Is really the XIII trilogy really bad or just mediocre

I really like the first game in the trilogy but I was not a huge final fantasy fan. As others noted it was different.

I appreciated it was more action based and linear which made it easier and more accessible for someone who normally didn't play a lot games like final fantasy.

Most of the issues the core final fantasy fans had were pluses for me or irrelevant because I hadn't really played earlier versions for long.

I don't think it was what any traditional final fantasy fan was expecting at that time. The only other final fantasy game I've spent time with and enjoyed in a similar way was final fantasy xv.

Seemed like a purposeful effort to try to make the franchise more accessible without alienating their core which didn't quite work out.

Insane. How does this idea start then gain traction then become an actual thing?!? Crazy stuff, I love it.

Could have medicore meant something that wasn't extraordinary and just of moderate quality while bad is just straight up negative with barely any positives.
A truly bad game these days would be shovelware. So if I were to be granular, I'd say the game systems are good, world designs are bad, lore is inscrutable, characters are stupid and story straight garbage.

How you weigh those aspects of a game will change the metrics of whether something is bad or mediocre, as a package.

For real? could have sworn it was more turn-based style.
Nope, it's completely real-time.

It's "turn-based" in the sense that you pick your actions from a menu and everybody has their own action speed (and actions have their individual costs), but there is no wait mode and everything proceeds in real time.

It's a surprisingly smooth system once you get in the flow of acting/casting and paradigm switching. It's more fast-paced than you might first expect, but it all works really well.

Yeah that makes sense. At least the battle system seems well from what you and devSin said and that I probably won't have any of the issues that matimeo said since I'm not a really a core long time FF fans and the difference in the trilogy than the older titles will barley affect me.

FFX does have a strong story though. I felt like I was playing a movie. Tidus' relationship with his father, and the game's take on organized religion are particularly interesting.

Y'all don't remember the Wall of Fayth like I do

My monitor died and it will take a while to fix it.

Is it possible to copy the save of a game to use on the other home PC that I family share with or I need to login on my profile all the time?
If it is possible, where is it?

The game is Full Metal Furies and I don't know if it supports cloud saves.

I thought I might as well complete my own challenge to help the ball going. Haven't done an ironman game of France in awhile so it was pretty fun.

Azur semé de lis or:

Getting Toronto:

Did the Big Blue Blob achievement again along the way to see if I can do it in patch 1.25.1:
Would've been better thematically if I took the southern route(Balkans) for this achievement, but alas.
Was interesting to see how Paradox's nerf to "piggybank nations" worked out to hinder player aggressive expansion. Took and sustain almost 10 loans for more than half of this playthrough.

Per the game's listing page, it does support Steam Cloud saves, so using that functionality would probably be the easiest route. Alternatively, if you disable cloud saves for the game on the recipient computer it's usually possible to transfer save files manually.

Updating nvidia driver always damage my PC somehow. I always had to recover my Windows installation or reinstall it from scratch. Last weekend, I got locked out of my PC because Windows refused to load and just stuck at loading screen after I updated my driver. So I had to reinstall it from scratch.

Anyway, Yakuza 0 worked just fine on my PC.

updating my drivers got it to launch (two times at least) but now it runs noticeably worse than before, with constant frame drops/hitches. imma just lower the graphics settings but that sucks, it ran super smooth last night

also already tried rebooting, no idea what RTSS is

Things that helped Yakuza 0 for me:
Open the Task Manager and set the priority of the process to high.
Open local files in steam and run the DirectX installer (Yakuza 0\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe)
Go in your user/appdata/roaming/Sega/Yakuza0
- In audio.ini set AudioMode=1
- If you play borderless without Vsync, manually set MaxFPS=# to your screen's refresh rate FPS cap

Not a compatibility thing, but open settings.ini and change SaveAnywhere=1 to be able to save with the setting menu anywhere.

And where are they usually located?

I love how well Overwatch is optimized on PC. With high settings, I can get fixed 60/4K with my 1070. And damn that game is sharp looking even on high settings.

The difference in audio quality between rendered cutscenes and gameplay is really jarring in Yakuza.

I am still in Chapter 2, the story is still very slowgoing, but I'm already in love with the substories.
It annoys me though, that a lot of them are seemingly tied to the dancing minigame. I'm soo bad at that one.

Mayhap a curious query, but I ponder; does Steam keep a record of downloads that does not reset when the app is closed?

If such a log existed how might I lay my gaze upon it?

I dunno if FFX is the best one to start with. But I still say it's a damn good game, you can skip FFX-2 though.
It ain't really bad, but it's more a direct to DVD-Sequel than than anything major.

heresy! why would anybody skip the most fun to play FF game?!

edited: the best FF game to start with series is still FF4. 1-2 might seem too dated today, 3 is... special. 4 is still great.

What's the best Final Fantasy to start with for someone new to the series? I own every FF game on Steam except for The Zodiac Age and World of FF.
Maybe IX is the best to start with, the highest numbered FF that managed to keep my attention until the end. I have fond memories of VI and VIII too. The big one would be VII but I guess wait for the remake?
