So yeah i woke up had a nice morning then later i checked my os4 it would not turn on i vacuum cleaned it and tried the power cord on my old ps3 and it worked on there but not my ps4. I tried all reasonable things to make it work. I guess the power circuit is burned cuz i remember a few days that there was a power surge since i had to put the power button back up in my home.

So i guess the power suppky in the ps4 burned and that's why there was a power outage in my living room.

Anyway it was a 4 year old launch ps4 wish it would have lasted lije 7 or even 10 years but i learbed my lesson next time ill get a pro or the slim platstation and just wait cuz i always have this unluckyness with the launch playstations.

So y question is should i get a slim or get the spiderman limited pro ps4 i do own a 4k tv but i heard the pro can be loud and the slim quiet.

So what would sony era's advice be? Should i get a slim ps4 or a pro. I really wanna play my bavklog games indies etc + spiderman and kibgdom hearts 3 and resident evil remake. And red dead redmption 2.

Hopefully whatever one i get will last 5+ years.

Many thanks and this sucks xd.

There is absolutely no reason not to get a Pro if you can afford it. For what it's worth, mine is only audible very occasionally, like my launch PS4 was.

You have a 4K TV and you're pumped for RDR2, RE2 and Spider-man so the choice is easy: get the Pro.

Have you thought about taking it to a store to see if they can repair it? Could be something little.

Should be able to get a Pro for a reasonable enough price to be able to play the best versions of those games.

Also my Pro is at least not as loud as my old PS4.

We are reaching the new gen in 1~3 years.
Get the Slim when there's a deal.

Slim, or Pro if it's on sale for a reasonable discount.

The sound levels while playing certain games on my Pro has ruined the experience for me before though.

And yes, my console is clean and has plenty of clearance to vent.

Pro is basically the standard for me, I'm even thinking about upgrading my second PS4 Slim to the Spiderman pro which is kinda stupid when PS5 is coming 2020 more than likely.

But yeah, GoPro

If you can afford it a pro, if you can wait a few months till the holidays there would be pro savings of some sort.

Money is no issue, idm spendig the 75-100 extra ill probably wait till the ps5 slim atleast because i have always been unlucky with launch ps models the ps2 one doed the ps3 one and now 4. All slims i had lasted really long and some are still kickin.

So by the time i get the ps5 is a few ears after launch anyway.

And nope dont have big hands at all.
Only issue might be the noise issue cuz my ears can be sensitive sometimes but if the tv noise can out cancel that it's a non issue.

It's an easy choice. Get a pro. The difference on games like god of war and gran turismo is pretty big imo. And with Spider-Man, days gone, TLOU2 etc you're future proofing yourself pretty well.

I've got a one x and a pro and I know there is a substantial power difference between the 2. However the one with the games that really blows me away is the pro.

I had the same choice so I borrowed a friend's pro when he went on vacation and after the ten days were up I immediately went out and bought A PS4 Slim.

Pros are loud and heavy. The performance upgrades range from nearly unnoticeable to somewhat okay, but nothing worth spending extra money on.

Get pro, better resale value and the benifit of better image and performance.

Im hoping i can sell my pro for £150-200 a few months before PS5 comes out and then i just need £150-200 for ps5 if it launches at £349

probably go for the pro unless the jet engine sound will annoy you in which case go for the slim

also slims can be had new on ebay when they're doing they're percentage off deals for super cheap so that's something to consider

Pro no question. At this point of the cycle really no reason to go og unless you are seriously budget constrained. And even then I'd skip two games, play ftp games and get a Pro

if you think it's the psu, repairing it is very easy and inexpensive.

My launch PS4 is about to die so I pre-ordered the Spider-Man PS4 pro. Don't have a 4K tv, but I'm sure I will soon enough. Main reason I got it is because the game came with it for free, so it was only a $40 difference between the OG PS4 and the pro. If your thinking about getting the game, this is the best deal atm.

If money isn't the issue, I'd get the Pro. The leap in performance is well worth the slight jump in price.

Had a Pro for some months and "downgraded" to a PS4 Slim because I like to hear the game I'm playing and I don't use headphones (have a problem with my ears, and can't use headphones for more than ~30min).

Basically if you don't mind paying the extra 100 dolla and are ok with the noise, go with the pro. Otherwise, the Slim is still an excellent choice.
