Havnt played this game since December last year I have both Warmind and Osiris dlc but havnt played it yet came with my white pro bundle, if I want to start playing again to get ready for dlc were should I start? Would be a lot easier if all my friends hadn't quit playing the game

You would still be able to find people playing old content and some of the weekly stuff (which will be shortened to 4 day miles stones) drive people to old planets. It would probably be a bit harder to find raid groups once the new raid becomes the hot end game thing but people will still run them. Also Crucible stuff is free to everyone so you won't be left behind on that, even if you don't buy Forsaken.

Thanks for the info. I've got it all updated and was thinking about jumping in!

Has it been announced if the Raid is being released a bit after the DLC? It's usually how they do it but I'm curious how delayed the raid will be.
I don't think it's been announced, but I would assume at least a 1 week delay. I don't think there's any way the light level requirement will be low enough for players to be able to clear it in the first week.

Or, it may be accessible but impossible to really progress through.

The only things worth doing are:
  • Finishing the DLC stories for both expansion campaigns
  • The Polaris Lance weapon quest line (which is pretty cool quest line and a good weapon)
  • The Whisper of the Worm weapon quest line (which is some of the coolest shit they've done in 2018)
  • Maybe play some Iron Banner when it comes around (probably next week) and get a couple of those weapons.
  • Try to get any of the following: Nameless Midnight, Main Ingredient, Nightshade, Spoiler Alert, and Origin Story from Zevala, Mannanan SR4, Imset HC4 , Proelium FR3, Hawthorne's Field-Forged Shotgun, Galliard-42, Valakadyn, Tone Patrol, Last Hope, Phosphorus MG4, Uriel's Gift, The Quickstep, Swift Ride, and Antiope-D from Gunsmith, Play of The Game and Retrofuturist from Shaxx, and Steady Hand, Time-Worn Spire, The Hero's Burden, and The Forward Path from Iron Banner. These weapons will likely be gone forever and because you haven't played since Warmind came out, they will not be added to your collection unless you already have them in your vault currently. None of them are especially difficult to get, but will require you to put in some playtime. Totally optional but they're good guns worth having a copy of, random rolls in Forsaken be damned.

If none of those interest you, just finish the story and chill out until Forsaken drops.

Bungie definitely knows how the amp their artstyle but in sadly past the game due to early shenanigans and mishaps. I can't justify rewarding that kind of behaviour when yes they've changed but it's almost a "fool me once" scenario thanks to it being a repeat of Destiny 1. Good luck to those enjoying the content though when it comes out, looks grand.

I am pumped for this. The trailer looks ridiculous. And I haven't touched the game in well over a year now.

Bungie has always been very competent when it comes to trailer.

The problem has never been here.

Well....Warmind wasn't mediocre year 1 dlc, it's what brought people back to the game, it's what saved the Planet Destiny podcast, it got people talking and everything they did since has been positive for the game. I stopped playing with Osirus as well. It sucked, I couldn't believe I would have to wait until September for fresh feel again. Apparently all I had to do was wait until March.

Two Good Raid layers, some fun quest lines for new a pair of exotic weapons, a fun pve mode, a fun raid. I'm sorry that you live in Canada. I have no control over that but....it's been a good time for awhile now. The Whisper of the Worm quest is just the tip of the iceberg.

Really?

I did not know there was an annual pass. Is that just more future DLC?

Yeah...Curse of Osiris....almost killed the game completely, dead in the water. People just stopped playing. People went to like....Monster Hunter, fuck even I went to Monster Hunter and that game was painful to play compared to Dwstiny character movement wise. People wanted grind.

The Planet Destiny Podcast got shut down because there no revenue being generated because there was nothing to stream, there was nothing to do in game.

Then Warmind came along.

- Enjoyable Campaign with a character that didn't fuck off and peace out on you at the end

-Stuff to do...there was stuff to do again. Simple things like the Sleeper Stimulanf quest line, having you search for hidden music boxes in hard to find places (this gave content creator things to make videos for). The Polaris Lance quest line, and

Escalation Protocol......though botched in execution (should have been one dedicated area to phase into, something I believe Dreaming City is fixing) led to the community finding work arounds. (keyword the community sticking together and finding solutions) reminded me of finding work arounds for Pre Expansion patch for House of Wolves when we grinding keys in D1

New Raid Layer and then there was free stuff too, like re-worked exotics, re-worked exotic armor, masterworks for exotics and of course the from out of no where Whisper of the Worm Discovery and weapon (it's not black spindle it's black hammer)

All these things revived the game. Solstice of Heroes, also free, got people talking all over again and bringing people up in light level. I know the majority here hate that there is no LFG in game, but that's because the majority here play on PS4 and they don't have a LFG system built directly into their OS like Xbox does.

So this renewed interest in the game, the big community feed back event hosted by Bungie which directly effected what we are getting with Forsaken....plus one of the podcasters presenting this to the owners of Planet Destiny, saved that network.

So is Warmind worth playing? I had a "fuck this" moment after the first mission, where I just got pissed off at how low-budget and cheap the entire thing felt. I basically never touched the game again after this, but Forsaken actually looks and feels like a AAA experience so I'm interested in getting up to speed before that hits.

Agreed on all points regarding Warmind. Heck, I'm on course to obtain the sleeper for all three characters.

But I never thought CoO was soo bad that it would kill the game. And as someone who only recently started listening to Pdp, that's crazy it nearly put them under.

Oh BTW, I think PDP is better that DCP. Like listening to both.

I enjoy both, Black Link's voice makes it sound professional as all hell lol.

But I love DCP, but they have Datto on a lot and he is a huge fucking asshole so there is that.

User Warned: Thread derailing.
Since the very beginning of Destiny, Bungie has always charged players too much, for too little content. And with the time, you can now add more lies from them, anti consumer practices and more seasons pass to pay.

As long as some people (see here for example) are ready to defend them no matter what, they should not be worried about pricing. Look at how many people lowered their standards so much that they litteraly thank Bungie for not aiming higher than a 2015 expansion and charging more for that. It's like they don't even try the competition seriously to see how far behind Destiny is.

We are talking about the only game in the industry with at the same time a premium price, forced expansions (or removal of game modes) and lootboxes (worst form of microtransactions). Not even COD or FIFA does that.

I would say start doing the solstace armor quest. That will get you to max light level faster than anything else, which will then make doing things like Escalation Protocol, any raids or raid lairs, and anything like that, much much easier.

Nah, sorry, when you post the same inane stuff in every Destiny thread there's no point. I've responded to you numerous times with standard replies combatting your fixation on the game, and you barely muster an intelligent response each turn. It's beyond apparent to everyone here you're not looking for a discussion, just jumping at another chance to shit on the game, the company and the fans wherever you can.

Miss me with that "be better than that" nonsense when you exhibit a bizarre compulsion to derail every single thread to do with the game.

You derailing every Destiny thread into a discussion about pricing is fucking annoying.

This thread is about the new trailer for forsaken.

Anything to add to the actual subject?
