It's 2018 and I still can't imagine any point in the near future where I would not want a laptop and/or desktop. Currently I enjoy and love both, and still use my smartphone a ton as well.

I have my PC hooked up to my TV as well as a small monitor, and it's essentially entirely how I consume media. I use it for everything, it's what I'm most comfortable using. Obviously if you're out, then a mobile device is what you'll be using, but at home it'd never be my first option.

I have a PC media server in my basement with a fat HDMI cable and a USB hub running up through the floor for video and wireless keyboard/mouse/controller dongles. I also use a Laptop for more production focused things (or games with smaller text)

I browse everything on my iPhone X now.

Before that I've been using my MacBook Pro for anything internet related since 2011.

I own a PC but I only use it for gaming.

Phones and tablets are consumption devices. PCs and laptops are production tools.

I do everything from video editing and effects work to Instagram posting from my desktop.

I can appreciate the leaps that smart devices have made, but the novelty of doing certain things on them is short lived for me. The experience of typing on phones and tablets is so so inferior - for experiences like forums, or any time I need to do serious posting anywhere, I turn to a computer.

I prefer media experiences like videos on high DPI, high resolution devices too. Web design, photoshopping, blender etc. - are all things I can't do (well) on my phone. My phone is basically a link to social media and messaging, games, banking, utilities etc. For anything more substantial I need a device more substantial.

I don't even have a normal cell phone with Wi-Fi . Too expensive for me right now. I have a Pc and a Kindle at home and a cheap phone for the gym that I use for music there.

Yes, I can't stand mobile. I use my phone when I'm not at home and my tablet when on bed
and toilet
but otherwise nope.

Use my desktop at work to browse because...well I'm at work lol.

At home I generally stick to iPad / Phone for general web browsing.

I work on a computer and use that for whatever internet during the day. After work is done, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've used a computer instead of a tablet/phone in the past 3 years.

I really don't care for touch typing so I always prefer using my laptop for web browsing and physical keys. I rarely use my phone outside of texting/calls or discord or if I happen to be out and and want to waste some time.

Typing (and more importantly, editing the text) is still slow and inaccurate on a touch screen.

For things I can't do with an aging iPad or phone, yes. Otherwise I use the aging iPad.

I use my laptop at work and cafes because I write a lot.
Ah, you're one of those types. Can't work on that academy award winning screenplay unless you're in public.

lol jk I'm totally talking about myself. I'm just thankful one of my long time friends works at this Starbucks, or else it'd be another Starbucks While Black situation.

ERA's performance on my OG Pixel has not been great, there tends to be a lot of lag loading bigger threads so I use a laptop if I have one around.

During work hours I do 100 percent of my web surfing and social media on a laptop/desktop, starting in the evening I switch over to an iPad. When I'm traveling I will check my phone sporadically.

when somebody will find a better way to type than a keyboard I will switch.

Usuallly I will have my MBP streaming media to my tv while I get comfy and use my phone to browse. I'm inevitably going to be picking It up for Instagram and things anyway and I chose a large screen phone for that reason.

I never use the internet or watch YouTube on my MacBook, I always do it on my phone. I only sit in front of a computer if I need to type something for an extended amount of time or if I'm fiddling around with some music programs.
Occasionally I'll play a game or watch a movie, but it'll be hooked up to my tv and I'll use a controller for games.

I honestly just don't like sitting in front of a computer for too long. I guess thanks to public school and college I equate it to work and studying. It's the same reason I don't like any version of Windows. The connection is too strong.

I use my phone for light browsing, which is what I'm usually doing. Anything that needs multiple tabs to switch through or watching something I'd rather just grab my macbook. So it's like 70/30 phone when I'm home.

Obviously at work I'm using my work computer.

Laptop downstairs in my main TV area to use while I'm playing games or watching TV... Desktop upstairs in my office room when I need to do real work or play PC games.

Tablet and smart phones just don't compare to a good laptop in my opinion. Laptop and desktop will always be my primary devices, I do have a decent smart phone which I will use for browsing on rare occasions but I find it inadequate and it does not compare to a good laptop.

Use my pc most of the time and I pretty much use my phone only for this site. Most sites on the internet are annoying to browse on mobile.

I'm fine with a phone or tablet for passive tasks and on the go browsing, but touch typing will always be a hassle compared to a physical keyboard and I want the real estate of a large monitor for multi-tab browsing and media when I'm at home.

100% PC if I'm at home. Phones are nice for convenience, but if you're using one for everything, you're eating with a pocket knife instead of silverware.

Use the right tool for the job.

If I'm at home, my PC is on. I don't use my phone for web browsing or consuming media at home unless I'm on the toilet or my PC's acting up. My laptop's basically a paperweight now, but that's mostly because of how old it is.

If my PC was in a less convenient place this would totally change.

I don't mind browsing on mobile but I definitely treat it as a read only experience. I find typing anything more than a text message so slow on mobile that I try to avoid it.

Yeah. Some websites just have better desktop versions. Plus my phone's battery isn't exactly infinite.
