Not to be critical of the person you quoted... but this game is NOTHING like Diablo. There's no top down camera, no randomized dungeons, no random gear drops with random stats, no exp system, no skill unlocks... I just can't see where he got this comparison from.
He did say that while the gameplay is very different the loop is similar, as in I assume farm current level enemy to be able to fight next level enemy so you can farm gear for nextnext level enemy.
Let me get this straight. People won't be able to co-op without being in a group, right?
It's not like that, a set of equipment can last you quite a long while.
The last MH I played before MHW was Portable 3rd on PSP and I went through the entire story mode with about two sets of armor, that I didn't put much effort into getting.
At its core MH is a deep action game that is very much about skill, which is why you will often see players play 'naked' without armor (which they used to do well before Souls was a thing).

I think I can very much live with that as long as the actual fighting is fun. Which MH's seems to be, while I find Diablo incredibly boring.

I kinda miss this important note. Everyone should join one, I guess.
Really ? How so ? I want to play with a friend tonight, do we have to join the same Steam group ?Let me get this straight. People won't be able to co-op without being in a group, right?

I want to have at least 75fps possible at 1440p.I'll find out when I get home.
Well, you could unlock the FPS ingame and then lock them to 75 with RTS, for example.
This should work...
No, you just need to be in the same session, which is possible by sharing the session code.Really ? How so ? I want to play with a friend tonight, do we have to join the same Steam group ?
If its the same as ps4/xbox then multiplayer coop works like this :Really ? How so ? I want to play with a friend tonight, do we have to join the same Steam group ?
Yeah, but that'll add a lot of hassle especially if you're planning to play with several friends. By being in the same group, everything is already setup for you and your friends. No, you just need to be in the same session, which is possible by sharing the session code.
On the console version you can also just join a friend's session directly from the system menu if they're in a public session, you don't need to share a code or go to a private session. No word on whether the PC version will work the same way, but Steam does have the ability to let you join a friend's game from the friend list if the game supports it.If its the same as ps4/xbox then multiplayer coop works like this :
When you enter the hub a new session id is created. If you want to invite a friend to your session you have to give him your session id.
Now in the gathering hall you can create a clan. Being in a clan means all members have the same session id when you enter the clans session, its a lesser hassle.
30+fps/1080p max settings with a 970 sounds fine imo,i expected worse tbh.
So you basically need a GTX 1080 for constant 60fps on Max Settings in Full HD...
oof
Bummed videos seem to show that anything more than 20 feet away still has those awful low framerate animations *shudder*
Is there some kind of thing in World that is advisable to start doing from the very beginning? Like collecting honey in the older games, so you always had enough for mega pots (until you got your farm going anyway).
Can you just go online and look for a random group to join mid session or in the lobby(if there is one) or can you only do co-op by grouping up via Steam groups?
but they're not telling us definitively so we cannot make an informed decision...they keep stating that they 'might' release one:

Right, so why wait for a possible texture update that may never arrive? You can enjoy the game right now. I put a decent amount of time into the PS4 version and never thought it was a bad looking game, in fact, some parts look pretty damn nice.
You'd rather choose the possibility of better textures over a more active multiplayer scene and engaging the content as it is added rather than later when the community is far ahead?it may never arrive but it also may arrive and will be the best way to play the game- improved graphics + MH gameplay...if given the choice you would want to play with both if possible...if I put in 200+ hours into the game now then I most likely will not want to go through the entire game again if the graphics patch is released...
I see. But as I understand it, you can't actually search people by name, right? So if you want to play with your friend, you need to be in the same clan, right? Or the alternative is by inviting them manually to your session by sharing codes. The steam group thing is more or less clans. You can still play with randoms or invite specific people to your instance etc.

Ah I see. okay, sry misunderstood.
May I ask what hardware you are using?
Engaging the content when it is fresh usually makes it less likely you'll get carried by people who have long since mastered said content or have sets from later content releases that have too-powerful bonuses (power creep, I'm looking at you Behemoth).the MP scene will still be active 3-6 months from now...how does the community being far ahead matter when there's not any level based matchmaking?

Max everything are generally really bad real word performance benchmarks anyway. Just turn 3 taxing effects down from Ultra to High, you don't see much difference and suddenly you have double the FPS (exaggerated and generalized obviously, but you get the idea). Some effects really can be extremely taxing and it doesn't automatically mean they are badly optimized.
Cool, that should be easy then. Thanks. You can invite friends directly on PS4 with psn, no need to share the id room. MH PC supports steamworks so I'm 99% sure you'll be able to simply invite your friend via the steam friend list into your instance.
It adds important effects and you wouldn't want to turn it off. You may want to turn it down to high or medium and see how the game runs.wtf does volumetric rendering do? and how will it look if I have it off?
I have a 1080ti and a i7 7700k and 32gb ram, I hope with 1440p I can run it well.Cool, that should be easy then. Thanks.
