I'm hugely enjoying golden Whizbang. I went on a ranked streak already, and some of the new recipes are kind of hilarious silly fun. I'm playing the hunter deathrattle mech deck now.

*edit* I've mentioned it before, but at least before the new expansion came out, I couldn't fully make a single one of the 18 non-basic decks. Being able to fully play the recipes is nice.

This expansion sure makes up for the last one when I got like 3 legendary cards in 90 ish packs.

I think I opened 100 or so and got 15 of them. Did not get Whizbang or C'thun though

Also been having a lot of fun with goblin bomb token druid

Those are more than just fair pulls, they're all really strong. Those are all core cards for Druid/Shaman/Mech for the next nearly two years.

yeah, not really complaining. its a free Legendary.

i just dont play Druid. i wouldve been thrilled with a golden Zilliax personally.

Well I got fucked in Witchwood...or it might have been Kobolds and Catacombs, but either way, the hearthstone gods realized that they wronged me goddammit, lol.
I don't think I've ever got more than 5 legendaries within 100 packs, all the way back to TGT :(

That said I think I actually do very well on golden cards, I've been sitting on 15-20k dust for a year now and craft a decent amount each set, and I know it's not from dusting legendaries lol

I've been very lucky with packs since I'm playing. I think someone at blizzard has a crush on me. My worst IIRC is around 7 legendaries in 100 packs. Last 3 expansions has been around 8-10 legendaries in around 120-130 packs.

coming from someone who likes the warlock class, just like Cubelock, i fucking hate Heal Zoo. hate playing against it and hate playing as it.

both decks are so unfun to me. cube is pretty self explanatory, but i cant stand playing as heal zoo for some reason. i used to love old school zoo, but heal annoys the shit out of me.

i dont get it.

Yeah I'm a big aggro guy and even I hate Heal Zoo

I just wish Blizzard would stop giving classes like Warlock and Paladin better aggro tools than fucking Hunter which is the face class. Even the new bomb builds I feel like they're not as consistently fast as Lock or Pally.

Messed around with handmage and settled on this deck. A lot of good synergy here.

  1. Meteorologist is ridiculous. Especially since you are probably going to be around 7-10 cards after turn 3. Face damage or board clears.
  2. Pocket galaxy combined with luna gives you a crazy draw engine. Keep plopping down 1 mana minions and drawing new ones.
  3. Dynamo gives you the ability to find board clears.

I'm playing mech aggro pally. Latest version is 7-1 so far. Void ripper combine with the huge health magnetic minions is a good face deck.

This was definitely the most lucky i've been in any expansion, 232 packs with 18 legendaries = 1 in less than 13 packs across whole thing. Though not 1 golden legendary, which was also a first.

I got decent pulls with Golden Dr Boom from one of my packs being the best one.

Trying to get a good rogue deck up and running but there is a lot of aggro out there at the moment so I'm going to switch it up.

My (limited) first impression: mechs are irrelevant. Rush is such a weak keyword.

Mechs? More like Meh right?

But yeah they are a little under powered because the classes that have card draw have better options.
It is basically pick your combo time for the 4-5 hours left before the aggro decks are refined.

Not needing to run Dragon's Fury in BSM anymore is nice. Just straight up Control Mage now.

I like MT's list; It reminds me of Strifecro's list.

I can't decide what to play. There's so much to try and not enough dust! Whizbang has been scratching the itch but I need more, more, MOAR!

edit: I played a golden Cloning Labs and it was beautiful. Now I know how HS celebrities feel playing in all gold.

I don't think Mechs are 'bad', they're a solid package, but you've got to either be a super fast aggro or very strong control/combo and they aren't really doing either.

The meta will probably shake out to 2-3 aggro decks and 2-3 control/combo decks with nothing really in the midrange where Mechs would do well.

I assume Hunter will suck yet again, so I'll probably play whatever Mage deck is half decent and presumably a pretty strong Zoolock and Combo Druid. Also looking for an excuse to craft Dr. Boom...

Dragon's fury animation is way much better than luna's pocket galaxy.

Kinda disappointing when Legendary spell animation is so terrible.

just went 6-0 with Deathrattle Rogue to get to rank 5. it's definitely fun and feels pretty strong.

dunno thats its going to be tier 1, but an optimized list is going to be fun to play for sure.

Decided to play one arena, went 5 wins but my pack gifted me a golden Subject 9, so guess I did end up getting a golden leggo in my packs this time.

On an unrelated note, Togwaggle in Wild just got ramped up considerably. Now instead of trying to burn your deck all you have to do is ramp up, hit your juicy melon on the way, and just swap decks. Getting a lot of concedes so far. I wonder if making the deck worse would actually be better....

Can't seem to find any deck that I feel good about. Got an average amount of Legendaries this time around (9 in 170 packs) but a somewhat low amount of Epics (25ish?), with a ton of two of them, missing a bunch of Rares and Epics still (which seems weird).

Got:
Stargazer Luna (Free Class Legendary)
Gold Dr. Boom (Pre-order 1)
Gold The Soularium (Pre-order 2)
The Storm Bringer
Flobbidinous Floop
Luna's Pocket Galaxy
The Boomship
Subject 9
Myra Rotspring
Zerek's Cloning Gallery
Boommaster Flark
Zilliax

And then crafted Electra (the only legendary I have a deck for)
Not the worst. Still, was hoping for a Boom-zooka for some silly Hunter shenanigans.

Guess Soularium means I should make a Zoolock.
I don't really have any good Warrior cards, so Dr. Boom is hard to use. I really wanted to get him since the hero cards just seem good every time. But I'm going to have to craft a bunch of stuff to make him good I think.

Sitting with 5k dust on my button, not hitting it until I absolutely have to, waiting for those nerfs to come in...

Crafted whiz bang.

It's fucking awesome. What a great addition to this game. Not about being competitive just about having a nice variety, an excellent thing to queue up if you don't know what to play, excellent for budget players.

I probably won't play him that much but man it was such a smart addition.

Got Whizbang as my bundle golden legendary and Crystalsmith Kangor as my free legendary. I'll probably end up DE'ing Whizbang as most of the deck recipes just aren't that good. It's nice having every card golden though... I'll hold on to it as long as I can until I have to craft something essential.

130 pack haul:

The Boomship
Myra's Unstable Element
Kangor's Endless Army
Floop's Glorious Gloop
Golden Boommaster Flark
Electra Stormrage
Myra Rotspring

Having a lot of fun with the new Rogue cards. Didn't expect Deathrattle Rogue to be somewhat viable (right now anyway)!

I hate this brawl so much. Fortunately the second person I was matched with realized what we had to do, but the first was a complete idiot and kept using his cards that destroyed minions on my minions.

At least they made it so you can't damage your opponent in this brawl.

Phew, what a whirlwind today was!

I've played so many different decks--some stronger than others--and my initial impressions at rank 10 are--

1. Deathrattle Rogue is better than I thought it would be. I expect it to get leaner as the 2/2 Mech drake just feels way too expensive to be playing with.
2. Treant Druid is basically Token Druid, but Giggling Inventor in Token anything is hooo baby.
3. Test Subject is dumb. What a dumb card. I expect it to get nerfed.
4. I didn't see ONE Reckless Experimenter today.
5. Bomb Hunter is fun, but it's hard to pop your eggs. Mech / DR hunter has potential.
6. Mage feels bad, though I expect both aggro and control will be a thing. Aggro will probably die out again, but maybe the Spell Damage will give it the extra burst. Shooting Star and Arcane Explosion felt good with BM Thalnos and the +2 spell dmg for this turn minion. Nice to play Control without Dragon's Fury. Control may hang around .
7. Lots of people playing with Mecha'thun. Probably be limited to Priest, Druid, and Warlock.
8. Didn't see hardly any Warrior or Paladin. Mostly DR Rogue and Test Subject Priest.
9. Both Meteorologist and Astromancer felt pretty good. The rest of the deck...not so much.

Of the decks I played, Even Shaman felt the strongest. The new 2 drop elemental and the 2-cost card draw spell help refill your hand. Higher Elemental density means more stuff from your Earthen Mights. Token Druid (Treant), too, felt really strong.

The card that surprised me the most today was Giggling Inventor.

I heard it was going to be good. Like, the words, and their meaning, registered in my brain, but you have to play it to really *get* it. I stalled with Treant Druid using two Plagues and two Inventors, which gave me enough time to build a board, Soul of the Forest it, then use the Treants to discover Savage Roar. Then later, in Control Mage, I used the inventors to buy about three turns, and then I turned the corner with AoE / Jaina for the win. Giggling Inventor is ridiculous. lol

At the end of day one, I want to try an Espionage deck.
I want to try Mech Warrior, though it seems weaker than both Control and Recruit Warrior.

I'm on the fence about crafting these cards.

1. Zilliax (Viability of mechs remains to be seen)
2. The Storm Bringer (Seems decent in Token Shaman)
3. Luna (Don't want to play aggro, not sure if there's a place for her outside of Aluneth decks)
4. Dr. Boom (Boom fits in Control / Recruit decks and I'm missing almost all the Legendaries for those decks)
5. Myra (My Hearthstone waifu. You may be Forsaken, but I will never forsake you... *taps brim of fedora*
6. Myra's Unstable Yandere Love. (Seems fun in Espionage / Strider decks. Not sure if those decks are any good)
7. Subject 9. Here's a secret (hah), I really like Secret Decks. I spent months lamenting Secret Paladin / Mysterious Challenger, but when I finally played it, it was fun as sheeit. (Your mileage may vary.) Then I got into Secret Hunter with Cloaked Huntress and most of my Hunter wins are with that deck. Now we have a mutherfacking Jurassic Park-lab-runaway-raptor-reject and Bellringer Sentry. Looking at its tools, I don't think Secret Paladin will be that good compared to other aggro decks, but S9 works in Mage (and ROGUE LAWL) too.

edit: OMG, I just checked out S9's voice lines on Hearthhead and they are AWESOME. WOOOW!

That's about it. Gotta hit the hay or I'll never make my workout in the morning. lol

I want to play a prince 2 pally mech deck but I'm not sure it's working and everything is odd pally. Might tinker a bit then give up, I'm super bad at deck building.

I played the Topsy Turvy Priest OTK for a bit yesterday. I don't think that deck is gonna cut it in the meta with all the aggro floating around. The combo is hilarious and high APM when it goes off, but you just die too easily to most decks. I bet legend players can probably afford to play it since aggro seems less prevalent at the legend ranks, but anyone climbing ladder isn't gonna do it.

I think in Wild you probably don't bother with that combo, too many required cards when there are so many good cards available. That 2/4 to draw an elemental is pretty great though, I will say.

ok it's getting really tough to win games without any new cards, the power level of the cards are much higher after boomsday.

I need to get those new cards soon

Druid Mechathun is extremely fun. I love it. Played against a token druid and went from 1 health to having over 35 armor to win the game. Was able to soak up 12 damage of fatigue in my winning turn thanks to how powerful the defensive tools are. I am worried that I can't run a silence though (Oaken Summons). I wish I had one for Magnetic mechs.

Agreed. Magnetic can bump up stats in a fucking hurry.

So what is the win-condition with this deck? Just mill and kill? (I'm obviously missing something)

Killing a Shaman that used Electra/healing wave and then used another healing wave a turn later felt so good. I hope goblin bomb druid actually ends up being a real deck, because it is damn fun. Going face and knowing that the opponent can't clear without dying is a great feeling. Or they drop a taunt and I still get 6 face damage which puts me in double swipe range.

Yup. Druid has so much draw that milling yourself isn't a challenge at all. The hardest part is dumping all your expensive spells. But with all the defense it's no problem. Even against a strong aggro deck, you can UI during fatigue and still come out on top. Not saying this is tier 1 or anything, but it's at least decent and it's very fun.
