I mean, Amaterasu is already a playable, fighting character in another beat'em up, it wouldn't be that impossible, she would fit really good actually and Okami is coming very soon to the Switch...

Sakurai already confirmed that it's not happening, and the point of the Mii Fighters was so you could have your Goku or Spongebob. Characters that aren't from video games.
Because I've been waiting my whole life for this. I'm gonna kamehameha Mario with a character that's been a part of Nintendo history for three decades.
I would love Master Chief. He's FPS guy similar to how Ryu is fighter guy and he represents a spectrum of games outside of Nintendo. I'm also a Halo fan so yus plz.

Sonic sure is a celebration of Nintendo history, as is Cloud.
The argument is that he's been in more video games than most of the characters in Smash Bros.
Never mind that 96-98% of them are trash.

[3:00 - 10:00] New mode announcement: Smash Tour Plus. It's the original Smash Tour but with one new map and an expanded rule set. Each copy of the game comes comes with a 300 page "Smash Tour Guide Book" which details how to play. Returning modes from Smash Wii U are briefly shown but nothing seems to have changed outside of aesthetics.
[10:00 - 20:00] Sakurai goes over changes made since the E3 Direct. Bayonetta has been buffed due to "player feedback".
[20:00 - 27:00] New feature announcement: The return of stickers. Brawl's stickers make their triumphant return with over 1,000 stickers in the base game. Stickers include guest appearances from Simon Belmont, Ashley from Warioware, Waluigi, and even Goku to celebrate the release of FighterZ on Switch. The stickers are used to customise your Amiibo fighters with minor stat boosts.

Even people who love smash think that e3 smash direct went on 20 minutes too long. Showing more recycled content would be a hype deflator. They'll show some updated stuff and toss in a few new things surely.
If you want to go by the Smash Ballot, they are only looking a video game characters.
Wow, wasn't expecting a Smash direct so soon. Really hoping they'll focus on the available singleplayer modes since that's what made Smash WiiU by far the worst Smash game for me. Just a complete overview of all the modes available would be nice. Not actually that interested in the new characters since most of the ones I wanted are already deconfirmed by the assist trophy segment last direct, though I would expect to see one new echo and one brand new character. Hopefully they won't spend too much time on that tho, I want a bigger focus on actual gamemodes.
I never got why people get annoyed about 'announcement of announcements'. They're just letting people know when the direct is on so they can watch it/plan around it. In fact it's not an announcement of an announcement, it's just one announcement - of a direct. A direct isn't an announcement, it's a piece of informative content.
I mean, I can name more good Dragon Ball Z games on Nintendo systems than video games half the Smash roster has been in period.
Does this mean you're going to name characters who are really only in one game (excluding Smash) like Ness and Lucas?
