We Happy Few: Uncle Jack Live VR is your chance to meet and work with Wellington Wells' most prominent celebrity figure. Help Uncle Jack produce an exceptional show by delivering only the happiest of news and ensuring Wellies everywhere remember to take their Joy.

You'll not only deal with a very opinionated Uncle Jack, but also contend with a Downer Outbreak that has made its way into the broadcast studio. Using the tools at your disposal, you can not only survive the outbreak but hopefully quell the conflict itself.

When you're done playing producer, spend some downtime in the media archives where you can explore over 40 Uncle Jack episodes, listen to official We Happy Few soundtrack selections, and watch bonus materials like trailers and animation reels.

I feel thats a spot VR is atm alot. I mean devs are intrested in it and are trying it out. But its not ready for big releases etc. So they do this. Just a little experiment.
Why is that? When quality releases like Resident Evil 7, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Lone Echo, Rez Infinite, WipEout, Hellblade, The Persistance, Firewall Zero Hour, and Blood & Truth exist, and go far beyond the proof of concept phase, it's not that that VR is not ready for these games, but that you're not ready for VR.

This particular looks like a very brief promotional experiment to me, but how ready VR is for game releases has nothing to do with the reason why Compulsion Games created this little promotional app, and not a full on VR game. You're surely doing all the quality VR games released so far a disservice by holding this free tech demo app to similar standards.

The funny thing is, We Happy Few looks like it could actually translate over well to VR, and be a bit of a laugh from that perspective and there's already footage of someone at least rudimentarily hacking the game in VR.

I am not downplaying quality. But you bring up Hellblade also wich is also abit of a test and they give it away "free" with a copy. Offcourse there are some normal releases. But alot of them are experimental releases. Showing the industry is still trying to figure out VR,

At first I was wondered that you make a PSVR thread because I know you as Xbox fan but now I know why...

Maybe you should inform a bit better....

Huh.

Didn't even know this was coming to ps4 at launch.

Thought it was a xbox timed exclusive that became full after the buyout.

That's neat.

That's neat.

It was a console launch exclusive before and the early access was PC/Xbox only. But since they've partnered with Gearbox it became a full priced retail release for PS4/Xbox One/PC.
