K Rool is essentially deconfirmed.
The leaker that was confirmed tonight also said K Rool wasn't in.
The thing is though, the Belmont confirmation is one in the same with the K Rool deconfirmation. Belmont in and K Rool out is from the same leak. I also suspect that K Rool has no chance as DLC.
Wait what? Verg said the k.rool thing was from some other guy who has bs'd stuff.
Since we have the Ice Climbers back, let's take that "several characters in one" mechanic all the way!

To be fair, Yu is fairly iconic. I will say, a lot of his fandom is driven from his anime characterisation, so there's a question of how much that contributes.

Thank you! Honestly I think Simon is way better than Goku in Super Smash, since its goal should be gathering the most icon characters which were originally features in videogames.
Despite all the rumours of tonight, I continue to hope an Adventure Mode could be revealed, maybe in the next Smash Bros Direct, it would be a great plus.

If we go back to the Brawl days (Smash 4 didn't have much talk cos without Snake, no point speculating anything else Konami) Simon was one of the most popular picks. I was often posting the Captain N design for fun.
Snake and Simon feel like a good balance of representation for Konami. Metal Gear is the infinitely more important and popular series for Konami, but Castlevania is more popular and iconic with the Nintendo crowd. It's basically the same thing with Ryu and Mega Man.

This song actually originated as an unused song in Killer7. The file name on the disc was "1stStaffRoll", indicating that it was meant to be used for the first set of credits after you complete the mission "Smile". Not sure why it ended up being replaced.
Castlevania in general has sold 20 million units while Bomberman's only done 10 million, so whatever.
To be fair, Super Bomberman R is the best selling game in its series in many years.
If we got a quality Castlevania on Switch it could hit those numbers.

PLUS Bomberman is primarily a multiplayer game, so even those who never owned a game could may have at least played it with a friend.

From the man himself. Castlevania was a HUGE influence on him, and he spoke of it in such a manner that he considers it comparable to The Legend of Zelda.
Objection. First, your PAC-MAN argument is irrelevant, as that series peaked as an arcade game. Both bomberman and castlevania are console game series from the same relative timeframe.
Furthermore, a vast majority from smash reps are from single player games, so claiming Bomberman is somehow more important because multiplayer is absurd.
Ganondorf's not in every Zelda game - hell neither is Zelda. By your logic, they'd be inadequate representatives and not worthy of being in Smash.
I like Persona(specificity 3-5) more then MegaTen so I'd prefer that.
