Well it's real weird to post pics of it on social media but
Appears she was in a boating accident and didn't purposefully remove part of her finger.

This was so long ago, and such a brief moment in time, that I'd almost call it a collective misunderstanding on our part. She's been established as a pretty bad person for almost the entire time she's been responsable for herself, and now she's 32.
Reckless speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if she grew up in an extremely abusive household (and yes, these homes often have money and families that appear "perfect"). Acknowledging it would be a big step in her recovery.
