lookalikes and sent me videos of them. He received countless emails about what a scumbag he was and how he shouldn't be with me. This continued for the first two years we were together.

And Dodger's good friend, Jesse:

Proving that people just don't know how to stay out of other people's lives.

EDIT: May got there before me...but I got another piece of info also relevant.

I understand being frustrated with bullheadedness in the thread, but this is the most nonsensical shit, dude. There is apparent evidence that the rumor-mongering, gossip, and harassment, is real for streamers and internet personalities in these situations. Whether or not you think Ninja's approach to that issue is appropriate is one thing, but your Mom example is beyond irrelevant.

how so?

The threat of rumors exist anywhere, at anytime.

Hey ERA, I saw Giever pick his nose yesterday on stream. Should you stop interacting with Black Males as a result, Giever?

The whole thing is nonsensical. Writing off an entire gender because "rumors". That shit makes sense to you?

Maybe it'd be the same thing if Cavill made those same allegations against other people.

But he didn't, while Ninja did. He's well within his right to be a hypocrite and enabler of sexism, but people are also well within their rights to call him out on it.

Especially, again, as he wants to be seen as a role model to his young audience.

Dumb to make a statement like this when there was no need for any in the first place. Although could just be a tactic to get more views.

This thread once again proves how out of touch Era is with every other community on the internet and the world though. Legal action, lmao. Someone needs to update the "old man yells at clouds" with "Era yells at ___"

Guy has 10 million subs.....10 million subs
He probably doesn't like living under that type of microscope.

People talking about "ninja this and ninja that"
What about the poor woman that will eventually get dogged by some loser. 10 million people leaves a lot of room for shit individuals to be in the mix.

It's for the best. The internet is....well....filled with assholes.

Fuck this piece of shit sexist coward. This is exactly what you get when men view women as literal pieces of meat and nothing else, and he's not helping. I keep using this word and it keeps getting more and more relevant each time: pathetic.

So what, he is a sexist cause he doesn't like rumours and tabloid-like news about him?

Okay.

No, it's because he's letting rumors from morons actively gatekeep women out of the games streaming space. Grow a fucking spine and moderate your community instead of tucking your tail between your legs and running. He's sexist because of his pathetic priorities and he deserves zero respect or sympathy over this.

Dumb to make a statement like this when there was no need for any in the first place. Although could just be a tactic to get more views.

Fuck those communities and fuck what you perceive as "the world". I'm glad ERA is nothing like them even though people like you are trying really, really hard to change that.

So you admit streaming culture is sexist then yes?

If this is about him spreading rumours about other streamers then I won't defend his actions on that. Yes, it was idiotic and hypocritical, and he deserves to be called out, but his decision to leave his wife out of the same drama he perpetuates is still understandable.

I disagree. It's his personal channel in the end and he explains that excluding women from it is to protect his marriage.
That doesn't change anything though. Just because it's his channel doesn't suddenly exclude it from being a sexist decision, and thus doesn't exclude it from criticism. He can do what ever he wants, but that doesn't mean every single one of his decisions is just dandy.

The reason this shit would never fly on a talk show which is ran by one person in a similar vein is not just because that one person doesn't personally "own" the show. It's because the other people who play a part in the said talk show (ie the production company, network or whatever) absolutely fucking realise that if they came out and said "Oh we're not having any female guests on this show at all" that it wouldn't fly at all, and people would call it out for the sexist rubbish that it is. It doesn't matter if it's about his marriage, because it's still sexist.

How are people not getting this?

You are literally defining exactly one person as Era.... That's pretty funny.
