I'm really shocked so many of you like how that Honda looks. Thing looks like a Plymouth Horizon but doesn't even have 4 doors. More like a Plymouth Colt I guess. That style of car, I didn't think that has been seen as cool since the early 90's, it's all boxy

I personally don't like curvy cars. For example: Late nineties BMW >>>>>>>> anything they've done since. I have always liked like the boxy look.

Ah, ok. So the normal looking Porsche design.

Where's that Tesla stan that said no way Porsche would have a better interior?

I like boxy cars. If Honda made a new car look exactly like a 1986 Honda Civic or something I would buy it so fast. Or, if they just kept making 80's cars with newer engines.

I own a Porsche Panamera, and I've been following this car for a while now because eventually I do want to make the switch to full electric. My only concern are the available charging stations or lack there off. For all the nice features that are available on the Tesla, their material build isn't there yet, and the interior feels cheap to me. Other than that, They are nice cars.

" Reimold reveals how the Porscheemployees conveyed a clear-cut message and commitment to begin the production of the all-electric Porsche Taycan on time, and as early as possible. They've even opted to keep their salaries flat until 2026, in order to help finance the factory. This means that no regular salary increases will be seen by Porsche workers over the next few years, but they will get to see a return of their investments later on."

Had to read that a few times, pretty crazy

I think if you live near some Tesla superchargers there should be charging options available for you between VW and Porsche's charging station ambitions (I expect rollout to mirror Tesla's)

Wait seriously? That's Model X territory... Porsche are really going for the jugular then. I mean who's gonna choose a Tesla over a Porsche?

They are planning on making 20k a year vs 50k a year Model X and 50k Model S... I think its kinda silly to think they both can't happily co-exist and one has to be going for the jugular.

It's more like who's going to choose a gas car with all these incredible electric options.

It's a shame they couldn't keep it closer to the concept. I really liked the look of it without a B-pillar. This looks more like a Panamera, which is still a beautiful car.

Stunning design. I hope this makes it into the actual production version. People will still complain about the lack of buttons and how they will have to look away from the road to use the touch screens...
they are hypocrits? :P

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I wonder if it's just because I lived through those cars being widely used and going out of style, maybe I have a hard time accepting it as something people would see positively

Good luck to those who will buy these out of warranty. Depreciation post warranty will be a massacre as it is for all these "super tech cars."

With the wave of electric cars hitting the market, the availability of charging stations is going to increase significantly. It won't take long to implement and will soon be a non-factor.

It reminds me of a Lancia Delta

Did this thread just get bumped with a splash page for a concept car from 2015? Porsche is one of the least ambitious automakers when it comes to designing their road cars, I don't have high hopes for the Taycan, as much a small I'd like it to derive heavily from the Mission E.

Because their design is timeless

32. And I know I'm in the very small minority on this one. I'm not saying that this is something that would sell well, I'm just saying I would buy one.

Confirmed specs:
The Porsche Taycan is expected to sell around 20,000 units per year. It is expected to take from the 919 Hybrid project, using two permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM) and a permanently magnetized rotor. Together, the two motors are expected to generate over 600 hp and are fed by batteries that give 500 km of range.

Performance will be electrifying. 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds with a 200 km/h sprint in under 12 seconds. The system is 800 volts, meaning that once the range is depleted, it will take just 15 minutes to charge another 400 km.

Also an image overview of the IONITY/Electrify recharge stations being built in Europe and America:

It's just a silhouette, but that was fucking sexy. Best looking electric vehicle for sure. If the rear light truly is a full line like that my Cyberpunk dreams are finally coming true.

Owning teslas out of warranty seems like a hassle. Only tesla approved shops can fix your cars and they keep a tight lid on parts availability

somewhat offtopic but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate what rich is doing. have been watching many of his videos and read through all kinds of flak he gets for calling out tesla on their apple-like bullshit.
He also exposes how incredible cynical the company is, selling cars on the premise of "saving the world" while at the same time being ok with wasting tons of resources by handicapping people who want to repair these cars to keep them running longer.
