What definitely makes me happy in this trailer are the gun sounds. I loved how the guns sound in RDR and I really don't like them much in GTAV. They always sounded weak too me. That shotty blast in this trailer had some real nice oomph to it.

Downloaded the 4k footage from Gamersyde and looked at it on my 65" TV.
Image quality looks very good.
Apart from ground textures this almost looks too flawless for Ps4 Pro footage.

that's PS4 Pro?

Lord have mercy with my X and I

Rockstars attention to detail btw is absolutely stupid......its just outrageous how much detail goes into every little thing.

I was insanely impressed by the stuff in the local market when he walked in, the detail and variety on just the items on the shelf is just WTF

Watching this video had me like:

Though I do hope the missions are more open-ended than just "go from linear setpiece A to linear setpiece B."

Maybe I'm dead inside, but Rockstar games are the only ones I can get hyped for anymore. They make me feel like a kid again, dizzy with anticipation.

Can definitely appreciate the scope and detail in the world from what I saw but this game just isn't for me I guess.

I wasn't excited by what I saw in the slightest.

Same here. The trailer was pretty much "Look how beautiful this game is. We're also ambitious!" I want hoping it would touch more on the mission details and a hint of Online. I understand they have more videos on the way but I was hoping for a little more from this trailer.

Not very convinced by the graphics tbh. Not just the character models which don't look within the current standards (if not on par with last gen characters) but also the overall settings, textures, animations and physics. It is not higher settings or resolution on PS4 pro or XB 1 X or PC (if it happens) that will change this but you can see that the game is has low basis. It is still the last-gen GTA engine (which already didn't look that outstanding) which got improved for the end of this gen. It still doesn't hold a candle compared to the last Sony exclusive games to be released or even some released ones and even to Multiplatform open world games games. I wonder how the game looks on base consoles.

Anyway, R* games were never benchmark games for graphics to start with and they were always about the fun and deep gameplay which seems to not be lacking in this game.

Which open world games look better than this on consoles? I can't think of any TBH. This is even more impressive than Horizon considering the wider FoV, foliage interactivity and the complexity of the NPC's in view.

Animations don't look within current gen standards? Show me better animated horses.

I was wondering why Arthur would be polishing a gun

I hope that there are legendary/named unique weapons we can find via treasure hunts and that's not just from a cutscene or story mission.

I'd imagine 1400p on Pro and 1600p, maybe even 1800p on Xbox One X for an as visually demanding open world game like this.

I would really expect higher graphical settings on new consoles besides higher resolution( maybe 2 modes) because GTA5 really needed a patch on both consoels to improve the graphics not just the resolution.

Just watched on Rockstar's YouTube channel and right next to the new trailer I see the gameplay trailer of GTA V and it says 5 years ago, lordy lord.

Wonder if we're actually going to be waiting five years now for GTA VI or Bully 2. Maybe Bully 2 before GTA.

That looked really good!

Any word on when the second video will come out? They mentioned it in passing in this one but there wasn't anything said about when.

Looks good that, looks a much more immersive, living/breathing world than the first RDR.

Seen someone say it's the best looking open world game they've seen, not sure if that was a joke post or they haven't played the witcher 3 on max settings but eh

The environments look pretty but the gameplay looks very iterative to me. Feels like it actually regressed a step back from the character swapping of GTAV, this honestly looks like an open world game like dozens of others.

I'll still get it sure but I'm not feeling it.
Dozens of others?

Name me one dozen other open world games that come even close.

Also, how has "iterative" become such a negative word? What the hell did you expect, for them to throw everything out the window and start from scratch or something? Or are you thinking of the word "incremental"? In which case I'd posit that you clearly haven't played the last RDR, nor GTAV. What's on display here is a clear generational leap in terms of interactivity alone.

The game is obviously gorgeous and R* has an amazing eye for detail, but I've seen nothing about the gameplay and open-world that seemed fresh in the slightest. The voice over didn't help, made it seem like a B-list trailer, filled with catchphrases and empty promises. But it does look amazing!

Looks very good from what I have seen. Rendering wise, it looks more similar to the newer AC games to me, compared to say Spiderman, which has a more CG look. Anyway, excited for this.

Apologies for the poor quality but I think this may be Abigail and Jack:

They're sat next to Jack and the woman has dark hair, with a young boy sat on her lap. I'm not sure how this would work in terms of time but I'm fairly certain it's them.

Edit: Image didn't work so linked to imgur.

Nothing fresh in the slighest? What other games have, for example, the amount of interactivity with random NPC that they're showing here?

The game looks incredible for an open world game. It is easily the best looking open world game. The voice acting seemed too forced. From a game play standpoint, they didn't show much. The hunting and NPCs looked interesting, but we've seen it in other games. The combat doesn't look as interesting as Horizon Zero Dawn. Right now it looks like Red Dead Redemption meets Max Payne. That's both a good and bad thing, because I want the game to surprise me when it comes out.

I am looking forward to this game.

Part of the enjoyment for me, is riding in solitude watching the sunset.

This will look amazing on the X1X.

Not release the game? It's understandable for the first one it was hard to port so they said.

I never heard this part. To me it always felt like they were giving the PC version of the first game the silent treatment, aka the Agent treatment or they would make some comment about "it sure would be interesting if the PC version happened." It's been ages though so I could be wrong.

If I am not mistaken, this is a prequel right? It happens before the first game? And when does Red Dead Revolver take place then?

It is so fascinating how this game shifted from being another Capcom game to one of R*'s biggest IPs.

Getting some Zelda Breath of The Wild vibes. But I'm also getting some GTA 4 vibes(bowling/cousins) in terms of the gangs.

Hopefully the latter doesn't end up being too stale. Everything else looks great though.

*sigh* Here I go again.

This happens to me every Rockstar game with the exception of the first topdown then-DMA GTA game which I legit enjoyed a ton. The game is off my radar until a few months before release, I see a trailer where I think it looks really good and then I buy it, play it and am left with the whole "yeah this game isn't for me" vibe. But then I do it again with the next one thinking "okay, well this one looks really good and might actually do it for me..."

GTA 3, Vice City and SA, 4, Bully, LA Noire, RDR... and now it's gonna be RDR 2.
