May be a hot take but I feel like I've seen them play enough Castlevania to last a lifetime (and it's never all that exciting to watch), and there's a four hour block of it? Woof.

On a more positive note, I finished MGS4 and loved it to death. It was able to connect and wrap everything up in satisfying ways (it's the best "culmination" of anything I've ever seen or played), and had my kind of fan service and nostalgia plays that really made me wish I had played the games growing up. I can't imagine what act 4 would have been like as it still gave me feels even though I only played 1 a month ago. Only major gripe was the awful fps, which thankfully got more tolerable after act 2. The last couple hours
from the split screen crawl, to the showdown with Liquid, to the jaw dropping after credits scene (wait why is there a voice actor credited for Big Boss?... !!!),
were perfect. It's right behind Snake Eater as my favourite.

I started Peace Walker and at first I was turned off by it, but after a few hours breezed by I realized I was enjoying the relatively low stakes feel of the missions and mother base after 4 games of non stop story and action. Should be a quick playthrough comparatively, then finally onto GZ and MGSV on PC which will be a lot easier to sink hours into. Even so, I've got a week to finish PW, GZ and V before Easy Livin', which doesn't seem likely. Hopefully I can get a good amount into V at least.

Super glad I decided to jump into the series and can't wait for their 1 playthrough now :)

I would love to see them work through Rondo of Blood and do a Richter run in SotN. Better yet, if they could play HoD together that would be amazing. I know fans love to hate that game, but is actually a pretty good time and I think it would make for an excellent stream (though they would need multiple setups, so it would take some doing).

Glad you enjoyed it. Game is definitely flawed but gets way too much hate, it's still 2008 GOTY.

As far as rushing through Peace Walker, I'm pretty sure it's actually longer than the rest of the series other than 5. Maybe the same length-ish as 4, but more gameplay and less cutscenes. Make sure you get the true ending too, or else you'll be confused by the start of Ground Zeroes.

I'd switch MGS for Twin Snakes. We've seen MGS a 1000 times already. Won't break the internet to try something new and laugh at it.

Swap Bloodborne for Demon Souls.

GTA Online for Red Dead online.

4 hours of Castlevania? Cut that up, and play more a way out.

I prefer to watch stuff we haven't seen or played for a while.

GT or EZA has never ever done a full playthrough. Any notion to do twin snakes is absurd to me

I'm happy they will as a group to play through one of the greatest games of all time. I am sad it doesn't look like we'll have a SNK block with don this year :( But don got the pinball game and we get to revisit more Jurassic Park

There's some games that I would swap out for others but nothing major. Love RE3 is coming back for a stream.

But they also allocated a ton of time for MGS1. They'll should be able to finish it earlier than they planned so I'll be interested to see what bonus games show up

Damn we got Castlevania hate up in here? I will be SO DOWN for 4 hours of Castlevania. Especially if they treat us to the wonderfully janky N64 versions.

Oh look a Castlevania block that will absolutely ignore the GBA and DS games probably.
Handhelds are usually not easily captured/put on a TV screen (for the other Allies to watch) compared to consoles. I guess the GBA one can be played on Blood's Gamecube, but still.

I am sure they are going to have to juggle with cables/consoles without having to try and get the DS on there. I know it's possible and I am not saying those games aren't worth it (I haven't played them and I actually haven't played a lot of Castlevania), but it's probably easier to not use the handheld ones (but who knows).

Imo, if they don't play the handheld ones, it's probably more because it's not as easy to set those up to being recorded and not because they think they are not worth it.

Not a single game I'm interested in watching there. Makes me feel better about working all three days. I'll still watch for the jolly vibes a couple hours a day, though

I think you can play a lot of the portable castlevanias on the wiiU virtual console. I'm very unfamiliar with castlevania so somebody else would have to confirm.

I'm not really that sold on the schedule compared to last year. Mario Party aside. Long live Mario Party!

Interesting list of games. Could do with a full playthrough of a platformer imo, as Sunshine was the perfect pass-the-controller game. I dunno how they will do that with MGS.

Really hoping for Castlevania 64, if even for an hour or two. Give Kyle that controller and just let him sink in.

They've been talking about doing a full playthrough of the original MGS for so long that anything else would be madness at this point. Also helps that Twin Snakes is a travesty.

Can't really imagine MGS would last more than 10 hours. They could probably slot in another game after that playthrough ends before the Animal Crossing block begins.

Excited for Kiwami 2, mainly because I know most of the Allies probably won't ever get into the series (and to be fair, even as someone who loves it I understand why) so it's nice whenever they feature it in something like this.

Also really looking forward to that Damiani RE3 prime time slot (assuming the plan is still for him to play it). The old play-through with Ben at GT was one of my favorites. Plus Huber always makes RE so jolly.

Sure, I didn't think about that at all, that's a good idea. If they own those and have downloaded them it should be fine.
They also have

Edit:
I did quickly check wikipedia for a list of Wii and Wii U Virtual Console games and it looks to me only Castevania I -> III are on there for some strange reason (Nintendo is crazy that they are not offering more of those classics on there and that they are shutting the Virtual Console down in 2019). But maybe I am missing something (I am not super familiar with the series except for the name and legacy).

Edit 2:
I am an idiot, I only checked the first table (which were NES games). The GBA ones are on there as well (at least on the Wii U).

Playing Animal Crossing in the middle of the night won't give them much to do, but it'll still be the chillest, jolliest thing they'll play.

Yeah, my sister is a big Animal Crossing fan and I have seen her play the first one on Gamecube a lot. It is probably not the best time of the day to play that game, but with a couple of Allies playing it (or even one) and some commentary, this should be great. Those are fun/relaxing games. I just hope that playing it at 2 AM doesn't remove too much stuff that they can do (I don't remember exactly how they work with real time and I haven't really seen any of the newer ones).

They could always change the system clock, but why? Just schedule it during the day. I hope it's an old save and the town is covered in weeds, and the mailbox is full of letters from the townsfolk moving. And a Mother's Christmas Present.

I just wanted to say that the current banner on their YouTube page right now is Grave of the Fireflies and I am traumatized. I've never recovered from watching it the first time o_o

They will have their hands full in those 2 hours for sure if that's the case.

I feel like there was a stream, maybe the charity one, where he mentioned to Ben that was going home and will start watching MHA.
Pretty sure it was Evo he finally said he was going to watch it.

He said he watched the first episode on the latest Huber Syndrome (I think near the beginning).
Thanks, I hadn't gotten to that yet. Maybe if he catches up around when Season 3 ends we can get a MHA Spoiler Mode with Ben, Brad, Huber, and Kyle.

The melee question was interesting, but off in several ways imo.

Does Nintendo ever release HD remakes for multiplayer centric games that still get iterative sequels?
Zelda, DK, OoT, Star Fox, etc aren't great examples because they're self contained single player experiences.

Saying "here's a TPHD while BOTW is in development" works.
Doing a "Here's a Mario Party 3 HD while Super Mario Party is in development", or "Here's a Mario Kart 64 while MK9 is in development" doesn't work

I'm struggling to think of a multiplayer game that fits that scenario.

Plus if they rereleased Melee, they'd have to add some kind of online, along with a few other features, or else people would complain. And that would just be unnecessary work. For not much profit

IMO the melee fans wouldn't move to a switch version anyways. They'd still want it with the CRTs and there's be some slight change to input lag or something that would keep them away from it because it wouldn't be 100% just like what they've been playing for a decade

As for an example of another case. See COD4 re-release.

I can't see Melee Hd getting that much excitement next to Ultimate anyway. Sure the Hard Core Melee fans would be excited but the general audience are going to want the game that has an additional 50 something playable characters.

Not a great example since CoD4 isn't a remaster, it's a full-blown remake, but I agree.

Activision doesn't seem to understand the difference between a remaster and a remake going by the CoD4, Crash and Spyro "remasters".
