The custom balance setting is interesting. When I first saw it I thought it was just the Damage Handicap option re-branded, but that's a confirmed menu option, soo... *shrugs shoulders*
SPECULATION TIME
--Maybe it's just a way to quickly turn on/off all the Advanced Rules listed.
--Has there been any confirmation custom movesets returning? Maybe this toggles that option on/off.
--Saw some theories that it could be Sakurai's way to please competitive Melee players somehow, but would an option like that be titled "Custom Balance"? Seems like this would imply something else.
Guess we'll see.

I want to believe that we're being trolled and that all characters who aren't being used in a match will be available as assist trophies so characters like Waluigi, Shovel Knight, Alucard, etc. still have a chance of being playable.
So my last hope list.

Medusa as a Palutena echo.

Also almost no chance she's playable but I'd love something from Shantae in this game.

I expect at least 2-3 more Smash directs.
But I guess next time the newcomer might be Geno, with Dixie and Isabelle being revealed as echoes, or in Dixie's case a semi-clone.

Krystal is in the game and they gave Wolf an ahegao. Don't question it.
Gray Fox probably works better as an assist given his role and iconic appearance but pretty brief actual playable presence, a Raiden echo could actually work really well now that we've seen Chrom and DS.
Give him a cartwheel roll and zandatsu final smash and he'd be perfect.
Incineroar is very likely, and Geno has a shot. The rest of them may not happen, at least not till DLC for Rex/Pyra and probably the Octolings.

Does anyone have the high-res renders of the 5 newly revealed characters? I'm not very skilled with using inspect element or I'd get them myself.

Can I say how happy I am about Richter? I've never been a big fan of Simon especially the blonde look.
Richter is my second favorite after Julius.(third if I can count the Netflix version of Trevor.)

We're really scraping the bottom here, considering I haven't even played those last two games.

I think even a Snake echo could do if they go with MGS2 Raiden. Just have his side B be a move with the sword.
But obviously I'd prefer Revengeance Raiden.
I mocked King K. Rool fans a lot back in the Smash 4 days because they were, honestly, really obnoxious. But I have to admit that I got hyped during that trailer. I'm not necessarily a fan of the character, but I love the way Sakurai manages to bring every one of his fighters to life.
I always held out a sliver of hope for Richter, better known as Best Belmont, so you can imagine my reaction when he popped up on the screen.
Same, honestly. I never cared for K. Rool as a character (and I'm still pretty indifferent to him) but his Smash incarnation finally seems to do something good with the weird thing.
If you need video, consider looking up Kecha Wacha, since I think that's one of the monsters that's mainly found there.
