It was stated that it would be revealed before the item released and more. This attitude is not what we got when it was first revealed. But now that it's sold out why care right?
This practice isn't very consumer friendly when someone is putting down $200 for something they may not even like in the end.

there's basically no risk to you here though you'll have to do a little more work to see it:
1. You wait until the week before launch cause surely someone will open a box and photo the statue etc. Plenty of time to change mind.
2. You wait until launch day when in NZ/Australia, surely someone will photo / video the statue, you can return / cancel your pre-order etc (or just re-sell on eBay for $$$$)
3. You open it and don't like it, and again, can re-sell the statue on the bay - worst case you still have a physical copy, all the DLC, and everything else from the CE you already wanted.
4. You decide not to take the risk / or try to find an early image, and just cancel or re-sell it now.
It's Gentle Giant, we worked heavily with them on it, it's super cool in my opinion, it's worth not spoiling or making a big deal out of before launch and accidentally spoiling part of the game. If you're really worried, there's plenty of options as we get in close to mitigate that risk given the insane demand for it.
