So you can't see the difference between 2 friends talking on stream and thousands of anonymous viewers spreading rumors and gossip in order to hurt Ninja's marriage?

It's weird how you're completely ignoring Ninja's wife in the discussion. She exists you know.
Wow, it's almost like there'd be video proof if he actually did something. He shouldnt have to worry about it, if hes not doing it. Unless hes a child and cant control himself around women

Simple logic. If you're marriage is crippled by baseless jealousy you need so much self reflection.

I really don't think there's any need to go after Ninja's marriage, because that isn't fair.

Wanting to avoid the internet mob targeting his wife is a very valid fear, and there's no way for us to know their personal situation. There are other problems with his position that don't require questioning his marriage.

Isn't it funny how nothing is ever really a Gaming Problem.
Yep! It's such a sad and pathetic response.

"Oh no, but everywhere has issues, everywhere has shitty people!" Literally EVERY single person who says that is part of the problem and contributes to making Gaming's Communities more Toxic. Yes, everywhere in the world has problems. That's not the point and it's bullshit whataboutism. Start by cleaning up your own smaller communities that you're a part of and make it less of a problem for Gaming.

Tell people to be decent, call out racism and sexism, ban people who persist in being assholes. Don't accept bad behavior and hand-wave it away and act like it's not Gaming's problem, because it sure as hell is.

Right in cue for making sense. Musicians actors social media personalities all go through the exact same thing if their communities spreading rumors and gossiping. Yet only gamers do this in your mind

This in particular is absolutely a problem that Gaming Communities have and you're part of the problem by dismissing it with this bullshit. You, personally, are adding to the cesspool.

Doesn't matter. The twitch streamers would still harass his wife for him streaming with a girl and make claims about her having an affair. It can still damage a relationship if it isn't true.

If anything I would say this is more beneficial to his marriage than anything.

Imagine being his wife and having to hear all the time about how your husband is "flirting" with other girls. Even if it isn't true it can damage the relationship to hear shit like that.

For whatever stupid reason, streaming games is sort of an industry where fans idolize to rather extreme levels, and since there's very little disconnect between a fan and the streamer (you can interact with them on a daily basis, send them mail that they will actually read, and rather easily track them down) the danger levels are actually surprisingly high for a lot of things. Anyone who is married to a successful streamer probably worries all the time about their significant other being attacked, trolled, swatted, harassed, etc. Probably there is less concern about infidelity, but after what happened with Dr Disrespect, it should be a concern.

Again, I dislike Ninja, but I'm not going to give him shit over this one. I mean, he literally said the N word on stream, and people are worried about his interactions with women? C'mon. Bigger fish to fry.

He's not wrong in that his audience would do that, but you have to ask why do some of these streamers attract these idiots in the first place, and it really isn't hard to create an atmosphere that tells them they aren't welcome... assuming you actually care.

So you feel married men should be friending random women on the internet, and playing/chatting together?
You have a really fucked up view on relationships if you think you shouldn't be able to make friends with the opposite sex while in a straight relationship. I guess you also think bisexual people shouldn't make any friends if they're in a relationship.

This thread is quite embarrassing. Wtf. This shit is why I don't really "identify" as a gamer, either. Excelsior fighting the good fight here and getting shit on.

What I love is that the underlying conceit in the majority of the replies here is that gaming on twitch is a toxic and clearly misogynistic culture but rather than conclude that we should work to make it a better place for women instead the conclusion is: "And that's why it just makes total sense to exclude women all together"

And thus misogynistic gaming culture is just amplified rather than combated.

Yep. I watch these daily vloggers, they started off small and would show details about their life like friends and family. Slowly they got more popular and had people harassing their friends and family and showing up to their houses.

Because of it they had to limit what they shared as they never expected them to get popular and wasn't okay with the crazy people that went along with it.

Once their dog died and they had people message them pretending to be their dead dog and saying shit. Never underestimate the shittiness of people.

It's not odd to think that a popular male streamer suddenly regularly playing with another female streamer means they're dating.

Summit1g started playing with lilchipmunk, now they are dating. Asmongold started playing with Pinksparkles, now they are dating.

I dunno man if the dude said he doesn't game with black people because people say racist shit when you do and then it turns out he says racist shit when other people game with black people... maybe that'd make him suspect.

That seems disingenuous. The difference is how these kinda things could make his spouse feel and the potentially real effect it could have on his relationship. Even strong relationships don't necessarily need shit testing their strength.

In your scenario he's only looking out for himself. In the real scenario, he's considering the feelings of another person whose life is tied to his in a very important way and doesn't necessarily have a platform to defend themselves. There's value in that and it doesn't necessarily deserve the hatred and complaints it's gotten in this thread. It's sort of a lesser of two evils kinda thing. It could be good for the community to work with and promote women that stream. It could be good for his relationship to avoid that. From all the info we have he's choosing his relationship over the community. I'd do the same thing, I think.

still not for you to decide,

now do you understand how pathetic your comment was? do you have a family to worry about, can you relate?
Hilariously misogynistic behavior gets called out. If you want to call me names and go against the board terms go for it. You've already been reported a few times.

He's basically admitting he's too immature to just talk to a woman normally like you would any one else? He's incapable of spending time with a woman without it ending in flirting? weird.

No, he's not worried about what he will do or say to them. He's concerned that the community of millions who follow him will start baseless rumors that may damage his marriage.

Eh. Can't be angry at this. People do hypocritical things all the time for the sake of a loved one.

What barren ass backwards world is this you speak of? Are there any grownups on that planet, or do the young eat them when they age out of being useful?

"Female gamers" what a way to word it, why not women or girls, after that thread in OT I can now see why the word "female" is so aggravating.

Shitty response truth be told, he could have not fed the fire and said 'it's nothing intentional, I just haven't really'. Not great but doesn't dig the hole deeper.

This just kind of perpetuates the problem, the biggest streamer in the world won't interact with women because his viewers might say they're dating.
