Yeah the controller demo was just bad playing almost like they were doing it on purpose to go "lol controller". I played doom on PS4 first and I played it a LOT closer to the m/kb footage than today's demo. For example they really cut down on movement on the first part, lots of stopping to kill or minimal strafing involved. That shit has nothing to do with a controller that's all on the player. There's nothing to stop you from running and moving at all times.
Now that DoomGuy canonically uses a sword maybe they can give him a better active in Quake Champions.
This is so gooooood! Gutted no release date yet but happy that there isn't very big changes in the game itself

My favorite aspect of the game is I've never felt so 'in control' of a PC in a FPS before, and after this game. It's hard to explain, but it's so fluid and responsive it feels like you're in total control of your actions. The freedom of movement and the combat is incredible.

Don't forget devs HEAVILY tweak and polish these reveal showings. They have probably had guys working on this showing for weeks, fixing bugs and stuff. It might not even be from the current main build - they could have just got this stuff working in a vacuum. Not saying they did, but it's a common practice. Read Jason Schrier's book!
As a mostly PC player, I gotta say if you don't have to use kb+mouse then a controller is always the more pleasant experience.

To be fair, he didn't have the sword at the end of Doom2016.

What I love about it is it wears it's VIDEO GAMENESS on it's sleeve. It's beautiful. Fuck realism. Just fun. This is just as charming as Mario Odyssey. No sarcasm.
