What's not entertaining about that? The sheer athleticism and skill involved, the harmony of it all, and the drama, it's just wonderful.

I can watch gymnastics for that, all without the predetermined outcome and fake agro/drama. As I said to the other poster, when I saw the name in the TV listing I flicked it on expecting something else, not this. There's obviously a market for 'sports entertainment' but it's not me.

Gymnastics is really boring. It should be scripted to have some drama. Someone should pretend to break an ankle or something.

I completely missed that this was back after the new year special a year and a half ago! Do they still recognise the champion? I'll have to stick it on for my kids later on. They've shown a passing interest in WWE but it's too long and drawn out for their attention span (they're 2 and 5 after all). Something a bit more family friendly on a Saturday teatime sounds perfect for them. I hope the ratings are good!

Yeah it's the same champ as the original pilot. He defends it on the show.

Ospreay is one of the top ten wrestlers in the world btw.

This is a mad comment.

Show was fine, the main event scene they have is terrible, weakest part of the show. The Ospreay\Smith Jr match was entertaining if not ruined by what can only be described as horrific camera work. Tag match was entertaining as well, Kip stood out head and shoulders and is on a real roll right now in IPW.

This is my impression of you right now...

"What's on the Television this evening?Well, hello. What's this? "World of Sport"... That sounds like a rip roaring time of gentlemen athletics. *gasp* My word! This isn't "sports", this is fake fisticuffs! I demand to know who is responsible for the airing of this gutter trash!"

I'm curious, how? She seems a total delight to be fair, lovely personality online and hear nothing but praise for her at shows being personable.

Commentary she clearly was a bit uncomfortable but she'll grow into it. They really lacked a proper commentator to call the matches and moves and keep a direction, all three were prone to just saying "this is it! No!"

Her partner used to be my boss, he and I became good friends as did Val and my partner. See each other pretty regularly. She really is a genuinely lovely person.

Hopefully the show starts to settle into its own and the commentary becomes more natural. It's a huge deal for her and I'd love to see it succeed.

That's cool! Yeah, be nice for her to succeed. Lots of guys on it deserve success to be fair, including Ospreay before he has to retire.

NXT have given them the perfect format for an hour show, would like to see them use that as a template.

Saying that, I'm off to WWE UK in Birmingham so there's me being supportive

I feared the worst from itv but that was surprisingly good. A bit over produced though, way too many replays.

Well, feck. Only learning of this now. Doesn't exactly help that this thread was only made today when I was away.

I'm not signing up for ITV on demand for content that'll probably be region locked.
Itv hub is free but UK only (think it covers some holiday locations now too).

People put up TaskMaster from Dave for outside UK viewing so I'm sure the same will happen here

Reddit has a thread too

I grew up in the (arguably golden) Era of Big Daddy (people's champion) and Giant Haystacks (villain /heel) and various racist caricatures like Kendo Nagasaki. It was the youngest I ever realized on my own that something was fake.

You realised this before finding out that Santa Claus wasn't real?

"It's Still Real To Me Dammit"...

Will have have to watch this later.

Well I enjoyed that more than I expected to. Entertaining matches, good crowd, etc. Also really liked Grado, he was entertaining.

Commentators were good as well.

Only complaint is the amount of quick cuts in the camera work.

Watched it again with the kids this week.

We are going to have to go and see these live at some point, the kids are glued for the full hour.

I felt like the matches were a a lot better this week and I was getting used the to the shocking editing but then the main event started and I realised it really can spoil a decent match. Commentary was better but Stu Bennett being the play by play guy and the colour commentator was a bit weird. Less chatting and more wrestling this week which worked for me but not sure how much the general audience will like that.
