What in the absolute fuck? How could you betray someone that damn loyal to you just like that?

Papa Haitch was the good guy all along, what a swerve.

Nah.

Just because Punk is acting like a dick here doesn't mean WWE was in the right back then either. Not everything is good guy vs bad guy. It can just be asshole vs asshole.

With that said Punk has been vilified to hell and back by wrestling fans purely because he decided he no longer wanted to work for a particular company anymore. Something that thousands of people do all across the world every day.

Punk agrees to pay bill.

Punk and Colt fall out and aren't friends any more.

Punk refuses to honour the agreement to pay the bills.

Colt sues Punk.

Sad situation for everyone involved.

I mean there's probably more to this story. It's been well documented how loyal Punk is to his friends and the lengths he's gone in helping them out, including buying a house for Joey Mercury.

I would actually love to know how April Mendez is doing right now. I am actually very interested in that.
Well that wouldn't be that hard to find out. It's not like she dropped off of the face of the Earth. She wrote a New York Best Selling novel, and is writing a second book while being active as a public speaker on mental health.

Crazy is My Superpower. Yeah, I thought that was really cool of her. But yeah, initially I thought she quit the company because people wouldn't stop being fucking assholes and chanting "CM Punk" during her matches and maybe the company wasn't respecting her, but now I'm beginning to wonder if she didn't do it 'cause this paranoid fuck was being a weird asshole about it. AJ literally carried the women's division on her fucking back for years and it'd be incredibly sad if she couldn't join in stuff like the first ever Women's Rumble or Evolution because of her husband being a dick. :/

Because WWE is known for its healthy work environment that fosters long term commitments by it's employees.

Oh he surely must be a factor. I don't think it's the only factor, but he must be one. He's holding a grudge too big.

Punk was always a self-entitled asshole, turns out he's an asshole to his friends too.

She had a neck injury. https://www.sportskeeda.com/wwe/why-did-aj-lee-retire-from-wwe

Why do you want to know how she is doing?

We always say that, but top stars always seem to find a way to come back no matter what happens.
Where else are they gonna get paid? Impact Wrestling? Ring of Honor?

There's only one place in America they'll get paid, and most of them need the money. The ones that don't you barely or never see back in WWE.

yeah but why tho. what caused it.

I dunno man, I'm tired of making excuses. I wanted nothing but the best for him when he quit WWE, 'cause fuck that place. But his behavior since then has just been so shitty. Now he's turning his back on Colt 'cause Colt might have spoken to people who work for WWE? Half the people in wrestling do--you can be indie today and working at NXT tomorrow.

Does this mean I can laugh even more at how shit he is at MMA?
I guess the real question is...why did you ever stop?

I'll never understand the "give him credit, he set foot in the octagon and had the fights, can't say the same for most others"

motherfucker for a million bucks I'll go into the octagon and let me body be savaged, money heals all wounds

Wait. Didn't Punk and Cabana win the defamation lawsuit? Shouldn't their legal fees be covered by the losing side?

Or does this not happen in Amerixa?

Hi Colt Cabana how ya doing?

This is really shitty, Punk has become(definitely always was) such a bitch. People clamoring for him to come back to WWE need a wake up call

First I want to say that Colt seems like a nice guy but also seems like he should have been able to clear up any misunderstanding, even with Short Phuse Phil. I dunno.

Punk seems like he knows he will lose this suit and is forcing it so everyone will know what Colt did to him. A half a mil is nothing to Punk. Colt pissed him off somehow and justified or not, Punk has this weapon available to him so he is going to use it for payback.

Whether Punk is a major league ass or not depends on the facts. Undoubtedly there are things that Colt could have done to merit this (this, again, being 'forced into an airtight lawsuit that is guaranteed to cost Punk more than settling'), however unlikely it seems given his rep. I can't even imagine what, that's how good his rep is. But at the end of the day, Colt is a carny too, and really good at it. He got himself booked to go over Yano, that's not easy.

Lol booking yourself going over Yano is not comparable to demanding your best friend pay $256,000 of a bill you said you'll take care of.

I severely doubt Colt has done anything to deserve this out of the blue.

Didn't a network approached her about making her book into a TV series and she was involved in that too?

She's been extremely successful since leaving the WWE and wrestling.

On topic

I'm going to wait until more details surface before coming to my conclusion.

Now CM Punk will come back and drop a "pipe bomb" about how he has to return to pay his legal bills and sweaty marks will scream "best in the world!" Even though he is objectively one of the worst workers and physical talents to have ever held the strap.

Shouldn't this be an open and shut case in favor of Cabana? You have it in writing via text and a signed contract that Punk said he'll cover it 100%

At this point, CM Punk's most significant contribution to professional wrestling was dummies taking "make Roman look strong" out of context.

Which he said on a Colt Cobana podcast.

Fucking lol. I don't look forward to his inevitable return.

The normal rule in America is each side pays for its own legal fees, unless there is some contractual or statutory reason to shift the attorney's fees to the losing side. Honestly, this is for the best. Imagine if anyone injured by a corporation had to risk losing hundreds of thousands of dollars (or more) if they were not successful. Allowing the shifting of attorney's fees in all cases, would greatly reduce legitimate litigation.

Me too, but even if it's not shitty enough to merit hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenge, it still could be relatively shitty. Colt is a person, not an angel. I mean, whatever it is, if anyone could smooth it over without all this it should have been Colt Cabana, noted nice guy and friend of the friendless.

(The Yano thing was a Yano joke. Not a Colt joke.)

They had a falling out after Colt went to WWE to visit friends at SD taping a few years back. Punk still agreed to pay for the fees though so he's being really shitty especially if Colt has any proof that he said he would
