It's called a fun coincidence, jeez. There's no relation whatsoever beside both games relasing the same month.
What's the exact point ? "Both informations are shown in August so it's the same" ?
Whether we get a big single player mode or not I don't think there's any indication in these dates.
I expect 2 newcomers and 1 echo fighter, plus modes etc...The game will be released in 4 months, we don't know how many characters there's left, but a Smash specific Direct with only one character reveal seems disappointing IMO.
These are my minimum expectations as well.- Shadow the Hedgehog as a Echo Fighter + ARK map from SA2.
- Simon Belmont + Haunted Mansion stage.
- Menu Reveal.
- Bunch of game mode reveal and quick demonstrations.
- Assist Trophy reveal from other games.
- Campaign like Subspace with story cutscenes coming back.
- Online Test announced and will be out on September. Need Nintendo Online membership to participate.
My expectations from this Direct.
Only the last one for Smash 4 revealed two newcomers. The first one only revealed Greninja.Has it ever happened actually ? The two Smash direct I remember had two newcomers each.

ok, gotcha. It's just that the timing is almost identical to when SSE was announced for Brawl compared to it's pre delay release date.
People will always be disappointed. If it was a general direct, and then no Pikmin, no Wave Race, no Metroid Prime and no Animal Crossing people would be as disappointed as right now. You guys need to trust the silent majority who is happy with what Nintendo is bringing. There's a lot of people disappointed it's a Smash Direct. I'm seeing it all over the internet. Not everyone is a Smash fan. Not all Nintendo fans are Smash fans. They're allowed to be disappointed.
Yep, but back then every new Direct revealed a newcomer, and E3 presentations revealed a few. This year's E3 only revealed Ridley plus an echo, and Inklings were revealed during the previous Direct. We will have at least one regular Direct from September to December, and I'm sure that some newcomers will be revealed during other events, but considering how little time we have until launch, I don't see them broadcasting a Smash Direct without more than one reveal. But it all depends on the number of newcomers, obviously.Only E3 2013, 2014, and the final Smash 4 direct revealed multiple full newcomers.
Smash Direct early 2014 and the DLC Direct before E3 2015 revealed veterans plus one newcomer.
Robin's reveal and E3 2018 revealed one full newcomer, one echo, and veterans.
I only expect one newcomer and maybe an echo.
Nah, this is dumb, it's like thinking that the Smash Direct is going to replace a regular Direct. I mean, if Nintendo has the games they'll reveal them sooner or later. Did Nintendo decide to move some games to 2018 to make Smash the big star of the holidays season? It can be, but the games will be released nonetheless. There's a lot of people disappointed it's a Smash Direct. I'm seeing it all over the internet. Not everyone is a Smash fan. Probably keeping the characters reveals slim with this game though with sakurai making a comment with dont expect many newcomers from what I recall in the past makes me believe that there would only be one newcomer reveal in the livestreams, and since they're going back to the traditional unlock the character feature Sakurai might do more suprise characters like Dog hunt. Who knows though, it's our first Ultimate direct so it's hard to know if they're following the same pattern as the Wii U and 3DS game until everyone has seen it.Has it ever happened actually ? I honestly don't get what makes her more exciting than Mona, Jimmy, 9-Volt etc., but WarioWare is a fun franchise and she's popular so it's logical that she could get into Smash.Serious question: why do people want Ashley? Is there a good reason beyond the troubling obvious one? Cus she strikes me as no more important than the other Warioware randos. From whence the hype?

Yet? Is that a hint of something?I have been seeing this more and more recently and have absolutely no clue what is going on with that. Probably just a very vocal group of people, and don't get me wrong, I love WarioWare and its cast, but I don't see the point of adding Ashley to Smash Bros... yet
Wasn't charizard also been revealed with Greninja ?Only the last one for Smash 4 revealed two newcomers. The first one only revealed Greninja.
That gif needs the new Smash opening with the white cross. It would even fit better with the transition.

Red eyes. The hint was there all the time.I have been seeing this more and more recently and have absolutely no clue what is going on with that. Same here. I don't have any interest in KKR, and on top of that he will be another big, heavy character, and big characters use to be pretty bad in Smash or depend a lot on grab combos. On the other hand Ashley can be interesting. But I expect KKR to be in the game and not Ashley, it makes more sense considering the ballot.

I mean, she has been popular in japan for a while now and pushed a ton with marketing stuff. Some could say it's forced, but she is almost a co-face of warioware. No, with "yet" I mean: after WarioWare is a more established franchise (yes, I think that despite WarioWare Gold Nintendo isn't really pushing the full potential of the franchise), I can see them adding WarioWare characters like Ashley.
But then again, R.O.B. and Duckhunt Dog can be considered obscure as well and are still part of the roster, so what do I know
I really don'r care for them. It's our time to shine. There's a lot of people disappointed it's a Smash Direct. I'm seeing it all over the internet. Not everyone is a Smash fan. Not all Nintendo fans are Smash fans. They're allowed to be disappointed.

Overall, I'm not sure, but "among WarioWare randos", she does stand out. Most of WW characters are nice, passionate freaks, and Ashley has some snark factor (though I hear it's mostly a localization thing). She has a relatively straight random moveset excuse with her being a witch; for instance the taxi duo would require more out-of-the-box thinking, the martial artists and ninja twins would be expected to be rather boring, game maniacs would either be out-of-the-box or Duck Hunt / Pac-Man on steroids, and Jimmy's dance moves could work out but seem to be on collision course with Rhythm Heaven having nothing right now.Serious question: why do people want Ashley? I want k.rool if it was between those two. But I almost think Ashley has a better chance.
Chrom will be either deconfirmed or confirmed, i think he's likely at this point as an echo
Knuckles is an assist trophy.- We are getting information about 'balance' (aka. Bayo nerf bat)
- Probably 2 new Echo Fighters, Shadow is one pf them since they haven't shown up the Assist Trophy.
- 1 new character: Simon Belmont, Knuckles or Banjo-Kazooie.
- New stages.
- Story Mode tease.
- Beta announcement but no date.
We can have Knuckles and Knuckles.
