Pro tip: don't craft the cards for your abilities yet! You get one free card per ability by doing the corresponding challenges.
check the specific challenges for what to do.
for exmaple the scan dart, you'll need 5000 points (doesnt take long) and you get an improved version card for free

Damn, I already used some crafting mats on abilities. FML

Personally speaking I've found the Star card abilities pretty negligible. I haven't died and thought it due to someone having better Star cards than me. I haven't dabbled much into Starfighter assault so I can't speak for that.

Should I unlock all heroes before buying any crates? I already almost have enough for Vader and Luke and all I've done was play campaign, get all collectibles, and play 3 matches of mp

Holy shit, Maul is a beast. Just spent ages wiping out the enemy. Took forever to kill me.

Great fun.

I frequently get squashed by players not even using them. But on the other side of the token, I also am regularly getting kills on players who are loaded out, while I only have one card. It's pretty even keel for me so far. But even when I am getting steamrolled, the battlepoint classes give me a boost more times than not. It's always nice seeing that 'one player' while you are a flame trooper, lol.

So pumped in about 10 hours. Rank 10. Couple of new weapons from Assualt and a random pick up form a loot box. Loot boxes helped me net in a couple of green and one blue card. Cards that I don't care to have (yet at least). Man this game is super heavy as a F2P like game with how it's currently designed. I've ran into a lot of people with blue and purple star cards already so I'm assuming these were people that were paying up for Crystals. I'm still learning map awareness but overall, the game has been a lot of fun. Those AT-STs...whew. So good.

Edit: If there were say a COD style, I'd probably already be into my first prestige. lol

literally every galactic assault is lopsided in favor of defenders

I have no clue why DICE thought it was a good idea to only refresh 30 tickets in the attackers side instead of all of them when they manage to cap a point.

I recall it going similarly in the Bera at the beginning. Takes a while for players on attack to work out how to win, while defending is generally easier to get ones head around.

So I know everyone is bashing the game over the loot crates and everything, but I really enjoyed the beta. Is the game really screwed or is it fun? I'd love to play a good Star Wars multiplayer game.

The F?? Dude...

I've only been grinding for two days on SWBF2. If they wiped my stats right now, I'm done.

In this case, it would probably save the stats of challenges, 2/25 hero ships destroyed etc. But the stats page might start you off at 0 across the board. 0 kills, 0 time played, you know.

Hopefully it's all being recorded though. We'll see.

Anyone use the fourth blaster for Assault yet? I've heard it's really good. I'm not happy with any of them right now except the E-11 And F-11 but I can't use them in all time periods...

The lootboxes are definetly a thing to consider, but if you liked the beta that much I say go for it.
The other maps are great and I haven't really had a problem with the microtransactions after 25 hours of playing.

I just unlocked it last night, it's alright but I haven't gotten the feel for it yet. Honestly underwhelmed with the blasters , I just can't find one I love and had a few in original that felt amazing.

I wish we could mix match things a bit more. I want to run more pistols at times but I still want to look like a trooper or what not during matches. Let us mix up the abilities and weapons a bit. I loved using an imperial sharpshooter as my main character in maps that called for it but im not a sniper. I miss that from the original.

The Starcards don't bother me. Never felt like I lost because someone had a better card. It's a clusterfuck most of the time anyways and dying isn't that bad as long as you contribute to the objectives.

But I can see them becoming a bigger problem down the line, just like the weapon unlocks. Especially for new players who have nothing when they start and get thrown against people with better cards and equipment + the experience with the game. But to be honest that's not a problem exclusive to Battlefront 2 but to almost every modern online-game with unlocks.

The only thing I personally find a bit much is the shield card, and I'm not one to call for nerfs but what I guess I don't get about it is in 15 You popped a shield and that's it, helps you survive. Here it's just full on bunker attack mode. Just seems a bit over the top and it lasts a long time.

Imho what should be done is if you don't shoot it lasts the normal length, but if you start shooting it burns down a bit quicker

I am glad i bought this, i liked bf2015 very much, but i never felt "just one more match" but i think i will get that feeling in this one, the core gameplay is so damn good, i think almost everything regarding gameplay is better and more fun then bf2015, and that is all that matter to me, having fun.

You dont HAVE to buy stuff with real money, i will not do that, i bought season pass for bf2015 and that was no good investment, nobody played those maps, i just want more free maps and it seems like we gonna get them for free this time, thats enough for me =)

The microtransactions will be back, but i actually think the will do it MUCH better this time, this is not good for Disney, and a new film around the corner, they have to fix this.

But if you are like me, a big big starwarsfan, just buy the game and enjoy it, its really good.

Sorry if my english sucks =)

So there's different times of day on the maps? I was playing Hoth earlier and it was like mid day and snowing. But I remember playing on Hoth and was like a sunrise or sunset time of day.

the personal shield turns off when you shoot

So.. that story goes some places doesn't it?

I mean it helps fill the gap, and I'm mostly talking about the last little bit.

I don't think, actually I can't find a way for their daughter to be Rey, even if they hint at stuff like that heavily during the Kylo Ren stuff, however going from Scraif to Endor to the other events we're really cool.

I can't believe you hit the arcade credit limit for the day before you can even do all 8 of the dark or light side challenges. Like cmon.

ah you meant the heavy shield.
i thought you meant the personal shield bubble.

Yea, just seems a bit much. Its not my style but I tried it and I can see people going nuts with this if this is their cup of tea. But there were also times when I'd pop it and still die. Yet guys I fucking unload on pop it and despite shooting their legs id still die. So definitely some bullshit going on with it.

But I do think it needs tweaked.

my main problem is until i unlock my weapon for class me turning into ahero and getting loads of kills is redundant, because i need kills for the class weapon lol

its such a backwards system at start

if the weapons were tied to that classes rank and the attachements were left at kills it would be 5x times more sense and better

Adding in a sniper class was a mistake, it's not like they're overpowered or anything it's just that so many people choose them and then just ignore the objective so your team gets steamrolled. It's the worst on Jakku when you spawn as a rebel and you just see half your team up there looking down their scopes and taking to odd pot shots while we lose all the points.
You know I thought the same thing with Battlefield 1. I don't understand why more games don't just limit the amount of snipers allowed on a team. That's how it works in Red Orchestra/Rising Storm/Insurgency/Squad and works very well. Even if the game isn't aiming for super realism like those are it would just be a benefit to everyone getting less frustration towards their own team or the other. It got so annoying in Battlefield 1 with the laser accurate snipers, I would play that game so much more if they had a limited amount of snipers allowed.

It's fun. Almost all of the negative talk has been echo chamber outrage. Game plays great and Dice is committed to making the systems fair for everyone. Give it a go if you are a Star Wars fan!

Having a blast thus far. Bought it to support my fellow artists in the industry and boy did they deliver.
I don't like Star Wars other than Vader (I have a thing for villains) , so I have no real loyalty to the brand.
I just loved the first one so much for being a much more light- hearted BF type game.

I cant believe there is no galactic assault in arcade mode, if any mode belongs there its that.
Hope they add it soon.

I dont have any cards equipped so when I do get kills , I hope the other person feels bad they got killed
by someone with NO cards equipped lol.
