Now, I know Konami are in a, uh, different place when it comes to making games these days but all thiis Castlevania stuff and they can't even be bothered to capitalise at all?

There was the pretty good Castlevania animated show on Netflix not long back and... nothing.

Not there's the second season of that approaching and lots of Castlevania content announced for Smash surely they have to do something more than a mobile game?

Remaster the old games at least?

If you had the choice what would you like to see?

New 3D Castlevania? New 2d Castlevania? Remakes of old games? Old game collections? Remasters?

I mean, they're doing the super mega ultra exciting mobile game? What more do you want!?

WHY WOULDN'T A MULTIPLAYER FOCUSED MOBILE CASTLEVANIA BE ENOUGH !!!?

Lords of Shadow trilogy on Switch.
Or a complete reboot made by Mercury Steam.

I want a collection more than anything else at this point. High quality ports of all the major 2D games would be ideal even if it was split across a couple of collections like Cpacom loves to do. Get people reacquainted with the brand and make new fans by exposing folks to classics like the NES trilogy (yes all 3 are great) and Rondo. Get Symphony and Ecclesia into as many hands as possible. Include the rewind feature for everyone's sake!

After the reveal today I'd be totally okay with letting Sakurai make a game using these assets if Konami can't be bothered to do it. Not like they're bringing back Iga any time soon.

I know we're never getting a new real game, but I'd be all over Classicvania and Igavania collections for the Switch. None of the DS games have anything too important on the touch screen, just move the map to a minimap or the minus button.

konami would rather bank on the IP than spend resources on an actual game

is a game, even a compilation, completely out of the question? no, but it's not what they do now and there's really no point giving your hopes up

I think the most sensible way for Konami to revive the video games side of the series would be a Mega Man Legacy Collection kind of compilation to gauge interest... Then again they're confident enough to make pachinko stuff and a new mobile game so uh, I dunno.

Get M2 to remake another game Rebirth style.

I'd love this. I never really enjoyed a Castlevania game when I was a kid but would like to have a go again now

I could see a collection happening soon. Wait for the next Nintendo direct. Maybe.

I think/hope they are cooking something.

Konami has been surprisingly supportive of the Switch, they are in good relations with Nintendo.

I'm still baffled as to why the Symphony Of The Night port for Xbox 360 never made it to PC. Surely that would be on the lower end of the effort-scale, even now with Konami's decreased focus on gaming.

There were pretty strong rumours of both a castlevania collection and a new game, were there not?

Games just take time, it's clear they're building up the brand for something.

Oh I see yeah. I suppose that does count, good point?

I wonder if it sells like gang busters Konami would do something themselves?

I mean of course they won't but it seems weird for them to leave money on the table by not at leat releaseping collections of old games

I'd hope it would be the next game they made after bomberman since I don't think they would have to invest too much into. If anything it could be like the Mighty No. 9 situation where they wait for the supposed spiritual successor(bloodstained), then release a new game after.

Hey the erotic violence pachinko machines only came out a couple years ago, surely those are still in operation

Moar pachinko!!

But seriously; a SOTN/GBA/DS remaster collection would be amazing, if unlikely. Just give us more Castlevania; even something along the lines of Rebirth would be welcomed.

Just give me a collection of the 2D RPG Castlevanias from SotN and onward, and I'd be good. Though I would imagine that the DS ones would be pretty difficult to do in certain respects (specifically in regards to touch controls; I believe PoR's Sisters Mode and OoE's Albus Mode have touch-screen functionality built into the way they control, and DoS has the magic seals, though that one is easy to address).
