Xenoblade 2 deserved so much more. I'm sure it will rise up in the future, especially since the expansion isn't even out yet.

P4 and P5 are a lock for top 20 if not top 10. I'm fairly confident P3 will reach top 20; Nocturne is the one we need to raise our hands for. The dream is to have them all reach top 10.
I do think that being in the top 30 is really good considering how many flaws the game has. Even as a big fan of Xc2, I can easily think of a big list of JRPGs that deserve being higher on any tier list.
I can never tell if people who post comments like those think the respective game is ranked too high or too low.
If there is any justice in this world, Automata is top five.
I'm guessing they take issue with it being so high, else they would have complained about the specific ranking.

I think FFX underperformed, it is a given it would beat Xb2 and XII, I am surprised it ended up so low
Some part of me is a little sad the Digital Devil Saga games aren't included here. They're so unlike literally everything else. But I never really expected them to make it, so. Biggest flaw they have is an encounter rate that's a bit too high.

As for this set...
Dragon Age Origins is a good game and by far the best Dragon Age game but man I don't know what other people saw in it that I didn't because I never thought it was top 50 let alone top 30 material. That said I can certainly see some aspects of it that make it one of Biowares better games what with it being much less of an instance of an illusion of choice (unlike say ME) and some decisions you make throughout the game do ultimately matter in the end and I really did love the various starting points and origins of your main character but the first half of the game be a slog to replay at times when you already know how a lot of the major events play out.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a flawed game to be sure but a surprisingly remarkable one if you are able to get past the rough edges it has. It's got a great cast of characters, an amazing battle system that does take him to really unlock all the options for it but once it does and it clicks damn is it one of the most fun battle systems I've ever played. I also have to mention the post launch support for the game has been fantastic with tons of additional content both for Season Pass holders and those who didn't grab it yet. I put a good 80+ hours into this game and at some point soon I really do want to go back and see all the stuff they've added in a New Game+. I know some people wrote off the game early because of the anime plot or character designs but Xenoblade Chronciles 2 is a game that does ultimately really reward you for the time you put into it, something that I don't think a ton of games with this many flaws do. The OST is simply amazing as well... Also it beat out FFXV by a HUGE margin so that makes me super happy.
Final Fantasy X is a great game that I think some people have soured on but its a game I still think holds up very well. Sure the voice acting can be really bad at times but thats more so a it being a product of its time more then anything else and the good voice acting generally outweighs the bad. I really enjoy the game and the depth the combat system has and I liked that Square tried to actually make a straight up Turn based RPG again instead of using the ATB system like they had been. FFX isn't perfect but its the last great FF game we got imo.
Undertale I have not played and its installed on my computer. I've already been spoiled on a key aspect of the game so maybe thats why but I really do need to jump into it at some point.
KOTOR has an amazing twist with a generally great story but man a lot of the game doesn't hold up well. It certainly put Bioware on the map and there were some interesting results that could happen depending on choices you made but I think DA:O is a much better game and I already said that I wouldn't have put that game in my personal top 50 so... yeah. Maybe I need to go back and try and appreciate it again but last time I tried to do that I found it really hard to get into with how clunky everything was. Also Jedi characters were stupidly OP from what I remember and I felt like I had to use them in certain fights towards the end of the game.

But yeah, FFX and KotOR were big games for me in my teenage years. KotOR sets up my favorite setting in Star Wars. It isn't very relevant to my RPG experience today, but at one point it very much was. IDK I jumped off the BioWare train after the OG Xbox for whatever reason.
I wrote about FFX on my ballot and above when talking about FF as a whole but...I really like the tight pacing, intimate setting, and the pilgrimage premise.
I like Xenoblade 2. I don't like what it does with some of its characters or the Gacha mechanics but I feel the combat addresses issues I've had with past Xeno games and the setting is really cool.

IMO is a good entry point for CRGPs. The story is interesting, the world is well done and the characters are interesting.
And the gameplay is simple enough compared to the old D&D CRPGs or the new wave of games like PoE or Divinity, so most players will easily master the systems.
And compared to most CPRGs, DA:O has good production values: dynamic camera, cinematics, good character animations...
I agree with all of that, I just didn't love the game that much. I think its leagues better then Kotor Tho.

I'm fine with KOTOR being higher than KOTOR 2. I much prefer the second one because I think it has more interesting themes and better character writing, especially with Kreia who I think is legitimately the best-written video game character I've ever come across (competition is basically the major cast members of Planescape). But the first game is still a lot of fun once you either get past Taris or skip it with cheats. And it has lovely music.
Add a 0 to that 1 and we definitely in the game. All aboard!
