You're just mad there's not GitS RPG.The important thing is that we stay together here in our ivory tower, secure in the knowledge that we could never share similar tastes as to what game might be the 'best' with the plebeians in general pop.
You know a lot of it is due to how the voting system works. 1 game gets a highlight, 10 games get 2 points, and 10 games get 1 point. So at that point it becomes 100% down to popularity. Any series with fanbases that aren't unified in their like for specific games -- FF, Kiseki, Suikoden all hit that note, and most old-school CRPGs are divided into several buckets -- end up fighting against each other and lowering the overall points. Since everyone's lists aren't ranked, the one that barely squeezed onto the bottom of your list makes as many points as the shoe-ins at the top. It leads to weird stuff like this. Honestly, I think its fun. Even if I don't agree with a lot of the rankings, there is interesting data to see from who likes what and which games go up and down as the years go on.
Also I love seeing people completely unable to agree on what "counts" as a RPG. It's all a popularity contest in the end. Who cares if someone calls Dark Souls or Yakuza a RPG? Let people vote for what they want. It adds to the madness and the fun IMO. I don't have to agree with them, but I do enjoy the contortions some people make to justify including or excluding X from whatever list.
Haha yeah but with every update it gets more fun :D As long as FF6 and Chrono Trigger are in the top5 it's fine for me though. I guess Witcher 3 will be #1...wich is wrong but that's the world we live in xDFinal Fantasy X above FF V, FF VIII and FF XII on Era's Top RPG List.
KOTOR above KOTOR 2, Deus Ex, both Kiseki games, Shadowrun and both Divinity OS games.
Xenoboob Chronicles 2 above Dragon Quest VIII, Mother 3 ad Suikoden.
There was a lot of propping up of Torchlight at the time of Diablo 3's release mostly due to backlash over Diablo 3's always online nature, but imo the Torchlight games don't hold a candle to Diablo, and no game since Diablo 2 has really managed to get quest design and pacing as good. Every other looty ARPG (including D3) just inundates you with quest after quest and so many of them are meaningless, Diablo 2 had a lot of unique rewards and gave most of them meaning for completion beyond progressing a story or ticking off another box.Matter of fact, maybe I'll go download Torchlight 1 and 2 and give them a try until then. While I've read that they are FAR better than Diablo 2, I still feel like giving it time at least to play it as part of gaming history :P
After playing Lords of the Fallen, I'm not sure I even want to add this to my library.vvery close to tapping out on The Surge, just having zero fun unlike with the Souls games where even when I was dying a lot I was still engaged.

Glad to hear you like it. Harebrained Schemes really did alright for themselves in their run of Shadowrun games; 1st one was stumbling, 2nd a triumphant, and their last one kinda spinning the wheels a bit I admit.Just completed Shadowrun Dragonfall, the ending sure leaves you wondering if you made the right choices. Pretty great game though. I think I'll try some of those fan-made storylines now.
We still see plenty of decent weekly bundles, they've just not yet fully got back into their stride again after the Steam Summer Sale - don't write them off just yet.I hate how Humble Bundles aren't really much of a thing anymore now that I'm a PC gamer. They use to be so good but I shrugged so many of them off as "Yeah, it's only $1, but I won't ever be playing these on PC so why bother." Damn, man...
the finalist list better have X-2 and 4 Heroes of Light as the best FF games
also i'm ready to barf when Horizon or GoW take the #1 spot

That thread about "I've finished 48 games this year but not enjoyed most of them" made me think about why I'm playing so many games (63 this year so far) and it's like not all of them are something truly special either. I think one of the main parts of my gaming enjoyment nowadays is writing down my impressions about finished games here or in reviews. Even if I completely hated the game in the end (like in case of that piece of shit called R6: Vegas 2), it's still enjoyable to slaughter it in review later, telling in details what so insultingly bad was in this game and why everyone should avoid it like a plague. I'm not saying that I only love to criticize games, positive reviews are fun to write as well. The only games that I feel like it was not worth playing them are those that in the end was just okay and you can't say much about them.
There's often something of value even in bad games, sometimes its just one idea or mechanic, but it can be a formative experience. The only times I truly regret it, is when I feel a game isn't respecting my time as a player.
Like I said in that thread, when time for gaming becomes a luxury you stop having that "problem". Even when narrowing it down to the absolute must plays that I know I'll love, I still can't find the time to even scratch the surface. If I decide to play something that isn't a known quantity because of glowing impressions or just because it looks interesting, I'll drop it pretty fast if I don't like it. I'll give the game a fair chance but I can't afford to waste 20 hours hoping it'll get good. I did that when I was a kid and even though and didn't really have anything better to do at the time I still wish I could get that time back.
For example, right now I'm playing Yakuza 0, I'm a huge fan of the franchise so I know from the get go that I'll be playing it to the end. Like this one there are tons of others in my backlog that I know I'll enjoy, I just can't find the time.
Last year I went out of my comfort zone and tried Divinity 2 since it seemed like a game I would enjoy, I hadn't played the first game and I'm not very experienced with this particular type of rpg even though rpgs are my favorite genre. At first I struggled with the difficulty but I gave the game a fair chance and it became one of my favorite games ever, took me well over a 100 hours and 6 months to beat. When those 130 hours represent most of the gaming time you have over the course of half a year, you wont be putting them into a game you don't love, I can assure you.
I finished LEGO Batman The video game on steam
It's pretty good but gets stale real quick lol
I give it a 83 out of 100
As for other stuff I am playing....
God of war ascension (PS3) - I just met the oracle lady after fighting conjoined twin boss person lol...I guess I am halfway through the game and have to say so far I feel like it's the worst god of war game in the whole series lol
Legend of heroes 3 song of the ocean (psp) - I am 53 hours into the game. The pacing has been pretty bad but things are going quicker. Trying to finish this game ASAP so I can finally start on something new when it comes to portable gaming
Kingdom hearts re:chain of memories (PS4) - gonna start on it soon since I finished the gba version like last week or so.
Gonna start on a VN this weekend on steam. Thinking about either karakara2 or world end economica episode 1.
Also gonna start on child of light , my first non assassins creed ubi series lol
I'm not surprised really, Bethesda's online games have never been on Steam on launch. From Tes Online to Fallout shelter and Quake Champions. They all ended up on Steam after a while. But I suppose a Fallout game made by BGS will be big enough that it may never release on Steam.https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-wont-launch-on-steam/

Checking the Thread: Is there any other platform other than Steam where people would be happy that a game isn't coming to it?
Already -42% off at CDKeys, 35€ is not too bad for Day 1.My interest in Fallout 76 was never high and I always planned to try it out at a low price so if it comes to Steam later then it works for me.
I'll wait till its 10 bucks like I did for Fallout 4 lol
Is there any platform or store where people constantly complain about the cut it takes off sales?https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-wont-launch-on-steam/

If so, they're sending that game to die.Don't care about Fallout 76 in particular, but the lack of a Steam page for Rage 2 makes me think that they aren't planning on putting anything on Steam for the foreseeable future :/
