Making up speculation about an affair is not sexist lmao. That's just someone being a shitty person and trying to find drama where there isn't any.

Women are always assumed to be in gaming because they want to get men... that's why this shit sytarts up, because it;s assumed a woman must be fucking a dude to be playing, that's sexism bro.

He could. But even making a joke could be interpreted and blown up into a conspiracy about how they're actually secretly having an affair.

In a perfect would there wouldn't be toxic people sending him and his wife hate for playing with a girl but he has to take the extreme precautions to protect himself and his wife from that behavior.

Some people are just naturally flirty too without actually looking for something, like me for example. Or my dad. Or my wife for that matter. We are not looking for anything more but it's psrg of our personalities. But we are not on the he internet where people like to blow things out of proportion, outrage, gossip, etc. heck even at times this site resembles TMZ.

Geez some of you guys can be so extreme.

Famous gamer guy doesn't want to be involved in internet gossip, which we all know is bound to happen since his audience are mostly immature 12 year old boys which see the most basic of interaction with the other sex as courtship, and we get all upset about because that makes him sexist or misogynist.

Guy just wants to play video games and make bank. Why should he be obligated to do anything more than that?

Please read the article. Please. Someone who doesn't want to be involved in internet gossip shouldn't be spreading the exact type of gossip he wants to avoid, just about other people. He's a hypocrite using his hypocrisy to justify avoiding female streamers.

He does not just want to play video games either. He has publicly stated he wants to be a role model for young gamers. When you put yourself on that pedestal, you'd best be prepared for the heightened scrutiny that involves. He created the obligations himself.

I've never heard of people claiming to be into gaming to get men. You know for a women to be fucking a guy, the guy has to also be a part of it. Claiming an affair is towards both the man and the woman.

In what world is the implication that a female streamer streaming with a male streamer must mean they are in a relationship not sexist? In what world?

You haven't heard women claiming to be in gaming to get men because that's not why women get into gaming, but it is what many many many sexist gamer bros assume women get into gaming for.... I mean that shit is part of what helped Gamergate gain traction.

He's shit, his chat is toxic, but I can't disagree with him on this point.

For the size of his channel his chat is the least toxic i've seen. His mods moderate the channel agressive and his subs tend to be younger and more positive than someone like Docs chat. Yesterday i watched doc get partnered with a random in CoD and the guy freaks out about how much he loves Doc, etc. In his excitement he yells out his own channel name..within a minute there were 1,000 people in the guys channel saying everything nasty and racist I've ever seen or heard..literally some form of the N word was spammed 10 times a second.

Okay...what does that have to do with protecting his wife from getting nonstop messages about an affair?

Lets start with step one.

The fact that this is his proposed reasoning for such an action....

Can we all agree this a huge indictment on the maturity of the "gaming" community and that this group has a serious issue with accepting women?

You asked me how he partook in sexist culture, I said him going on some other channel and assuming the girl streamer was fucking the guy streamer was part of sexist culture and not simply "dramatic" like you've claimed 7 times over.

I honestly don't think this is that much of a big deal. It's his choice who he wants to stream with, and if he wants to avoid potential drama, being the biggest streamer in the world and someone who plainly loves his wife quite a lot, I don't have a problem with this.

The internet and YouTube is weird and would totally run with all sorts of rumors or stories of him doing anything less than perfect.

In short, it's his call and his life.

actually let's back up to a pre-step question that I have for you

Are you aware there are plenty of non-gaming married couples in the world, where one (or both) spouses do not like the other to hang out alone with opposite sex?

That is absolutely not exclusive to only gaming married couples.

Yup. he could have maybe worded it a bit better. But the gaming, streaming and drama communities are toxic as shit, and if he's looking to avoid all that. Then good for him. I'm sure his wife is cool with this too. It's his life.

The dude also has to be sleeping with the girl. Saying "those two must be in a relationship" is not a sexist comment. It's a stupid comment made to stir up drama. I can easily say "that dude is fucking the girl streamer" or "that girl is fucking the dude streamer". Both are shitty comments but neither are sexist.

Pokimane, the largest female steamer streamed with a guy and comments about how they were having an affair starting surfacing so she had to take a break and rarely streams with the guy now.

It can happen on both sides. I'm not downplaying sexism or saying it doesn't exist in gaming culture. I'm saying that making claims about affairs isn't necessarily a sexist comment.

This is a lot like that dumb shit Cavill said a couple months ago.

It really isn't. Cavil was making an idiotic statement that he can't date women because they falsely accuse him of sexual assault later.

What ninja is saying here is true, if he streams with any women, there will be rumors that they are dating. It's a fact and it's the same as if a celebrity is seen with a celebrity of the opposite gender, there's rumors they are dating.

Given how toxic the gaming community can be, I can see why he'd want to avoid these rumors, especially since he is married. I wouldn't be surprised if he harmlessly streamed with someone, rumors came out they were dating, and then his fans harass her for being a "home wrecker"

Right but the reason for the assumption is the underlying sexism against women in gaming.

Yiu can keep denying that but that's the reality.

Good grief! There are actors and actresses who work together and are probably friends who also have to deal with shipping nonsense tenfold

But at the very least, they don't go around shipping other fellow actors themselves.

And whatever romantic relationship they have, it's not failing because of it.

I mean he's a entertainer, you don't see any tv show hosts, or movies where people flat out refuse to be on it with the opposite gender. Why? Because it's ridiculous, that's why.

so what? who are you to question someone's married life and their spouse?

there's no law that says he is forced to stream with anyone. I have no idea why you're taking this topic so seriously with so many replies, you have no right to tell a married couple how they should act toward each other

or there's another solution which is to not watch Ninja. (personally I've never even watched Ninja's stream because I have zero interest in Fortnite)

but I know plenty of married couples in real life where they don't like the other to hang out (alone) with opposite sex. I never say anything to them, because it's none of my fucking business and I don't care

...you're really going to keep going in circles aren't you?

If you don't support his actions you don't need to watch him. He's going to have hundreds of thousands of other people who still do.

I think he used this excuse as a way to basically keep it neutral without coming off like a complete douche, but in reality, I think the real reason is that he just doesn't want these less than spectacular streamers leeching off his success. It amazes me that he even has to make an excuse as to why he won't play with certain streamers.

Like just look at this fucking tweet : https://twitter.com/skipperr/status/1028390365114462208

"If you exclude yourself from playing video games with women because of "gossip" and "rumors," you're only propagating the idea that playing video games with women only starts drama." Clearly it doesn't matter if he plays with these streamers or not, because they are going to start drama no matter what. Ninja can't win this battle.

It's funny you bring up that example, because can you guess that the divorce rate and relationship problem percentage is higher in the celebrity industries??

And it's certainly not hard to understand why that is. If I was a movie star or rock star or professional athlete, I would never get married because it would be practically impossible to not be in situations with temptations

1. Ninja said this is his decision, not his wife's.

2. This is about Ninja and Gaming.

Marriage is between two people and bringing up how one isnt comfortable with the opposite sex doesn't excuse just how asinine of a request that is.

Again, this is about gaming. We can get to general sexism in a bit

Oh yeah, wanna answer the question now? Does this not show an issue with "Gamers" if Ninja is so afraid of his fanbase, that playing a video game with a woman is going to disrupt his marriage?

So what?!? What is wrong with people?

Because its the literal definition of bigotry and misogyny.

I have every right to call this shit out. Your defending it should be looking into.

I don't understand the big deal here. He's just like all those famous male actors that don't work with female actors out of respect for their wives and girlfriends. There's so many that I'm having trouble naming one.

Dumbass comparison. People are familiar with actors and aside from crazies know they are playing characters. People actually feel like the know their favorite online personalities personally because of the format. "Friend simulator".

So your defense of Ninja from a woman saying hey by refusing outright to play with any women you're perpetuating the idea that playing with women causes drama is to accuse said woman of causing drama... really?
