People say Goku is impossible, but that said argument was used against Ridley in For Smash, Villager in Brawl, and Sonic in Melee, but look at the current roster and they're all playable. Anything is possible, if Sakurai will it so.

I find it a bit ungrateful to react to SO MANY characters being confirmed for Smash by asking/speculating about even more characters, but it is kind of exciting.

There is no way they are pulling 36 tracks (remixes and originals) from only one game.
The problem is that if you stoop to putting Goku in Smash, where do you stop?
Spider-Man is one of the most popular characters in the world, sure he didn't originate from videogames but he's been in loads of games so he's fine too right?

If you think roster discussion are bad when you're only talking about videogame characters (I could think of like 40 unique Nintendo characters to add still), just try opening it up to almost every form of medium as long as it's had a gamee and see how bad it gets.
His taste is already questionable when he put the wrong Sonic in the game. Classic Sonic is best Sonic.

Dixie will come eventually I reckon. I'd be happy with her being an echo of Diddy. Would prefer a unique character, but echo is possible. I guess it depends on exactly how far the alterations can go with echoes.
I think it's a boring choice, so many fighting games of Dragon, Jump and would rather have other characters instead that are underappreciated. Today's choice with Simon, K rool are great choices in that regard. At the very least if they're going to choose someone in Dragonball, at least go with something unexpected like Videl or Satan. So damn tired of hearing Goku all the time. It's not even kid Goku which would at least be a change.

Competitive schmetitive :P. Casually Roy kicks ass and I love using him. He's like a beefed-up version of the Marth I've been missing since Melee.
You know out of all thes newcomers, Inklings still look like the coolest and most fun to play.

So, they can add a Dragon Ball character and they would not choose the most famous one (who is also famous in popular culture) but less known ones. Ok.
We discussed this in the Discord, but we came to the realisation that Square Enix has the rights to one of the most iconic characters in gaming history, the would be cherry on this Ultimate cake.

That's what YOU think it Smash Bros is supposed to be about. It never says that anywhere there are no "rules" or restrictions and frankly Sakurai can put whatever he wants in the game as long as people will enjoy it. I think people are viewing this as "shovelware the game".
I think the more appeal the game has the better. If they want to put Sailor Moon in the game, all the better.

I don't see Sakurai diverting too much from the idea (whether implicit or explicit) that Smash Bros. is about the celebration of video games, not entertainment media in general. And thank god.
